"Style"
Personality: Minwoo has a unique and special gift... He can always tell what the audience is looking for, whether the audience is a crowd of screaming fans, a panel of judges, or even just a small group of friends. He can tell when they are looking for a y performance, a beautiful adlib, a sarcastic response, a chic glance, an aegyo display, anything. Now, Minwoo isn't very good at aegyo nor is he skilled in adlibs, yet the gift still helps him. Many years of training combined with his immense talent and unique gift have made Minwoo into an amazing performer. In fact, whenever he's dancing or rapping, you'll find it hard to look away. However, Minwoo isn't only entertaining when he's performing. He has a perfect sense of timing and knows when, and how, to make people laugh. Whether it be sarcasm or body gags, he is always ready to show off his peculiar sense of humor.

He is one of the most stubborn people you will ever meet, but that should be obvious from his many years of training. Most trainees would give up after 5 years, but Minwoo never gives up... on anything; this can be both a blessing and a curse. He tries to avoid controversial topics because he gets very passionate when defending his opinion. This is one of the reasons that he hasn't debuted yet; his company knows how dangerous his stubborn attitude can be. For exmaple: if Minwoo were to be in a relationship with someone he truly cared about, he would have a very difficult time denying it in public. Also, when he spent the majority of his teenage years in America, Minwoo experienced many things that he would never even hear about in South Korea.

Ever since he started practicing dancing on his own at the age of 8, Minwoo has been a very independent person. He learns well from teachers and trainers, but if a fellow trainee tries to help him or give him advice, he rarely ever listens. Since the majority of his time is spent training or being tutored, Minwoo doesn't have much time for friends. He has grown numb to the feeling of lonliness and actually finds it more difficult to make friends now, because he isn't used to it. In fact, this is another reason why he hasn't already debuted: Minwoo has trouble fitting into a group dynamic. When he was 16, Woollim Entertainment placed him in a group with five other male trainees, telling them to practice together. They were supposed to debut, but the company decided against it for many reasons. One of these reasons was Minwoo's inability to fit in with the others. Now that he is 20 years old, they are hoping he will have learned how to work with others and how to fit in.

Hobbies: Watching Korean and American dramas, practicing his expressions in the mirror, writing in his journal, and taking pictures
Habits: Touching and biting his lips, clapping when laughing, singing/dancing along to whatever song he hears, and switching between English and Korean
Likes: Travelling, cats, swimming, laughing, and photography
Dislikes: Practicing his Mandarin, really windy weather, not having his iPod with him, doing aegyo, math, and shopping

"History"
Background: Ryu Seunghwan met Kwon Sarang in an art class. It was the first day of university for both of them and Seunghwan had been worried about making friends. From the moment he laid eyes upon Sarang, he knew that he would anything to be her friend. Normally a very quiet and shy boy, Seunghwan surprised everyone, including himself, by starting a conversation with her. Sarang was only a year younger than him, but she had a surprising amount of aegyo and he fell for her easily. They dated for a year before Seunghwan decided to propose. A month after their wedding night, Sarang discovered that she was pregnant. They were as happy as could be when she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. They were somewhat poor because Seunghwan was still working on his degree in photography, but they were happy all the same. Sarang later gave birth to a pair of twins, one girl and one boy. They were never a rich family because Seunghwan refused to work for a company, but they were never dangerously poor. Their home was a four bedroom flat with one bathroom. Seunghwan and Sarang's artistic talent had obviously been passed on to their children and the house was always cluttered with unfinished projects while the smell of paint and clay filled every room.

Minwoo discovered his love and talent for music when he was 7 years old, on his first day of elementary school. He had his first ever music class and outshone all the other students. For a year, he accepted these classes as his only source of music and the only time for him to practice his skills. However, as he grew older, he realized that it wasn't enough for him. When he was eight, he asked his parents if he could take music lessons outside of school, but his father shot down the idea right away. Minwoo didn't allow his refusal to hold him back and he began to spend all his free time practicing on his own. He would watch music videos at his friends' houses and learn the dances by himself. In school, he studied the other subjects diligently, but always found himself yearning for music class. Another year had passed when Minwoo asked his parents for extra lessons again. This time, his mother stepped in and said that he could. Nine years old and very busy, Minwoo was soon enrolled in dance and vocal lessons outside of school.

A week before his 10th birthday, Minwoo convinced her mother to let her audition for a brand new company, Woollim Entertainment. Everyone in the family, including Minwoo, was surprised when he was accepted as a trainee. His father was very unhappy with this: he didn't believe music counted as art and everyone in the family was an artist. Fortunately, Sarang defended Minwoo and gave him permission to undertake training. For five years, Minwoo split his time between school and training. At the age of fifteen, Minwoo's mother passed away from the cancer she'd been fighting for years. Seunghwan demanded that Minwoo quit training. He had been training for five years and still hadn't debuted, so his father was convinced that he would never debut at all. Minwoo refused to quit, his passion for music and his determination overcoming his doubts. In his grief, Seunghwan kicked Minwoo out of the house, telling him that it was a home only for true artists. He wouldn't admit it, but Minwoo reminded him too much of Sarang and he couldn't stand to look at him any longer.

Reason For Auditioning: Since the age of 7, Minwoo has known that music is the only career for him. He excelled in music class at school and it was all he could think about during the other classes. When he almost 10 years old, Minwoo found a flyer about Woollim Entertainment, a newly formed company, and how they were looking for trainees. It seemed like fate to him and he begged his parents to let him audition. He was accepted into the company and Minwoo knew that he was on the right path.

