Despite HAVINg Quite a pretty face with feminine features, haneul is alot more manlIeR than he seems. fRom slight abs to toned arms hiding under a large sweater, you'd never think he was masCuline at all. a little on the shoRt side (nothing insoLEs and high inch shoes don't make up for), many had Mistaken the boy for a female at first back when he was a child. his mother had Even thought she gave birth to a girl if it wasn't for his.. um, yeah. 

living in a farm half his life, haneul had always kept fit, healthy and strong. large fields full of healthy vegEtables, Long tracks and heavy equipment, it was hard for him to gain any weight. 

haneul used to be quite tan back in his childhood due to always being outside working. only when he moved to Seoul was when his skin started Getting lighter since he Was always in A windowless stUdio working. he wasn't the type to get pimples easily, even if he did they'd quickly disappear. he never really wore products (until he joined the company). 

All in all, he isn't too fussy about he looks. he could gain weight for all he cared, all he wants to do is impress people with his music, not his body (however he's quite Confident about hOw he looks most of the time. Plastic surgery was never really his thing, but the company did help him even out his eyeliDs).

He's (almost) as outspoken and Honest as An idol as he is in real life. he wouldn't hesitate to State his honest opinion, making comments such as 'that's abit lame', or 'you've had some work done, right?' How easy it is to get tired of Kang haneul. He doesn't like to beat Around the bush, he'd tell you straight up his opinions no matter how hard it'd slap you In the face. it's not that he WANts to purposely offend you, he thinks of it as constructiVe criticism. it's hard to control haneul, being As sTubborn as he is, Once he hAs his mind set oN something, he'll achieve it. But despite being a total brat, He's Anything but selfIsh. “the world didn't start when you were born, it's not going to end when you die” is probably his favourite quote. it keeps him sane, it reminds him that he's only a speck in such a large world and that whateVer makes him happy won't do anything for those who really need such happiness. he dislikes those who think of themselves more than they think of others, he hATes people that don't COnsider other people's situations before making rash decisions. a lot of His friends and family look up to haneul for advice, which he never takes light of and gladly helps them with whatever it is they need help with.

background:

bOrn and raised in a large farm in England. hE hardly ever spent time with his father, since he only came Home probably once or twice a year. haneul lived with his ill mother and grandfather in England, looking after the farm while his father worked in South Korea as an English Teacher at a school. since his mother was ill, he hardly ever saw her either. he usually spent time with his grandfather, looking after the farm and growing Vegetables. Although he hardly spent time with his mother, he still loved her. everyTime he was able to spend time with her, she was so sweet and kind. however, when he turned nine, she passed away. (sobbitty sob). it was hard For hiM to cope, he spent All his hours in the horse studio, and would sometimes sleep there as well. one day, he woke up and spotted something hiding in the hay. a guitar, it was. an acoustic one. he tried playing it, Even though he had abSoluTely no experience, he liked the sound of it. little by little, he started self learning. eventually, his grandfather found OUt and he taught the boy – since he use to play himself back when he was young. 

the guitaR Healed him. the guitar comforted him. since he was home schooled, he never had many friends exCePt the kids from neighbouring fArms. he started to get better and better at the guitar, and eventually started writing his own music. When he turned sixteen, his father wanted him to move to sEoul – and he did so, In hopes of being able to get a musIc carEer. his father wasn't too fussy about what path he chose in life, although he did hope his son wouLd join the education department (whIch wasn't likely, since haneul was home schooled).

haneul bought a tiny apartment since hE didn't want to bother his father. he wasn't even that close with him, so it was quite awkward. he began making more and more music, playing on the streets and earning money – he also Sang at chaRities and schools. when he made enough money, he buyed a small little studio and opened an online radio channel. little by little, more and more people found OUt about it and he became quite the talk among HIgh school students. when he was eighteen, he got an email. an email from a Company who Gained interest in him through his channel. he was Happy, he contacted them straight away and auditionioned. After awhile, he got in and signed the contract. he thought, finally! I'll be able to pursue a Real music career. but Not everything went smoothly. before he signed the contract, he Never asKed 'what type of music?'. haneul was never a fan of hip hop or rap oR any type of music without real meaning to it. he didn't see it was real music. And when he found out what kind of music he'd be singing, he was impressed.

Ever since he Opened his radio channel, a lot of Channels have been asking for his appearances. most likely because of his flower-like voice. he had gained a lot of popularity among high school students, so stations aimed towards youngEr citizens in South Korea have been Requesting guest appeareAnces from haneul. he isn't too bad at speaking either, His relaxing Voice being able to sooth listeners. some had Even Asked him to Become a co-host for a few stations, but he Turned them down since he Only had an interest in music. 

However, Now that he's debuted, he's been getting request from radio stations non-stop – And to be able to prOmote himself, he's forced to join. it's not too bad, after aWhile he started to enjoy it. he liked hearing about other people's problems and helping them. he liked how people liked hearing his voiCe, and wouldn't sImply become his fan because of his pretty Features. he found that the fans he gained Through Radio were alot more calmeR than the ones he gained thRough being in pandemonium. he's now made a lot of appearences in a lot of popular radio stations and he enjoys it quite a lot.

trainee life:

haneul was never so Great at interActing with people. he found people quite irritating in fact. Suddenly living with five strangers who he saw as complete brats, he hated it. but that wasn't the only downside of it. music, loud music of differEnt kind of genres. he couldn't take it, he hated all this rap and hip hop. but he couldn't escape, he signed the contract already. he was tired, exhausted, he wanted to give up. he wantEd to Fly back to England and stay coSy and safe in his grandfather's arMs. due to this busy trainee life, he had to close down his beloved channel. JUst when he was on the verge of giving Up, he got a call from his grandfather. “The world didn't start when you were born, it won't end when you die”. he couldn't give up. he couldn't be selfish and just give up. if he gave up, what would happen to the other five innocent members? if he gave up, what would happen to their futures? he Didn't realise it, but he slowly started caring for s (he'd never admit It), and the only reason why he'd never give up was becaUse of them.
