September 11, 2001... A Day In American History.

So,  today's an important day in history for America. Today was the day that the Twin Towers we attacked and burnt down by terrorists. The day the Pentagon was attacked- leaving us vunderable.

I remember that day clearly as if it was yesterday and I cry when this day comes. Everyday I grieve because I lost someone important to me. I lost my oldest sister and her daughter.

So I'm here to tell you about what happened on this day. When I was three years old and got the shock of my life... here's a snap of my memory that my 'parents' recorded.

"C'mon let's wash your hair Sweetie," my mother put the pink shiny baby shampoo onto her hand and scrubbed my hair. I grabbed my ducky toy and squeezed it, giggling at the fart noise it made.

"Don't make it go in her eyes," my father warned my mother while the camera shook violently from him moving.

"Go get it Honey I'm a little busy here," without a word my father put the camera on the floor- aiming it at me who was still in the big tub that swallowed my lower half- and rushed away into the opposite room hunting for the phone.

"Hmm~ you're gonna look so pretty in that dress," my mother cooed, I nodded and clapped my hands. Still not able to talk when my father's concerned voice filled the room and ended the comfortable mood.

"What?.... Terrorists.. A.Are you okay?! ... Wh-... Where are you?... Okay," he put the phone down and rushed to our living area.

"What's wrong?" my mom unplugged the drain and let the water slurp down the hole. She wiped her hands and picked me up.

My dad was sitting down eyes glued to the television as I saw bright red and orange mixed together with black and grey puff around two tall skyscrapers.

"What? Oh my god?" my mom whispered. I felt the tense atmosphere and wriggled in her grip. "Um, we got a call about *****," my dad said.

"What happened to her?!" my mom shrieked. My dad looked down and I was confused but tears streaked down my mom's face as she hugged me closer.

"Didi!" I called out, my sister was usually home but had to attend business at work. Mother sat down with me on her lap and hugged me before whispering, "Didi is gone" and broke into a fit of tears.

And that's what happened. I remember it clearly and I cried while writing this too. It's a memory that's too valuable to let go of. Being only three years old I was attached to my sister and cried as I grew older, finally understanding what happened.

And for those who don't I'm here to explain.

The World Trade Center or know as The Twin Towers are two skyscrapers that are side by side and were- no are- a big landmark for us then and now.

That was the building that checked for new comers in our country and trade, no one expected it to be attacked and burnt down.

The right building called was the process building (where my Sis worked) and that was the first to get attacked.

A group of men hijacked a plane and brought it to New York. They dropped bombs on the left side and top, before finally bombing the others and crashing into them.

People were jumping out of the building in attempt to save their lives but were only killed. America was in panic mode, but at the same time The Pentagon- the US Army System Headquarters- was attacked in the west wing but was quickly attended to unlike the Twin Towers.

The building - all 47 storie high- dropped one floor at a time until it crashed, killing millions of innocent lives. More than 3 million people were killed but at least 50 were injured and 7 made it out alive.

12 years later today we are rebuilding it. Even higher than before. That was our landmark and no one expected it to be attacked.

We proved everyone wrong, right now standing tall and high and proud is the new World Trade Center. The highlight of American History. Proving we can outgo anything.

Now we show our respect and peace to those by symboling a Black Ribbon. That will forever be special.
