{↘ Hush Hush

Personality: Ryu Daeun is one of the most likable idols to debut in the last several years. She was a trainee for five years, so she always puts on flawless performances. Her dancing skill is unrivaled by any other idol and she has worked hard on her singing. Daeun is the type of performer to cover for her fellow members if something goes wrong or to smoothly kick a potentially dangerous object offstage. One reason why Daeun doesn't have many anti-fans is because she never lip-syncs; her voice is always heard very clearly during the live performances. When it comes to variety shows, Daeun is a natural. She is very outgoing and has friends from many different idol groups, so she has plenty of connections and interesting stories. Unfortunately, her sense of humor is somewhat lame, so she is always stuck with the "fool" persona on variety shows. She'll make a joke and everyone will just stare at her or look away in embarrassment. Whenever Daeun is on a variety show for more than one episode, they attempt to make a love line between her and one of the male cast members, because she is so easy to ship. Daeun is extremely social and has an obvious love for skinship, so it is possible to ship her with practically anyone. Backstage, Daeun is very polite and respectful. She was raised by her grandmother and understands the important of respecting elders. She always bows 90 degrees, whether it is to a sunbae or to a hoobae. Daeun also adores giving fanservice and it is one of things that makes her so famous. She has a talent for spotting the cameras focused on her and always manages to give them a wink or a wave.

Offstage, Daeun feels very apologetic towards her members for all the attention she gets onstage, so she makes up for it by being the perfect member. She makes sure to spend an hour alone with each of the members every week. When she hangs out with them, she lets them decide where to go and what to do, but she always makes sure to pay for it. Some of her best memories are made during these member sessions and some of the most infamous Outta-Sight pairings are created because of them. Daeun doesn't mind when she is shipped with her members, even though it may bother them. Daeun is an extremely popular person and wherever she goes, there is bound to be someone she knows. When she isn't with her members, she is either practicing or hanging out with her other friends. Daeun is often invited to parties with lots of other idols and she brings members of her group along to these, knowing that it is a good way for them to make connections and to become more confident. Family is the most important thing to Daeun and she would do anything for her grandmother or her sister.

However, just like everyone else, Daeun has her faults. She is very self-concious and doubtful of herself. Daeun has very low self-esteem and is convinced that she's really ugly. She has never been in a relationship because when guys confess to her, she thinks they're making fun of her and turns them down. Daeun has a very strong sense of being unwanted and unloved, probably because her mother abandoned her as a child. This sense is what leads her to be so social; having a lot of friends helps makes her feel wanted. Daeun has never been top in her class nor has she ever received perfect grades on her exams. Whereas some students can ace any test without studying, Daeun has to study for hours to even pass. Daeun is a morning person and finds it easy waking up for early schedules. She tends to be a little noisy in the morning, forgetting that the other members are still asleep, which can lead to frustration among the group. Daeun is also very bad at cooking and cleaning; her grandmother is very rich and they have maids to do the chores. She often tries to help the members with cooking, but ends up just getting in the way.

Background: It was a rainy day when Ryu Jinyoung, the son of a diplomat, fell deeply in love with Kim RiAn. She was a mere 19 years of age and he was 24, but the age difference didn't stop him from pursuing her. At first, she wasn't interested in him because he was looking for a serious, committed relationship, but he eventually won her over. They were married within months and she discoverd her pregnancy not long after. Although his parents had initially been against his marriage to her, they were very pleased when she delivered a beautiful baby girl, their first grandchild. It wasn't long before RiAn was pregnant with another child. It was with the second pregnancy that RiAn realized she was living a life she didn't want. She resolved to give birth to the child and then run away from this family, with all their expectations. When she had delivered another baby girl, she hesitated in her plan, but after a few days she realized that she would be an awful mother. One rainy day, RiAn wrote a brief note, packed her bags, and disappeared. She was never seen or heard from again. Jinyoung was left married to a woman he would never see and with two very young children. The grief of losing his beloved wife was almost too much for him, but his daughters were his reason to fight the dispair.

With the help of his mother, Jinyoung raised his daughters as a polite young women. They had a close relationship, perhaps even closer because of their mother's absence. Daeun, of course, loved her father, but she was much closer to her grandmother. They would often have tea parties together and Daeun enjoyed learning about her grandmother's past. However, the serenity of those childhood years was soon shattered. One rainy day, Jinyoung was driving his daughters home from school. They were on a bridge when it happened: the car beside them lost control in the increasingly heavy downpour and crashed into them. Their car broke through the railing and flew off the bridge. Jinyoung died from the impact of the car hitting the water because his airbag failed to work. Daeun, in the backseat, did not realize he was dead. She and her sister would have died if it had not been for an extraordinarily heroic passenger on a nearby ferry. The man broke through the window by Daeun's sister, Dana, and pulled her out of the car. Daeun's seatbelt was jammed and as the car sank ever lower into the river, she knew she was going to die. She began to feel light-headed, wondering where the man who had saved her sister was. Why hadn't he come back for her? However, just as she began to lose conciousness, she felt her seatbelt being torn from her chest and a pair of strong arms wrapping around her. She woke up to see her grandmother crying by her bedside and her sister sleeping in the hospital bed beside hers; it was then that she realized her father was dead.

