there's nothing wrong with cliches. it's when no one ever puts a twist or tells a cliche in a new way that it gets tiring.

Cliches aren't bad, it's the people who react to the cliches and how they treat certain cliches that is bad.

Depends if you serve the cliche alone.
If it has a side dish or a variation, you got me hooked. If the cliche is actually the side dish or there's a fusion, even better.
