BECAUSE OF YOU MY HEART WEARS ARMOR NOW

background — Mei is the youngest of three children (all girls). She was born in October, 1993, and has always been the baby of her family. She's a daddy's girl, a mother's youngest, and her sister's baby sister. She was always well taken care of and her family always spoiled her a bit. However, Mei doesn't feel spoiled. Instead, she says that she has always been lucky to have such a loving family. Her family was by no means rich, but they were always well-off. They never struggled and Mei always had a house, food, and clothes. She couldn't have asked for anything more.
When Mei was five years old, mer mother put ice skates on her feet. Mei's sisters were both figure skaters, and they were both very talented and successful. However, Mei just didn't like the sport. She wasn't bad, she was actually very talented like her sisters, but she didn't find any enjoyment in it. She continued until she was ten years old, but then she decided to stop. Instead, she asked her mother for singing, dancing, and acting lessons. She wanted to be famous. Her mother agreed, and Mei got her first acting gig when she was eleven years old. She had many small commercial jobs and even had a role in a TV show as the child version of the main character. While Mei was succeeding in the entertainment industry, her sisters were succeeding in the figure skating world, becoming world-wide phenomenons in figure skating (especially Mao). In November, 2005, Mei traveled with her mother and sister, Mao, to attend one of Mao's international figure skating competitions, the Cup of China, in Beijing. While in Beijing, Mei found a poster for an audition for SM Entertainment. She begged her mother to let her go audition, and her mother agreed. Mei was accepted and she traveled to Seoul to audition once again. In Seoul, she passed the audition once again, and became an SM Entertainment trainee. She moved to Seoul on her own and lived with a Japanese family nearby during her trainee days. When she was placed in a group, she moved out of the family's home and into the dorm with the other girls.
In December, 2011, Mei received a call from her father about her mother. Her mother was suffering from liver cirrhosis and was admitted to the hospital. Mei quickly made arrangements with the company to fly to Nagoya and see her mother in the hospital. Her sister, Mao, was also flying in from a competition in Canada, and the two met in the airport. As they met, they both received a call from their father telling them that their mother had died. THe two drove to the hospital together to be with their father and sister, Mai. Mei stayed in Japan for two weeks before returning to Korea to resume her activities with the group.

personality in a flash — Kind, determined, competitive, self-perfectionist, introverted, easy-going, mentally strong, caring, loyal, funny, hard-worker

personality —  Mei is very kind and caring. She's a hard worker and determined young girl. She is emotionally sensitive, but doesn't let it show. Physically, she will fight through any injuries. She hates admitting weakness and prefers to fight through any pain that is thrown at her. If Mei ever complains about anything (physicall or emotionally) then you should listen because something is really wrong. One of the best statements that describes Mei is "98% of the things/events in her life, Mei does not really care about. However, that 2% that she does care about will be defended as if her life depended on it." Mei is very easy-going until it comes to things she really cares about, then she will stand up and fight for herself or the thing/person she cares about.
Mei is very introverted. She doesn't show her feelings and prefers to keep all her own worries to herself. She is shy around new people and finds it hard to keep conversations with people she doesn't know. She loves helping people and wants to make sure nobody in teh world is sad. She will easily sacrifice her own happiness for someone else's. Sometimes, she forgets about her own happiness in trying to make others happy, which is a downfall of hers. It's hard for her to say no to people, so it's easy to take advantage of her. However, as she's grown older, she's gotten a little better at it, but if it's someone she cares about, then it's still difficult for her. Mei is stubborn and competitive. When she is put in a competitive situation, a fire lights within her that nobody can quench. She will keep going until she collapses in order to win. She has a lot of fight in her and is easily frustrated with herself if she makes a mistake. She's a perfectionist with herself, but not others. Mei believes that everything she does should be perfect, otherwise, she's not good enough. She can easily accept other's faults, but not her own, and it drives her insane. She works hard to try and hide her imperfections, and she's very good at hiding them from others, but they're always there, and she easily sees them. She's very hard on herself to be the best, no matter what. Mei is also very humble and becomes embarrassed by compliments.
While Mei is a kind, strong, humble, diligent girl, she's also stubborn, self-critical, and a perfectionist. She has a soft spot for animals and children, loves music and acting, and can be a bit of a control freak sometimes. As long as there's order, Mei won't take charge. However, if there's chaos, Mei will easily step up to the plate and get everything organized again. She hates fighting and tries her best to keep people from arguing. Mei's personality is one that just blends in with the others, but she can shine on stage more than anyone else due to her drive to be the best.

