Something I'd like to ask of my readers
With the decision of adding a sequel to my other story, ‘To Daddy, With Love’, so many readers have shown me their instant interest! It makes me very happy to see that, truly. But this is not what I want to talk to you about.
Don’t consider it arrogance or self-centeredness, or some way where I consider myself better or whatnot, popular, even. I don’t consider myself popular at all. Whether my stories are loved or disliked, that should remain within the story’s walls, I believe. So don’t be offended or think negatively of what I’m going to ask of you, alright?
In so many comments, readers mention me as ‘authornim’. I have nothing against the term, truth to be told, because it shows a certain amount of respect towards the story and its author. But, at the same time, it lifts a barrier between the reader and the author.
I read in so many blog posts lately, how the so-called popular authors are very difficult to approach, that they’re unfriendly, cold, or arrogant. I don’t want that. I want to be close to my readers, to be able to talk to them with ease. I know very well how you feel, when writing to an author you fancy, but I’m saying this so you would write to me. I have so many subscribers, story commenters and I’ve added friends to my list too, but nobody speaks to me. How am I supposed to feel?
At any rate, getting to the point of this blog post, I wish you stopped calling me ‘authornim’, because, aside from the respect, I’m just another user on this site. I’m with nothing better than you guys, who read my stories. So no need to be so formal. Instead, feel free to call me Nora, Autumn, Nana, however you’d like. Even if I might be older than some of you, I’d like to be friends instead.
By that, I mean that you can write to me anytime, because I don’t bite.
Alright? Can you do that for me?
