"She couldn't make it because she was busy?" I took the frame from his hands and placed it down again.

He only shrugged. "That's how it is..." He sang the words like they never mattered.

Did he really not care about his mother? It seems like his mother wanted to reach out to him, seeing how his room was taken care of, the littlest of his achievements posted high up on the walls... Though what about forgetting your own son's age? And having a relationship with his best friend?

Maybe he was right with what he said earlier... Maybe it was too late. Too late to care? Too late to consider his feelings? I'm not sure.

A knock from the door brought me out of my thoughts. "Dinner's ready. Your mom's waiting in the dining room, Kyuhyun. I'll meet you there."

Kyuhyun sighed and lazily pushed up from the bed. "Want to go for a quick one?" He wiggled his eyebrows at me when we came face to face.

I eyed him, then the door that was left ajar, and then back to him.
