Personality:

Onstage: The moment Kyuhae steps onto that stage, it's like time stops and everyone has to get a good look at this person who's very presence is dominating everything. It's not like she wants all the attention per say, but with her confident and laid-back attitude, she's very hard to miss. She's the sort of person who will interact with her fans too, instead of just wandering around the stage. She likes the idea of being close to her fans, so she won't hesitate to sign an autograph or to shake hands with people in the crowd.

She will usually go around to the other members and do some light skinship with them. Kyuhae also does what some company members call the "Donghae move", which is when an idol will just sit on the stage and stay there for a while. It's called the "Donghae move" because he is the one that does it the most.

Offstage: Once Kyuhae's offstage, she tends to blend in well with her surroundings, becoming a little quieter and not as quick to do something weird. She interacts well with other company members and she is quite happy to sit with someone and watch them do whatever it is they're doing (example; watching Kyuhyun play Starcraft).

Overall: A happy-go-lucky girl, who's headstrong with a heart of gold. She's always had a love for adventure and isn't one to get shy in front of people and/or a camera. She is a very quick thinker and has a smart mouth, which is usually two sides of the coin; meaning it can get her in trouble one minute and then save her the next.

Although she's usually very bright and friendly, Kyuhae does start to hide away whenever she's feeling upset, lonely or angry. She's not one to tell people when she's down, preferring to keep them in the dark but becoming a shadow that blends in with everything she shouldn't - unless of course she's is a seriously bad mood, then she will become the obnoxious brat from hell. She becomes stubborn, headstrong and develops a razor sharp tongue. She also becomes brutally honest, so if you're sensitive or weak-hearted, steer clear of Kyuhae.

Although she does become a little less of a brat as she calms down, Kyuhae also develops a nasty habit of snapping at people and saying offensive things (even if it is unintentional).

Background:

Born and raised in Brisbane, Australia with the name Kadence Jang. She was one of two children - the other being her twin brother Jason (who's technically 3 minutes older than her). After the twin's birth, her mother suddenly was unable to have any more children. As the only girl in her immediate family - which included her 3 cousins that lived around the corner, she was generally a bit spoilt.

Growing up, Kadence was the usual girl-next-door, polite, friendly and always happy to be around people. Through her elementary school years, she had plenty of friends and she always got good remarks from her teachers - who were impressed at how smart Kadence seemed to be. When Kadence was 6, she and her brother showed interest in learning how to dance and sing, so her father agreed for them to attend lessons every week.

Jason and Kadence were very close as siblings and barely ever fought - despite the stereotype that siblings fight all the time. Jason was extremely protective of her as they entered high school, which usually meant that quite a few boys would come to school with black eyes - having faced the wrath of Jason for gawking at his sister.

A few months before they turned 17, Jason suddenly announced that he wanted to move to Korea - to continue his search for a music career. Due to their parents busy lives, they weren't able to make the move to Korea with him - but Kadence decided she'd follow him. So, at 17, the twins packed their bags and moved to Korea. Both enrolled in Seoul Performing Arts High School and were instantly snapped up on the street walking home from school.

With new names of Hanbyul and Kyuhae respectively - the twins were scouted by two companies; Starkim and SM. The Starkim scout was looking for someone that could sing in a band, while the SM scout was looking for a new girl group member - and the two fit the bill perfectly. With the two needing only two more years to complete their schooling, they agreed.

Donghae is the 5-year-old of Super Junior (in the words of Kyuhyun), always wanting or needing attention and sulking when he doesn't get it. He doesn't like to be alone and gets lonely very easily. He's really sensitive and can feel ignored, even if you're sitting right next to him. If you don't pay him strict attention, he'll think he's done something wrong and he pouts. He also isn't very good at reading people's moods. He won't cry easily - but he can get upset pretty quickly, especially if you strike a sensitive chord in his mind (a.k.a his deceased father - who was the one that wanted him to become a singer). He doesn't drink or smoke as a promise to his father and he is known to be really close to Eunhyuk. He's super funny, caring and absolutely adores kids. He wants to be a father at some point, but that's a while off.

Relationship¦

Donghae and Kyuhae are very close and Donghae is the person to most often see Kyuhae's unguarded side. Although he's only ever seen her cry once, Donghae knows Kyuhae like the back of his hand and is the most accustomed to her strange mood swings. Kyuhae is like Donghae's diary - always listening to him whenever he wants to rant or complain about something and she's always there for him when the stress of being an idol gets too much. On camera they're sort of like the skinship gods - always hanging around eachother and holding hands. Off camera they're less touchy, but they'll still hang around each other and play games.

Trainee life¦

Kyuhae's trainee days were fairly easy. She made friends with her fellow trainees - recognising some from her classes at school. She was surprised at how diverse the nationalities were within her trainee batch - finding herself with some Japanese, Chinese and even American friends. Which is where she recieved her Chinese and Japanese names from. Being apart from her brother was a little difficult - as she was told to stay at the dorms made for the trainees. Although she did get homesick a few times, Kyuhae had plenty of friends to keep her on track and to stop her from making a rash decision and fleeing back to Australia.
