Paper Moon -- Poetry

I'm fallin' down into my shadow
Holding my breath
For it's another deadly night
Stop scaring me
The pumpkin carriage the witch drew
Fear is in your eyes
I guess I'll see you in your dreams, baby
Close your eyes and you will see
"Fairy blue, for you I'd give my life"
It's all fake
A trick that seals throats
Black paper moon
Have you lost your way?
Because you're never getting out
The sweet crimson
Dripping between your fingers
Signal a release
Not that it's surprising
Destiny- it's a disgusting word
Filled with empty promises
Are you understanding?
Confused, where did you go wrong?
No, it's always been like this
"Fairy blue for you I'd give my soul"
It's not like that anymore
You're losing sight of your dreams
Give up, you're not getting out
When you were young
You dreamed that if you were perfect, you'd have everything you ever wanted
No one believed in you
But you kept fighting on, but for what?
Nothing.
Don't you see? DOn't you understand?
"Fairy blue for you I'd give my life"
It doesn't exist
What are you going to do now?
Watching you search and search
Only to come to a dead end
Can you hear laughter?
You're never getting out
Depression and anger are emotions
And that's all you feel
When you still were young
And forever in control of your soul
You just look up and see
That same black paper moon