After the death of their father, it took a year before either Daeun or Dana felt truly happy again. Daeun was 10 years old and she began to discover a love for dancing. Her grandmother encouraged her to start ballet in order to keep her mind off the loss of her father. Daeun thrived in class and immediately skipped several levels so she was in the advanced classes. Her teacher invited her to join other dance classes as well, so Daeun convinced her grandmother to let her take Jazz and Modern, as well. When she was 12 years old, she began taking other classes on the side, without her grandmother's permission. Daeun knew that she would never be okay with her taking hip-hop and tango. Although she was a little young to be in a tango class, her height was already that of a 17 year old, so she fit right in.

{❤ Let's talk about lov}

Love Interest: Kim Jongin

Personality: Kim Jongin, Kai, is a very warm-hearted person. He wants to treat everyone well and even volunteers to play with disabled children. Kai has never been good when it comes to expressing his feelings... In fact, he's very awkward. He likes being bossy, but knows when to stop. As the lead dancer of EXO-K, Kai is a very athleetic person and is well motivated. He never skips his workout sessions, although sometimes he wishes he could. He is a very playful person and is naturally good at any game. He likes to read books and play with his dogs.

How You Guys Met: Well, Kai saw Daeun a few times when she was a trainee, but they never really met. Daeun was attending her first idol party after her debut and she was thrilled to be included as an "idol". Suzy, Jiyoung, and Sulli were already there and they greeted her as soon as she walked in the door. Surrounded by friends and energetic music, Daeun had never felt more happy... Except maybe when Outta-Sight debuted. After about 30 minutes, a dance circle formed and people started cheering from the dance floor. Daeun was pulled closer to the circle by her friends and they all stood on tiptoes to see what was happening. It was Kai, doing what he did best. When Suzy saw this, she told Daeun to join him. Daeun, of course, was too shy and needed a push in the right direction. After a few minutes of struggling, her friends managed to push her into the middle of the circle. Kai looked at her and it took Daeun a split second to compose herself. A new song began and Daeun approached Kai. "Dance with me?" Those were the only words she spoke for the next hour. She and Kai danced together throughout many songs, even when the circle broke apart, they were still dancing together. Little did she know, but Daeun had won Kai's heart within the course of an hour. She would have kept dancing, but her sister called and she had to leave the party early because her grandmother was in the hospital. Kai didn't even have time to get her number, but he recognized her from his company and knew he would see her again... He wouldn't let her slip away next time. (I hope you can make this scene as awesome as I can imagine it ^.^)

How You Guys Treat Each Other: Daeun sees Kai practically every day because they are from the same company. They have a lot of mutual friends who enjoy telling Daeun just how much Kai likes her. Daeun, of course, thinks they're joking around because she doesn't believe anyone would ever really like her. Although Kai doesn't have the courage to confess to Daeun, he makes it well known to others that he likes her. He does this mainly so that other guys won't be tempted to ask her out. Daeun is convinced that Kai only likes her as a friend and she acts the same way she always does around him. She is very attracted to Kai and subconciously she is very affecionate towards him, doing a lot of skinship with him without knowing the effect it has on him.

Faceclaim: Byun Ji Young

Backup Faceclaim: Jang Hae Byeol

Stage Name: Dawn

Persona: Dancing Butterfly

Trainee Years: 5 years

Trainee Life: Daeun had a very difficult life as a trainee. She was scouted during a talent show performance and was 13 at the time. She went through a brief audition process and with the reluctant permission of their grandmother, she became a trainee. She trained at the company for three years and was finally about to debut when the company went bankrupt. Daeun was forced to transfer another company. After a year of constantly transferring, Daeun landed in SM Entertainment. It was there that she trained another two years before being confirmed for debut. The main highlight of being a trainee for so long is that Daeun has a lot of idol friends. Since she trained for so long, Daeun is a true professional when performing and can handle any situation with ease.

How Did You Audition: Daeun was 14 when she entered a local talent competition. She learned the dance and lyrics to one of the most famous songs at that time. When she performed it, she had no idea she would be so popular. In fact, she was so popular that an entertainment scout took notice of her. He invited her to audition at the company and promised that if she did, she would have a good chance of getting in. Daeun had realized years ago that music was what she wanted to do and this was her chance. She begged and pleaded with her grandmother for months before she finally gave her permission.

Suggestions:............................

Scene Requests:

  • A piece of one of the members stage outfits falls off during a performance (shoe, scarf, necklace, hat, etc) and Daeun manages to move it out of the way during her dance solo
  • The other members getting angry at Daeun for getting too much attention, probably because she was chosen for more variety shows than them
  • Daeun and one of the members feeling awkward because they are being shipped together too much
  • Daeun hanging out with each of the members individually to make up for getting a lot of attention. Maybe while she's hanging out with one of the members, they are photographed and they cause a fan war between shippers xD
  • I like Yoonmi's idea of a Jeju vacation with EXO... Maybe they are all in Jeju because there's some big music festival, a photoshoot, or something
  • Daeun's grandmother dies and Daeun becomes depressed
  • Outta-Sight doing extreme sports for a variety show
  • Daeun dancing with fans as fanservice
  • Kai finally works up the courage to ask Daeun out, but she thinks he just means as friends, so she agrees. They spend a whole day together one weekend and do a lot of fun things. Every minute he spends with her, Kai finds himself falling for her even more. At the end of their date, Kai still doesn't know how to word his confession so he surprises Daeun with a kiss instead. She is very confused, so she apologizes to him before running away. A fan takes a picture of their kiss and posts it on the internet.
