Secrets to Effective Fanfiction Writing
Hi guys so many are asking why I update so fast, why I have good storylines, why I write good fanfics and what are my SECRETS. Well if you wanna know keep on reading.
So ... what are my secrets? I'll keep it simple and easy to understand.
st, I love writing. In fact, it took me a while to discover that I have a talent for coming up with good stories. I think if you love writing and if you put your heart into it you'll be able to come up with a good story.
nd, I daydream ... A LOT. I love Jonghyun and I love putting these dreams into writing.
rd, I listen to music when i write. It keeps me concentrated. Well this part depends on every person though, some people prefer working in quiet environments rather than loud ones.
th, work somewhere you're comfortable in. If you're working in a conducive place for writing I'm sure you'll be able to think, organize and clear your thoughts.
th, take breaks. If you think you can't write, stop. Eat, play or do something else. Don't force yourself to write because you'll end up writing something you wouldn't want. For example a boring, not interesting chapter.
th, some people have inner talents so make sure to use them. To be honest, I don't really plan things when i write new chapters for my stories. I do them on-the-spot when i sit and start typing in front of my laptop. I let ideas come in and then I think and think and think until i come up with a good chapter.
th, accept criticisms from other people. Negative comments mustn't degrade you. In fact, it's one way of improving your writing. No one is perfect anyway. If you have mistakes, accept them and then correct them. That's so easy to do right?
th, don't forget to reread the chapters you write. You'll be able to know if you made a good chapter if you yourself gets afftected when reading (you laugh at funny parts, cry at drama parts etc)
th, don't PLAGIARIZE other people's works. You can get ideas but make sure you don't copy paste them.
th, check your grammar and sentence construction. English is not my first language and I'm abosulutely sure that my english at times but still i don't forget to check and reread them. Furthermore, some readers don't like stories with bad grammar most especially when they are hard to understand. No offense. I just noticed it.
th, read the comments from the readers. Some readers give good suggestions and ideas. Their reactions for every chapter are DAEBAK sometimes. I love reading long comments. They make me happy. :)
th, if you don't think you can write anymore ... get a co-author! Two heads are better than one!
th, read good fanfictions. An author should be a reader as well.
th, make attractive story posters. It'll help you get more subscribers when they see a cute/adorable poster. BUT, make sure you have a good description and foreword so it would go hand-in-hand with the poster.
th, get help from your friends. I do it. When i want to start a new story, i allow my friends to criticize it first.
th, problems with original character names? Translate your friends' name into korean and you'll get your own characters. Every character name (original) in my story are based on my friends names.
th, BE CREATIVE.
th, Practice ... Practice ... Practice.
th, read books! You'll get inspired!
th, if you can't write really good english then keep the sentences simple and easy to understand.
st, Eat sweets. It'll stimulate your brain to think!
nd, Sleep! :) Rest your brain and you'll have more ideas!
Okay that'll be all for now. I hope this blog helped you. Goodluck writing everyone! :)
