Identify: "WASSUP"

So I know this is a bit late but I couldn't get this group out of my mind without talking about them. I know that's what they want but I really feel the need to disect their debut.

Okay, so first and foremost. This debut made me feel extremely conflicted. I'm almost sad for these girls because they have so much potential that it frustrates me how much of a fail their first song was.

The song "Wassup, Wassup, Wassup, Wassup!" is really bad. It might stay in your head but in reality, it's a terrible song... if you can call it that. To me, the sound (and how they performed it) reminded me so much of a cheer dance routine from Bring It On.

*pinches nose* sigh... I was really dissapointed with this song. Then their was a comment that said "Nobody complained about Hyun'as bubblepop!"

Hmmm... number one, a lot of people complained. and no. 2, Hyuna's IMAGE might be a bit ty but the song was catchy and radio friendly. This however is not.

But, the reason I feel conflicted about this group is because.. look how they perform! They have great synchronization (for a rookie group anyway). They looked pumped and smiley and have all the enrgy in the world. Plus, techinically, they sounded good. and that Nada is a really good rapper. They could have been (and I'm serious here) the BEST rookie girl debut of the year, if they changed the song and the "twerking concept".

Because right now I'm still trying to figure out the Crayon Pop Bar Bar Bar obsession, but that's another blog for another time.

Now let's go back to the "TWERKING" concept, and I mean that in bold, capital letters.

Let me first explain was "twerking" really is - "The rhythmic gyrating of the lower fleshy extremities in a lascivious manner with the intent to elicit ual arousal or laughter in ones intended audience"

and let me be the one to say...  these girls ain't got no asses. (well, asses with some juice anyway).

What they were doing was "Popping" aka, shaking their butts. They were NOT twerking. Some will say "Aww but they were doing the twerking motion so they are technically twerking..."

and So? Just because I'm moving my jaw and opening my mouth doesn't mean I'm eating. You need wood to make a fire. You don't need a big to twerk, you just need to shake your jelly in a way that comes off as twerking.

oh and one last thing, the fake tans are horrible. It looks good on some (Like Hyorin) but very snooki-like on some of these girls. :|

So in conclusion, they could have been great but their MANAGEMENT stured them into the worng direction. Wasted talent, I hope they come back and show us what I'm missing because I feel sad, for them. :|

"asses with some juice anyway" lol i died at that comment.

anyways, the fake tans. the song. the shaking. the concept. None of it really worked, and the sad thing is it's hard to be successful after having a weak debut. Look at U-KISS, Block B, etc... they had the potential to win but never did because they had few loyal fans that stuck with them throughout their whole careers.

And yes, bar bar bar. Don't worry, I don't see it either.

i almost thought the same thing. this group has so much potential. the "twerking" concept and fake tans just ruined their debute for me. hopefully when they comeback theyll really shine. nara's my personal favorite and they all have such bright personalities. poop. im really curious to what they'll be doing next .-.
