History: Lux grew up quite near the castle grounds in the town that surrounds it. Her family was actually close to the royal crown as Lucinas father and Lux's grandmother were Shephards together. The royal family were even in attendence for her birth ceremony and coming of age ceremony at age 16, where Lucina was 33. Her godmother is none other than Lucina herself who tends to treat Lux as a child even though she is close to 25 years of age already. Lucina and Lux's families are one of the oldest lines to live in Ylisse and can be traced back to the founding of the city.
Lux grew up hearing the fascinating stories of her grandmothers adventures with the Shephards and dreamed of being one herself since she was 6 years old. Her dream would finally be realized the day after her coming of age ceremony where Lucina knocked on her door and told her to pack her bags. The day she would finally move out the house to begin her training her mother pulled her aside to speak with her. She mentioned how proud she was of her daughter and knew she would do incredible things with her life. Before letting her go she handed her daughter a bundle of cloth. In the cloth was a delicate, silver bracelet. The bracelet shone every time she moved it around and the blue stone that adorned it seemed to move like waves of an ocean when she stared at it. Her mother held her hands and told her to keep it safe with her and to remember that her family loved her dearly. With tears in her eyes she hugged her mother tightly and managed to squeak out an "I love you" before heading out the door, bracelet safe in her pouch.
After a month of training Lux was finding it difficult to keep up with the rest of the recruits. They would fly past her in the hand to hand combat and once they got to practicing with a sword she worried she would have to drop out of Shephard training. A month and a half in to her training she was enjoying a break from all the activity and found the library the Shephards kept with books found during their travels. On one of the shelves was a black, leather bound book and when she picked it up she could almost feel it humming in her hands. No words graced the cover of the book but a strange writing filled its contents. What surprised Lux the most was how easily she could understand, and read, the strange writing she had never seen before in her life. As she read aloud one of the phrases she could feel the humming of the book bubble up into pure electricity which then shot out of her hand and unto the nearest lamp which broke upon impact. The sound of the lamp breaking led a pair of Shephards to the library where they asked her what happened and saw the book in her hands. The took her to Lucina's office and explained the situation. Expecting to be, at the very least, scolded for breaking the lamp instead she got a firm grasp of the shoulder by Lucina and one of her signature grins. It turns out that Lucina was worried that Lux wasn't cut out to be a Shephard so finding out she had a knack for tomes put her at great ease.
She would then be immediately put in the magic training, but that didn't mean she would stop training with swords. Months later and it was time to put the cadets into battle simulations where they would have to work as a unit and find the best strategy for victory. It wasn't until the first simulation where she realized she had a real knack for coming up with winning strategies. Lucina was again told about the success of Lux's first battle simulation and went unto the field to greet her. It spread around the training field that a new Tactician was found amongst the cadets and everyone wanted to team up with the Tactician for their assured victory in the battle simulations. Finally feeling like she belonged amongst her new family the rest of the training was a breeze and a year and a half later it was time for the cadets to graduate to full fledged Shephards.
Lux would be Lucinas personal Tactician and they would travel from Ylisse to the regions that surrounded to help ease tensions or settle disputes between families and even dealing with Barbarians that threatened farmers. It was early on in her Shephard career where she faced a particularly difficult time dealing with a couple of rowdy Barbarians disrupting the peaceful village. Lucina marched up to one of the Barbarians, a male who looked no older than 20 years of age and told him if he would not stop disturbing the village they would be forced to do something about it. The boy looked at the Shephards when his eyes finally landed on Lux. He grinned and told Lucina if the girl with pink hair could land a hit on him first, then they would leave the village alone. Lucina weighed her options, not wanting this to turn into a bigger project than it was she pushed Lux to the front of the group so her and the Barbarian could hold a faux-duel. Lux's hands shook and she could barely manage to hold unto her tome. One look at the fear that Lux had in her eyes and the Barbarian couldn't help but laugh. "Come on girlie, you can't even hold onto your little book?" That taunt was all that was needed to get Lux worked up. She balled her hands up and in one quick breath let go a zap of electricity straight to the Barbarians axe. The hit knocked the Barbarian back and on his where the other Barbarian tried to help him up he just shook his head.
"Well I gave my word. We'll leave the village alone." Lucina clapsed a hand on Lux's shoulder and smiled at her. As the Shephards watched the Barbarians leave Lux caught the eye of the young Barbarian one last time and before he turned back gave a small wink at her. She blinked and looked at Lucina to see what she thought but apparently Lucina hadn't noticed a thing. The Barbarian and his friend would meet up with the Shephards every so often while they were in the middle of a battle and eventually Lux learned of the boys name, Cal. Too bad she thought he was the most irritating person in the world, or she would've seen how much of a help he was in battle.
Age + Birthday: 24 + 11/30
Important People:
Cal | 26 | He and his Barbarian friend would help out in battles the Shephards found themselves in, even if the help was not asked or needed. Lux found herself needing to prove herself whenever he was around, just to shove it in his smug little face. | Whenever he's around Lux he turns into a smug bastard because he knows it gets under her skin. He's actually a pretty clever guy but usually goes head first into battle without planning before. He would much rather use his own two hands to settle things and doesn't like to rely on other people for help.

Personality:
What'chya got there? Lux is a very curious person, she loves to figure out how things work and is always interested in something new. If she hasn't experienced it before she'll leap at the chance to learn about it. That's actually why she wanted to be a Shephard in the first place, the stories of the foreign lands and strange customs her grandmother went to amazed her. She wanted to experience the world for herself, not just stick at the city for the rest of her life. She's a pretty affectionate person, not afraid to show her feelings but this comes with the expense of not being able to control her emotions well. If she needs to show a stoic cover, it will be quite difficult for her to do so if she is currently feeling sad or extremely giggly. She considers this one of her top weaknesses. When it comes to close friends she likes to laugh and play around most of the time, but with strangers or new comers to the team she'll be more wary of how she acts around them. With her superiors she becomes a statue, stiff and hard to move unless given an order. She doesn't want to be a problematic soldier or give superiors reason to yell at her for her incompetence.
Don't test me! Lux isn't very confident in her combat skills but she is very assured in her military tactics. Behind a map her whole demeaner changes and she can quickly analyze a situation and come out with a plan of action. She's been told back in training that her brain hasn't been wired properly for hand to hand combat so she needs to work extra hard to overcome that obstacle. Lux just think's she wasn't cut out to be a Shephard and if it weren't for her ability to read Tomes she would've been kicked out ages ago. The whole experience has left her with a big chip on her shoulder and she regularly tries to prove herself to the team. She will usually let others take the lead in the fight however, so she can analuze the situation and deal with it properly.
Likes: Enjoys a good fried stick of dough with lots of sugar - great after a long day of traveling and it's so simple to make;
Dislikes: Cold weather - so she uses her fire tomes to make herself warmer;
Trivia: Wants to study Dark Magic but is afraid of the negative views she may get; can't cook to save her life but she can make a mean fried dough on a stick;
Dream: Her ultimate dream is to travel the world and to come back home with stories that would enchant her mother like how her stories always enchanted Lux.
