Appearance: Namkyu is 172 cm and 54 kg. You can tell that she is strong, because of her thick muscles. Her dark hair is tinted red and goes all the way down to her waist, all knotted and messy. She has various scars and bruises from other battles, mostly on her upperbody.

 

Who You Are↴

Personality: Namkyu is a stubborn and prideful young woman in a nutshell. Early in childhood, she had to grow up fast, making her independent, street smart, and stubborn. Namkyu knows how to strike a deal, how to sneak into all sorts of buildings,  and how to kill and prepare almost anything in the forest. She and her brother became ophrans when she was 4 and when he was 8, so that's when she learned all she needed to. But she becomes very senstive when others badger her on not being educated. Namkyu doesn't know much about history or mathematics and only knows the basics of reading and writing. Even with all the insults, Namkyu likes to believe that she doesn't need to go to school or learn fancy things such as seduction and mind games. 

Namkyu can't control her feelings very well. She acts very tough and strong, but she's senstive and acts very quickly. When she is confronted in a fight, she'll throw the first punch. When she feels threatened, she goes on a rage. Sometimes when she's around a lot of people, she feels cornered and picks a fight with everyone there. As a person, she's aggressive, rash and complusive; but as an assassin, she becomes swift, clean and patient. She could stalk her target for weeks if she needed it. Torture's too messy for Namkyu, she would rather finish off her target quickly and disappear in the night before anyone could catch her. Namkyu has the skills to kill a highly guarded and skilled general, but she won't kill just anyone. See, Namkyu has her own sense of justice.

It started with her brother, Sangwon, it was his dream to become the king of Maelinia and clean up the streets of this nation. Sangwon had said that all killers, assassins, mobsters, and thieves must be accounted for their actions, that one day justice will prevail in Engu. As a child, Sangwon had seen plenty evil and wrong-doing and he's always felt that he should do something and passed this ideology to Namkyu. No matter how much one pays, Namkyu will never kill a righteous person; she will only kill other killers. Though many people say that she has become much like the people she hates, Namkyu believes in her brother's views. After Sangwon's death, his dream had become her dream and now, she will do everything to become king of Maelinia.

Background: Namkyu was born into a fortunate family in the Emphra Triad, her father was a banker and her mother, a seamtress. Her life was simple, until one day, her  mother died of a sickness when Namkyu was only two. And it wasn't even one year later when her father was drafted into the army to fight in the Great War. With no family to watch them, Namkyu, her father and her brother, Sangwon traveled to the city of Wyr. Namkyu's first memories were of Wyr; Sangwon and Namkyu walking down the streets looking for work once their father left to the compounds. And soon, Namkyu and Sangwon followed his footsteps when they were of age. Once they made it to the army, they were forced into compliance, something Namkyu couldn't stand for. More times than Namkyu could count, Sangwon had taken the fall for Namkyu's disobedience and faults. No matter how much Namkyu tried, she could never fight with the weapons she was given, even though her hand-to-hand combat above average. It was almost Namkyu's 6th birthday when they found out that their father had died in battle, making them officially orphans. It was when Sangwon was 12 that he became brave enough to run away from the compounds. Sangwon saw all the soliders as oppressing and so took his sister and some stole goods to Ferrisom, a green city he heard some other soliders talk about.

From what Namkyu could see, Sangwon as an angel. The trip from Wyr to Ferrisom was long and tiring for two children, but with Sangwon, Namkyu could bear it. If she was tired, Sangwon would carry her; if she was hungry, Sangwon would steal her food. Through the journey though, the two had lost their way and finally, their purpose to go to Ferrisom. They had to steal, cheat, and run for the better part of seven years. The two had seen horrible things by the time Namkyu was 15, but one thing she'll never forget is the kindess of an old man, who helped Sangwon when he was sick. It was in one of the old man's rooms, Namkyu had seen an old, worn katana. She was mesmerized and stole it from him, hiding it in her bag one night. The old man had known and let her take it from him, even giving them small change and a bag of food once they were off on their journey. It was a week later when Namkyu first killed someone, she was 12. A stranger had tried to kidnap her in the night when Sangwon had left to fill their empty water sack and she was scared. She stabbed him and only stopped when Sangwon came rushing through the abandoned house, and calmed her down. Sangwon had said that man deserved it, that she was doing the world justice. He had said that long enough for her to believe it too. Sangwon was 19 when he left to Maelinia to become the king, armed with only his sharp insticts and a sturdy harpoon he had mastered. Namkyu pleaded for him not to go, but he said that it was his destiny. Sangwon died in the second round.

By the time Namkyu was 15, she was deathly with her katana, but hardly as refined as a master. It wasn't until Sangwon's death that Namkyu trained for perfection. Many mages had bested her with their magic when sparring against her, but Namkyu would not stand down. She spent most of her years after Sangwon's death travelling through taverns, inns, and forests, becoming stronger to join the competition in Maelinia. She took her first job as an assassin the winter of her 18th year, killing a greedy mob boss from a small village. Talk of her efficient killing grew within a few years, though the specifics of who she was fell through the cracks of the conversations.

Companions: Oh Sehun - he found Namkyu in a small tavern by Maelinia. There was talk about the quick killer, Namkyu or some such, in town for the competition. Since neither of them cared for torture, Sehun urged Namkyu to join him; they could kill off the other competitors easily and swiftly if they worked together. At first Namkyu refused, because he used magic, but Sehun made her change her mind by taking the air from her body. He had said no one declined his offers. Namkyu accepted his invitation, knowing he could kill her within seconds.

Rival: Wu Yifan - She was 22 when she took to job to assassinate the dragon slayer. Because he too did not use magic, she thought he would be easy to defeat. But his claymore was too strong for her katana, splitting it in half. Out of all the jobs Namkyu ever had, this is one she never finished.
