four personality traits: caring, cheerful, reliable, responsible
personality: Everyone calls her Joo around campus and she's known for her sweet smile and motherly aura around her. There's no one on campus who doesn't know her. She's like a mother figure for everyone, she's always open to giving people advice and will put time off to just sit and listen to someone else's problems. Helping solve peoples' problems and making them smile again makes her feel proud of herself, like she's found a purpose for her existence. She's also great fun to be around with an amazing and witty sense of humor as well as her infectious smile and laugh. She's a daydreamer and often exaggerates things, making it hard for her to differentiate reality from fantasy. She always gives good advice and is like an unmovable rock who will always be there for you, despite needing a rock for herself.

She's passionate about music and loves playing the viola as well as being in the orchestra, her campus life basically revolves around it. Her passion can sometimes become a negative thing as well. If she has an opinion she's not afraid to voice it out and because she's so passionate about the subject, she'll become stubborn and won't give up until the end.

Being a senior means she has many more responsibilities and she works hard with a smile on her face because she likes seeing the new faces coming into the orchestra. The thing she hates the most is disappointment and being disappointed. She works hard so everyone can smile because of her and is she ends up disappointing someone, she'll feel so bad and would have no idea what to do. Joo is so trusted with the teachers and students, sometimes the pressure to be a good role model can be too much and most people -especially her female hoobaes- seem to rely on her. She does genuinely care about them and their problems, she cares so much to the point she forgets about her own troubles -and pushes them to the side- and sometimes forces herself to smile and seem alright in front of everyone. Through sadness, pain and anger she still smiles. 2 years ago when the orchestra fell apart, she didn't know what to do and most people were losing themselves and becoming overly emotional, she remained smiling like a rock because if everyone becomes absorbed in their emotions who will be there to calm them down?

trivia:

Joo likes: ducks, music, reading, writing, chocolate cake, smiling and being trusted and relied on.

She dislikes: seafood, arrogant people, being lonely.

She's the worst cook on the face of the planet, she almost set her cereal on fire and made an egg explode because she put it in an oven. She's superstitious and believes in fate.

Her favourite number is 5 and she loves the colour red. If she saw 5 red ducks in a row she's die of happiness and think it's a sign of good luck.

background: Growing up, she was pampered to no end because she the young, smart only child of her household, but there were always huge expectations weighing down on Kyung Joo's shoulders, which is how she learnt to cope with all the responsibilities now. Ever since she was younger, she was trained to work hard in school, especially when in science lessons and her parents would always say 'have one goal and don't get distracted with other small things along the way to your success. She was quite distant from her father, who was workaholic doctor who never left the hospital but she and her mother were extremely close. The only downside was her mother also heavily influenced by her father and wanted her to be a doctor as well. ' The main goal that her family had set for her was to be a doctor. Being the filial child she was, Joo almost abided with their dreams without any complaints and she could have been studying medicine by now had it not been for her cousin who soon moved in with them. Her cousin was the only person she could trust and they told each other everything. Her cousin played the flute and was in an orchestra. Seeing and listening to the sound of music made Joo feel complete. She completely fell in love with music, but she preferred the viola's sound to the flute's. Together they would talk endlessly about music and slowly Joo developed a passion towards it. She secretly signed up for viola lessons at school and went there instead of an after school hakwon. She told her parents nothing of her playing music, because she could just imagine how disappointed they'd be, even until the day of her college entrance exam. Even if she had told them they wouldn't have supported her, they were too busy trying to make her future for her, they could've even forced her to quit. On the day of her college entrance exam, her father told her to write 'medicine' as her desired course, but she decided for once she didn't want to be their 'perfect' daughter. She didn't want to obey they instructions and follow the plan that they'd made for her, without even caring about her opinions. Instead of medicine, she wrote music.

relations:
Ahn Hwan Hee | father | 40 | doctor | ambitious, a workaholic, short tempered, cold | they have a cold, hostile relationship after the entrance exam incident -not that they weren't already distant- but he's still prepared to pull her out of music and put her into medicine.

Kim Ah In | mother | 32 | house wife | gentle, kind, cheerful, smart | She cares about Joo and care about what makes her happy, but she is influenced by her husband and also thinks she should be a doctor.

