Personality : Dorky and persevere are the most evident traits in Haneul. From her wide set of R E A C T I O N S to her really passionate personality, at first look it is very hard to hate Haneul. She's carefree and easy-going, a trait most oftenly shadowed because of her intimidating visuals and popularity amongst the men.

However, Haneul also has unforgivable flaws. For once, Haneul has a snobbish personality. Because of her influences in life, she tends to downgrade people she thinks are 'useless' This is why people misunderstand her and directly hates her from their core. Haneul is also unproficient in talent. Just like a lot of visuals at the moment, Haneul is not as talented as them in singing nor dancing. The only probable talent Haneul could consider herself proficient with is acting. Another flaw of her is being really blunt without minding if the opposite person would get hurt. She would say really bad comments about one's fashion style or way or living without feeling guilty about it.

Onstage, Haneul does not care if she sheds her image as an idol. She's mature and acts older than her age during variety shows, but still dorky and free-willed. That's why the HAHAFO (Haneul haters forever) was created. But her charisma and overflowing appeal when performing will never dissapear. Background : Haneul was born in July 16, 1992 at Seoul, South Korea. She was the youngest among the Kim's family's three daughters, two of whom are twins. At the early age of five, she and her whole family was forced to move at Los Angela, California due to a job opportunity her parent's couldn't miss.

Haneul was bombarded with love and appreciation during her early years, this is why she was spoiled and earned a trait of hers that is hated by many. The Kim twins, who are now successful lawyers, also showed loved and care for Haneul. During her long stay in the States Haneul developed multiple talents. No, not talents as in vocal and dancing talents but special talents. Talents like archery and taekwondo were just few of the many "talents" Haneul learned. She knew how to play sports professionally, ice skate, martial arts and more. In fact, she was part of her school's official skating team.

But unlucky she was when her mother died, leaving her motherless at the age of 14. Her father, who was then a very successful businessman, was absolutely  depressed and didn't care at all about her daughters. He took drugs and became an addict in the society. Youkyung and Youkyoung Kim, Haneul's older sisters, sent her to Korea alone to complete her studies and to get rid of all the bad memories left in LA. 

 

This is when music came to Haneul's life.

 

During the time Haneul was eagerly depressed and sad, music was the only thing that comforted her. Haneul lived in an apartment complex in Seoul and tried to live life as a teenager, well, normally. Oftenly, she took weird gigs like singing and dancing for street competitions. Although she did not win anything, this was a step to Haneul's life.

 

One day, she was recruited by a friend of hers to join a dance competition held by SM Entertainment. Haneul did not win, but she was found by a CJes crew and scouted her inside the label for four whole years.