fatal flaw —  Mei is very easy-going...sometimes too easy-going. She can easily be taken advantage of because it's hard for her to say no. When it comes to something very important, she will not stand for any crap. However, she tries her best to help others, and that sometimes means putting them before herself, and then she forgets about her own needs and what she needs. Shes very selfless, but it sometimes backfires on her when she's taken advantage of. Also, she's a self-perfectionist. If she makes a mistake, it might as well be the end of the world. However, if someone else makes a mistake, it's okay with her because they tried their best. She's kind of a hypocrite in this sense.

dress style — Mei's style is very simple. She enjoys wearing shorts when it's warm out and jeans when it's cold. She also likes to wear heels, especially ankle boots. She'll wear ankle boots during any weather and sandals  with a heel/wedge when it's warm out. As for shirts, Mei hates tops that are really tight and revealing. She really doesn't like tight tank tops or tight T-shirts. She'll wear a tank top underneath a loose sweater, but not on its own. She's more conservative and doesn't like showing cleavage, afraid that the shirt might slip and reveal a bit more. She likes skirts and dresses as long as they aren't too tight /revealing.

family Father | Toshiharu Asada | 51 (2013) | Businessman | 4 | He's a very kind, caring father. He's also rather easy-going, like Mei. He's funny and supportive as well. He tries his best to support for his family and keep them all happy. Mei is very grateful to her father, who has done everything he can to make sure she was well taken care of and happy.
Mother | Kyoko Asada | 50 (2013) | Unemployed (Died in 2011) | 5 | Mei was extremely close with her mother. Her mother was always with her and taking care of her. She supported Mei through everything and was extremely sad when Mei left for Korea (but also happy that her daughter was following her dreams). She was a kind-hearted woman who had a heart of gold. She was a bit stubborn and strict however, but that never made Mei love her any less. In fact, Mei believes that she got her strength from her mother's toughness. Her death deeply affected Mei, as well as her entire family.
Sister | Mai Asada | 25 (born in 1988) | Model | 4 | Mai was once a figure skater, but she stopped in order to be a model. She is a very famous model in Japan and she works hard at it. Mai is more like her father - very funny and easy-going. She's not afraid to be herself around people. She's goofy and kind. She's also a tough and rational person.
Sister | Mao Asada | 23 (born in 1990) | Figure Skater | 5 | Mao is a very accomplished figure skater. She won the silver medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics and is a figure skating World Champion as well. She's very talented, but she doesn't let it get to her head. She's very down to earth and Mei's idol. The two are very close and Mei always calls Mao for any advice that she needs. Mao is very giving, like Mei, and the two are best friends.

