personality: Hyung Jae, known as Jay amongst his friends, is someone who is kind and soft spoken outside the court. He is usually seen exhibiting a calm and observant personality. He is not one to walk up to anyone and start a conversation, but he does not mind talking to others. He is respectful to his peers, always taking care to be polite and respectful with his actions and words, seemingly making him look like a cold person. However, he is known to be a little more outgoing around those he considers his close friends and particularly enjoys teasing them. 

On the court, Jay demonstrates strong willpower and a brtually, honest attitude. He is very strict on the team as both the male team captain and coach. He refuses to lose as both team captain and as a player, and thus continuously pushes his team and himself to greater heights. He is not one to play for fun, but rather to win, and it has always been that way for him. He does not take pity on other players, believing that doing so will only weaken them, fooling them into thinking that they are truly better than what they are.

Here's my story

background: Jay grew up living next door to Sun Young and the two have been best friends since they were young children. He started learning tennis at the age of 5 and later met Min Soo at 8 in a tennis club. The two immediately formed a strong bond, and the three of them have been  best friends since. When he entered middle school, he challenged the senior team members and won every match, earning the right to be part of the regulars team along with Min Soo. Although he was a freshman at the time, he easily led the team to the nationals every year and won. He then graduated and moved into high school with Min Soo and Sun Young where he once again became captain despite being a freshman. 

In his year as a junior in high school, Jay suddenly fell ill after practice and was diagnosed with a neurological disease that causes paralysis of the limbs; Guillain-Barre Syndrome. He was admitted into a hospital to be treated, and Min Soo took over his spot as replacement team captain during his absence. Despite the surgery having less than 50% chance of success, he took the risk and the surgery turned out to be a success. However, while he can move more freely now, he is stillnot completely healed, though he is no longer in a life threatening situation. Not wanting his friends to worry, he lied and claimed that he was fully healed. 

how i got into tennis: Jay got into tennis when he was 5 years old. He and Sun Young were sent to a sports club to pick up a sport, and both found an attraction to tennis. From there, his passion for it grew, though he soon forgot how to play for fun and has been playing to win for about 10 years.
