Personality: With a face like that, one would instantly suspect Seojun of being immature and childish but he's quite the opposite. In fact, people have accused of acting like a total grandfather. He's calm and, for the most part, pretty rational and even-tempered. His dongsaengs claim he acts like an old man and Seojun considers himself to be the father figure of the group - he likes to try to keep the group in line, but sometimes they just can't be bothered to listen to him and he gets grumpy and whiny because of it. He's all about creative problem solving. If one method doesn't work, he'll come up with a completely outlandish yet effective way to solve his problems and fix things. He almost always believes that when there's a will, there's a way. He's quick on his feet and sharp as a tac, which has translated into great variety show skills.
Despite the fact that everyone certainly has a reason to, he hates for others to worry about him so he'll keep his sadder feelings to himself and maintain a happy-go-lucky front at all times, if he can help it. He's also shy when it comes to expressing his true feelings and instead will use metaphors or expressions instead of just directly telling things how they are. He sometimes ends up confusing those around him when he takes the roud-about way in explaining things to them and he'll refuse to clarify because he hates repeating himself.
Background: Seojun had your typical life growing up, living with his mother, father, and older sister in Nowon-gu, Seoul. He went to school, played soccer, and was in his school choir. When he was twelve, he accompanied his sister to an audition for Star Empire Entertainment and becamse interested in a life in entertainment. As much as he loved music and singing, he didn't think he was talented enough in music to make it as a singer, so instead he decided to try his hand at acting and discovered he had a legitimate talent for it.
He started out with small appearances in dramas, but landed his first role in a long-running sitcom (The Amazing Gong Family) in 2006. The show ran for 6 months with a total of 130 episodes and was successful enough to warrant a second season in 2007. After completing the first 30 episodes of the second season, Seojun was plagued with several bouts of gastritis causing him to miss filming several episodes. After one particularly bad episode, he was hospitalized for a week. His parents pulled him from his show and his character was written out so he could focus on being healthy. He was later diagnosed with Crohn's Disease.
Unfortunately, being pulled from the show somewhat harmed his reputation in the acting industry (he was tagged as being "unreliable") and landing roles became extremely difficult. For the next two years he only managed to land one role in a drama. He decided to revisit the music idea, especially after his older sister debuted in 2008. In 2009, he auditioned for Star Empire Entertainment to start training to be an idol (after all, idols crossing over into acting was becoming the norm). He was in the running to become a member of ZE:A, but in the end he wasn't chosen. He later transfered to another company where he was chosen to prepare debuting for the mysterious new group, Unforgettable.