close friends  Kwon BoA | 22 | Solo singer | 5 | Boa is very kind and caring. She's a supportive person and a great sunbae. She taught Mei a lot and was able to communicate with Mei in Japanese. She's a hard-worker and also a perfectionist, like Mei. Even though she appears intimidating, she's actually very easy to talk to and is a great, loyal friend. | They met when Mei attended an SM party for new trainees. Boa was there and approached Mei, speaking to her in Japanese. Even though Boa's Japanese wasn't perfect, Mei understood enough and she ws grateful that someone opened up to her. | Boa takes the place of Mei's sisters in Korea. She is very kind and takes care of Mei like a little sister. The two are great friends and they always support each other. They text everyday, even during their busy schedules, and make sure to send encouraging messages to each other to keep the other going.
Kim Myungsoo (L) | 16 | Infinite member | 4 | Myungsoo appears quiet and closed off, but he's actually very funny and kind of weird. He's kind and supportive and can be very cheesy sometimes. He's a hard-worker and loves acting, like Mei. | The two met when Myungsoo and Mei acted in a CF together before his debut in 2009. | The two became close friends even after Infinite debuted and Myungsoo became L. Mei was actually the one to give Myungsoo the nickname L, as she knew about the anime "Death Note" and said that her first impression of Myungsoo was that he was like L. Together, they are crazy and can never stop laughing. They can be serious sometimes too, as Myungsoo is a great listener (as well as Mei is) and they can tell each other any problems that they might have.
Song Qian (Victoria) | 21 | f(x) member | 4 | Victoria is a motherly type of person. She's very caring and tries to make sure everything is in order. She will stop whatever she is doing to make sure that her members, friends, and family are ok and would die for any of the people she cares about. She's also a determined person who works hard at what she does and tries to be the best in everything. She's also very open to trying new things. | Mei and Victoria met in Korean classes at SM. The two learned together (with Yixing) and they became a lot clsoer. Mei taught Victoria some Japanese while Victoria taught Mei some Chinese. | Victoria is like Mei's mother. She has always been there to support Mei and keep her grounded as well. She is very kind and caring. Mei is very grateful to Victoria, who has taken care of her since they first met at SM.

LISTEN BOY. MY FIRST LOVE STORY.

love interest — Zhang Yixing (Lay) ~ EXO

personality — Yixing is very kind, caring, and forgetful. He can easily forget things and has trouble being on time. If he remembers his headphones, he forgets his iPod. If he remembers his iPod, he forgets his headphones. Despite this, he's a very hard worker and will work until his body falls apart. He has a habit of asking questions only to answer them himself. He's usually a bit shy and spaces out sometimes, but when someone is able to get him to talk, he easily opens up and is hysterical. He isn't afraid to tell jokes and make a bit of a fool out of himself. He's also extremely respectful and always bows 90 degrees, no matter who he's bowing to. He is always thankful for every opportunity he's given and always sorry when he can't do his best. He's a self perfectionist, like Mei. He's also very caring and will help anyone in need. He's very smart too, always able to figure out situations easily. Overall, he's kind, caring, respectful, grateful, stubborn, hard-working, forgetful, supportive, smart, and funny.

their tale — They met in the SM Entertainment Korean language classes. Even though Lay was not a trainee when Mei was first learning Korean, Mei continued to attend classes even after debut in order to better her Korean skills. She met Lay there and encouraged him, also helping him out with the language when she could. At first, it was awkward, because Lay only knew Chinese (a language that was foreign to Mei), but they both managed. As Lay learned more, they became much closer til they were best friends. Lay then asked Mei out a month before he debuted, which startled Mei. However, she accepted, and they've been secretly dating ever since. A few days before Lay debuted, the two went to the company and told them of their relationship. The company allowed it, as long as they did their best to keep it secret. The two agreed and they have managed to make their relationship work. They're very cute together and always hug and kiss each other when together.

backup love interest — Lee Taemin ~ SHINee

personality — Taemin is, to put it simply, an angel. He's very innocent and kind. He's easy to talk to and supportive. He can tell jokes and find things that are funny in not so funny situations. He's very optimistic and always tries to see the bright side of things. He's a hard worker and loves what he does. He's always happy and kind to whomever he sees and his smile can light up a room.