Training Period: 10 years

Trainee Life: Woollim Entertainment was formed in 2003 and it is now 2013: Minwoo has been training at the company for as long as it has existed. He had been training longer than any of the other trainees and has been in the company longer any of the groups. He still remembers when each member of Infinite joined the company and the times when they trained together. He still remembers the bitterness he felt when they debuted. When Minwoo's mother died, the company realized how heartbroken he was and they saw the grief he was in. They figured that he deserved something in return for his dedication even in his time of pain. Minwoo and four other trainees were sent to America to train. They lived in a dormitory of sorts and those who were underage received private tutoring to make up for missing school. Minwoo learned more from his time spent in America than he did ever before; his English skills improved drastically and his talent thrived. After five years of training in America, the company invited him to participate in the trainee selection program. 20 years old, Minwoo returned to South Korea for the first time since his departure five years ago. He visited his family for the first time since he had been kicked out, but only to see his younger siblings... He would never accept his father's apology. Minwoo has seen many trainees come and go around him, many of them giving up after a couple years. Sometimes, he wondered whether he really wasn't meant for this career, but he always pushed away the doubts by practicing even harder. When the company invited him to join this program, he almost turned them down because he couldn't bear the idea of competing with young, fresh trainees and losing. However, they assured him that they'd been saving him for something special and he realized that this could be his chance.

"I'm In Love"
Program Love Interest:
Name: Shim Miyeon
Age: 20

Why You Like Them: Minwoo is often mistaken as a cold and emotionless person, when he really isn't... He's just very focused on his career. Miyeon seems to enjoy talking to him and trying to annoy him, but what she doesn't know is that he looks forward to "fighting" with her. Minwoo's life is extremely boring and although he loves music, he has been training for 10 years now. What Miyeon thinks is "annoying" to him is actually entertaining. Minwoo thinks that Miyeon is the perfect combination of cute and y... He thinks she's positively lovely. He admires her natural ability to makes friends and initiate conversations, even if she can be a little too loud. The thing that really won Minwoo over was her determination: she is just as hardworking as him. He doesn't mind her possessiveness, thinks her clumsiness is adorable, and finds her spontaneous personality majorly attractive.. One of the things that Minwoo likes most about her is how she secretly helps others.

How They Act Together: Whenever Miyeon is around, Minwoo always makes sure to act extra cold. He enjoys watching her work hard to make him show some emotion. In fact, Minwoo is open and talkative around the other trainees, but whenever Miyeon is around, he becomes quiet. He has noticed how Miyeon enjoys picking fights with him and doesn't mind fighting back, especially since it seems to give Miyeon some satisfaction. Sometimes, however, Minwoo gets tired of acting like he dislikes her. Every now and then, he will join her when she is gardening and they will work in silence. Whenever Miyeon is baking, Minwoo is sure to be somewhere nearby, pretending like he doesn't care. He enjoys watching her bake because it brings out her feminine side and he thinks that's very charming. When Miyeon gets angry at others for touching her stuff, Minwoo allows her to take her anger out on him, even letting her punch and hit him without retaliating. Since Miyeon usually does kind things for others in secret, Minwoo often finds the things she lost and returns them to her in secret. He always make sure to leave a sticky note on her door reminding of the days schedule, but never signs it... He is too shy to admit to her that he likes her. This is probably because he is convinced that Miyeon doesn't like him. Miyeon often talks to the mirror to encourage herself before performing and Minwoo also practices his expresions in the mirror, so they are sometimes called the "mirror couple"... The term couple always makes Minwoo blush and he yells at whoever called them that, out of embarrassment. Minwoo hates, HATES, how Miyeon acts around Park Jihoon. He has never been more jealous than the moments when they are together. Minwoo knows that Jihoon is a total player and has to restrain himself from the punching the younger boy every time he touches Miyeon. He can tell that Miyeon likes Jihoon because she is always clumsier around him and she blushes a lot when he's talking to her... Minwoo wishes she would act that way with him.

How Will/Did They Meet: Minwoo and Miyeon trained together at Woollim Entertainment for one year. They were never formally introduce since they took different classes and Minwoo was going through a hard time, with his mom getting sicker and eventually dying. Soon after, Minwoo went to America to train. They were first introduced when the trainees for the program were announced. Miyeon got overly excited and began squealing loudly, right next to Minwoo. He still regrets it to this day, but he snapped at her to shut up.

"I Will Show You"
Program Rival:
Name: Park Jihoon
Age: 19

Why You're Rivals: Minwoo can honestly say that there is nothing he likes about Jihoon... His feelings toward the younger boy extend far beyond the normal trainee rivalry. The main reason for this animosity is the way that Jihoon flirts with all the girls, including Shim Miyeon. Minwoo likes her and although he isn't ready to confess, he doesn't like watching the program's player "playing" with her. Despite Jihoon's tendency to initiate skinship and his extreme arrogance, he is a very talented performer. This is the second reason that Minwoo doesn't like him. Both of them are very good dancers, two of the best in the program, and they're training together. He hates how Jihoon is a better singer than him and works even harder, trying to make up for it. The third reason for their rivalry is that their personalities clash. Minwoo has been training for 10 years and has worked very hard to get where he is, but he doesn't brag about his talent or his chiseled abs. Jihoon, on the other hand, brags about everything... and it drives Minwoo crazy. If it weren't for his desire to debut, he would have already started several fights with Jihoon.

How Will/Did They Meet: It was the day when the trainees were moving into their new dorms: Minwoo was taking his bags upstairs and overheard Jihoon bragging about himself. He didn't take too much notice of it at the time. Later, during their first training session, Jihoon perfomed a dance for the other trainees and Minwoo knew that the younger boy was his only true dancing rival. From that moment on, the rivalry grew into a strong dislike, at least for Minwoo.
