::At First Glance::
Daeyeon is seen as somewhat unapproachable because her "resting face" is blank and can sometimes seem cold. She's respectful and kind towards strangers, especially her elders. She's soft-spoken and, once approached, smiles her best smile without coming off as too creepy or too happy.
::After a While::
Once someone gets to know Daeyeon, it's like she never shuts up. She talks about nearly anything and everything she can think of. Unfortunately, she has little to no "brain to mouth" filter and says whatever pops in her head. Sometimes her comments get her labelled as a "pabo," but she doesn't really let it effect her that much. She's not the smartest girl in the world, but she has a good bit of common sense. She's someone who would rather ask forgiveness than permission, but does in a way to remain respectful to her elders and her sunbaes.
Contrary to her first impression, Daeyeon is actually somewhat loud. No one has ever described her as obnoxious, but annoying has come up once or twice. She wants those around to be happy, so she sacrifices her own image to make sure that there's laughter.
::The Downside::
Due to her lack of a filter, some of the things Daeyeon says can come out as mean. She immediately apologizes once she realizes she's offended or upset someone, but it still happens. She's honest, and sometimes that can be a bad thing. She,
unfortunately, can be quite lazy at times and not want to clean or do anything and the other girls will have to make her - usually a bribe with sweets will work. Going along with her joking ways, many have said that she gets annoying; this is one of the only adjectives that can really upset her. She just wants to make people laugh, but sometimes she goes too far and becomes annoying rather than funny.
::The Idol::
When on stage, Daeyeon is focused on the performance. She puts her all into it no matter what. On some stages, she'll smile brightly and mess around with the other members - only on stages where it's acceptable, of course. On camera and in variety shows, Daeyeon makes random comments that may have nothing to do with what's going on; unfortunately for her fellow members, once she's been cornered and had something pointed out about her (like a habit or something), she'll call them out on something of their own and talk about it like it's a big deal even when it isn't. She's loud, plain and simple. Around fans, she mostly all smiles and silly little tidbits of "advice," which go more along the lines of, "Don't play leap frog with a unicorn."
Background : Daeyeon came from a poor family due to generations of horrible money managers. Her parents worked two jobs each to just make sure they had a roof over their head and food on the table. Daeyeon herself collected cans and plastic bottles to recycle for a little bit of money; she always kept this money a secret and kept it in a glass jug under her bed.
Despite not having much - or maybe because of not having much - the family appreciated and respected each other. They joked around and played games and made up games to play with one another because they were really all they had. Daeyeon grew up in a loving home that never out her down for anything; they were supportive of her no matter what she wanted to do.
Though the family didn't have much, as mentioned before, something they always had was music. They kept a small radio in each room of the house just so they could dance and sing along. So, when Daeyeon came to them telling them that she wanted to audition for a music company, they weren't surprised. They took her to the auditions she had signed up for and supported her all along the way. They were ecstatic when they found out she got accepted to SM.

- She's a vegetarian.

- Growing up, she collected recyclables and saved the money so she could buy her parents birthday and Christmas presents every year. Despite becoming an idol, she still does this to keep her tradition going.
- She almost always is seen with a water bottle full of pineapple juice; it's her favorite and she drinks it all the time.
- She's terrified of thunderstorms; she'll often be found under a table or her bed with her hands clamped over her ears until it's over or she passes out.

- She has a terrible sense of direction; she could get lost on her way to the bathroom. Once she's used to a certain route, she sticks to that route and never attempts short cuts or other ways of getting somewhere.
- She's failed her driver's test six times and has basically given up on getting her driver's license.

How you met : Daeyeon was walking around SM after her audition, trying to find her way out of the building when she bumped into him. He apologized as if it were his fault they ran into each other. She asked for directions out of the building, and he helped her by walking with her to the exit.
Relationship : They're considered a "cute couple" by those who know them. It's one of those everyone thinks they should be dating, but they either don't see it, or they're waiting for the right moment to start dating. They play around a lot. They're nearly always smiling when they're around each other.
Daeyeon always greets him by sneaking up on him and jumping on his back. She loves to make him squeak or make a sound when he gets surprised. They're very close to each other and tell each other almost anything. When they're together, they're either talking or playing silly little games like rock, paper, scissors. Daeyeon truly cares for Kris; she loves to make him laugh or make him blush and become flustered.
Kris finds Daeyeon endearing and sweet. He enjoys her company and truly cares for her. He can't see his future without her in it. He always wants her to smile, and he wants to be part of the reason she's always smiling. He'd do anything for her.

How you act to each other : They haven't really met, actually. When they do meet, Daeyeon is in awe because she's finally meeting her idol - the idol that kept her believing in herself. It's not a true rival feeling at all, mostly because it's a secret one-sided type rivalry that just keeps Daeyeon motivated.