????? | cousin | ?? | student | solemn, insecure, prideful, dishonest | They're really close and trust each other to no end. Joo is always on her side and tries to help her all the time, especially when it comes to becoming more honest and friendly. Joo knows that her cousin isn't as strong as she makes herself out to be, and wants her to completely open up.

〈 polyphonic 〉

name: Park Chanyeol
his position in orchestra: clarinet player
date of birth: 11/27/1992

back-up: Xi Luhan

personality: The confident, frivolous flirt of the orchestra. There's not a girl in the whole of the college he hasn't hit on. His sweet talk could make even the coldest heart melt, but not Joo's. The way he's so confident that he can get any girl he wants makes her slightly annoyed. He's blunt and straight forward, if he sees a girl that looks like his type walk through the door he'll immediately tell her she's his type with that dorky smile that's always on his face. He's quite passionate when it comes to music and always strives to make himself better.

relationship: They first met back in high school. Despite her being a whole year older than him and his sunbae, he would always annoy her and talk to her at the most randomest of times, sometimes he would be stupid enough to try one of his pick up lines on her for fun. In high school he was actually quite intrigued with the gentle, seemingly flawless girl who was so different from all the snobby, rich pricks that went to their school who always used profanity and would do anything to get into his pants. Coincidentally they ended up in the same college, even though he'd sworn she could have gotten into Seoul University because of her grades and secretly watched her from afar. Her calm and gentle personality hadn't seemed to change at all, but he noticed something was different. Maybe it was the way her smile seemed a little more carefree and happy, but it definitely made him take notice of her again. He wanted to know more about her, but didn't know how. Again, like a coincident, he entered the school orchestra and he met her again. Joo knew he was going to try and annoy him again, but seriously didn't expect him to announce to the whole orchestra, "It's fate! Noona, I'm definitely going to get steal your heart!"

She generally tries to ignore all his advances, but even she can't ignore his sweet words. He is persistent and doesn't even take the hint that she isn't interested, or more like he's ignoring it. Whenever he gets the chance he'll follow Joo everywhere, like a puppy and try to work his 'player ways' on her. He helps her carry her viola and books everywhere, he sits with her at lunch and shamelessly uses the excuse of 'I don't know how to do this part' so they can stay together after practice. But most importantly whenever Joo needs help or is in trouble, he'll always magically be right by her side and help her with a reassuring smile. Joo is slightly suspicious, Chanyeol had always been a player, why did he suddenly want her heart now? Slowly, Chanyeol become a big part of her life, when he's not with her she feels so empty. He may be annoying and a huge flirt but he did make her smile a whole lot more and he seemed to genuinely care whether or not she was OK. He wanted her to open up more and rely on him when she had no one else to. He was like her rock to lean on -despite her being a rock for so many other people- if someone took her rock away she'd fall over and have no one else to lean on.

〈 f i n a l movement 〉

what is your position in the orchestra?: Other than just being a viola player, I like to think that I'm the umma of the orchestra hehe.

why did you want to join?: I just love music, ever since my high school days I could never get enough of it. Truthfully, even though some people might not believe this, I love orchestra! If I played by myself I could never get enough motivation to get better and if I ever played a solo in front of lots of people I'd probably get stage fright. Being in orchestra is like a family ^^ and because there are other players it gives me more determination to get better at playing my viola!

your performance is tomorrow! what will you do?: Yeah! I'm really excited! I probably will practice until like 11 before I try to get some sleep. Of course, I'm really looking forward to it, but it's mostly because it's my hoobaes' day as well as my own; we're a team! I'm just slightly worried I might mess up and bring the whole team down with me.

〈 e n c o r e 〉

questions/comments?: hope she's not too boring XD

scene suggestions?:

- After orchestra rehearsal, Chanyeol walks Joo to her next class across campus, they're walking and she's getting annoyed because he's a little pushy and keeps declaring he's going to make her fall madly in love with her. While they're talking he suddenly takes her viola out her hands and their fingers brush.

- Joo loses her cool with Chanyeol and starts yelling at him,

"Why do you keep following me everywhere?! Why do you suddenly 'want my heart' now?! What kind of stupid thing are you planning?"

"I'm not-"

"Don't lie, you probably made a bet with someone-"

"These are my sincere feelings, you can choose whether or not to believe them."