their tale — Taemin and Mei became trainees around the same time. Taemin found Mei to be adorable, but was intimidated by the fact that she spoke no Korean. They were in the same dance class together. Taemin always admired Mei from afar, and Mei never knew about this. When Mei debuted before Taemin, he was dissapointed that she debuted before him, so he worked harder so that he could be on the same level as her. When he finally debuted, he gained the courage to speak to her. He would always go to her during SMTown concerts and any activities that they had together. Mei found Taemin very respectful and cute. Many fans shipped them together, but it wasn't until Taemin asked Mei out that she started to fall for him. Taemin loves to hold Mei's hand and hug her, and Mei loves when he does that.

do you want a love rival? — No, that's ok :)

SO TELL ME YOUR WISH!

stage name — Mei (it's her birth name)

stage persona — The Awkward Star (because of her personality. When she's acting or on stage, she's a star that nobody can outshine. However, when she's on variety shows, interviews, or radios, she becomes very quiet, introverted, and awkward.)

fanclub — Stars (A. because of her "position" B. she has a star-shaped birthmark on her left ankle C. she was a child-star through pre-debut activities and her older sister (Mao))

talent stats —

singing - 55/100

dancing - 90/100

rapping - 60/100

variety - 35/100

acting - 80/100

vocals — Chorong (APink) ~ Link 1 | Link 2 | Link 3

dance — Bora (Sistar) ~ Link 1 | Link 2 | Link 3

rap — Chorong (APink) ~ Link 1

talents — She's a great actress/model. She also has a great figure, thanks to her time spent on the ice as a child. She is still a decent ice skater and a remarkable athlete, thanks to her great coordination. She picks up choreography very fast (she just needs to watch once) and she knows her body well. She's also a great song writer/composer.

audition  —  Mei traveled to Beijing with her mother and older sister, Mao, for one of Mao's international skating competitions in November, 2005. While in Beijing, Mei saw the sign for the global casting audition and her mother allowed her to audition, never expecting her to be accepted and asked to travel to Seoul for a second audition. A few weeks later, Mei attended another audition in Seoul and was officially cast into the company.

weak points —  Mei's singing is only average. She wishes that she could sing better, but she just can't control her voice that well. Her voice control depends on the day, really. Some days she can hit a high note, but most days her voice cracks. She's also rather shy when it comes to variety, as she's not used to getting in front of a camera and being loose and funny. She tenses up and feels like she needs to pose or act instead of be herself. It also doesn't help that her Korean language level is not on an extremely high level. On variety shows, she's very quiet and introverted and prefers to sit back while her other members crack the jokes. However, the more members she's with on a show, the more comfortable she is, and the more likely it is that she will be more herself and forget that the camera is there.

trainee life —  Mei's trainee life was lonely. She wasn't bullied or outcasted (not on purpose), but because she was foreign and didn't speak Korean very well, she never had the opportunity to make many friends. She sees it as a good thing and a bad thing. Mei believes that it was her lack of social interactions that allowed her to debut so quickly, as instead of spending her free time getting lunch with friends and fellow trainees, she spent it practicing her dancing, singing, rapping, and acting. However, it is a bad thing because she believes that the lack of interaction with Korean people caused her to not learn the language quick enough before debut, which is why her Korean language skills are only basic.

what drives them — Mei's motivation is her sister, Mao. Mao has always inspired Mei to be the best she can be and work hard. When Mei stopped skating, she felt like she was missing a part of her life. She felt like she lost the drive that Mao had, and she wanted that drive as well. When she got into SM, she was able to grasp that drive and push forward with it. Mao supports her everyday and Mei would never have been able to survive the harsh, lonely training without Mao.

goals — Mei's ultimate goal is to be an accomplished actress. She's always loved acting and was famous in Japan for her child acting skills. She hopes to be a famous actress in Korea also.

rival —  Choi Jinri (Sulli) | f(x) | Friendly rivalry. They two are accomplished actresses and they try to see who can get the most acting, modeling, and promotion gigs in one year. They always support each other, no matter who wins.

I GOT A BOY, A HANDSOME ONE! I GOT A BOY,A KIND ONE!
