Have you gotten a story featured?

I really want to get at least one o my stories featured. :/ the ones I get the most attention from are my stories. :/ I guess because that's what people want to read but my other stories are longer. My stories are only oneshots. :/ can you guys check them out? I'm kind of unsure if I'm going to continue them. :p one of them got a huge amount of love so I'm writing the sequel. :P

Well I've made friends with people who are featured in all sorts of ways. Like PaboPanda advertised and eventually got featured for most upvotes or whatever. Then SkyeLin got the random daily feature. Tell them I sent you if you talk to them :)
I personally would be honored if I got featured with upvotes and stuff, but getting there is a hassle and I probably wouldn't be happier if I did get featured, because at the end you just have people coming by and saying "Congrats" for karma, probably ing about you behind your back, and the readers who come don't even give you feedback.
I rather have only 20 readers who gave me feedback every single time I posted a chapter or at least gave me some kind of reaction at one point or another while I'm writing then being featured.

I have no desire to be featured haha, even though it would be a great compliment. I write for myself mostly and as long as people like my stories - no matter how few people - I'm happy ^^ But I really do like you're writing; you deserve to be featured!

Basically write bc you love it. It's more fun that way. If you do, then people will recognize that element and will up vote you naturally. To me the feature system seems like something you have to really work yourself up to. If you do get featured, great. But don't make it something to strive for, you know?

It's pretty hard to get featured. Even Some of the top 100 on AFF authors haven't even gotten featured. Getting featured is more how many up votes you have and usually about 10% of subbies vote up a story. And most featured stories have 300+ up votes (less for M stories). :/ I wouldn't make getting featured as your main goal, bc you'll be frustrated with how actually unlikely it is. It's still possible to be popular on AFf without being featured. Sure it's nice to be appreciated and well known on AFF but some people take it way too far. I'm have 1400++ total unique subscribers and I'm ranked around top 500 under most popular authors, and even I don't make getting featured a priority. It helps a lot if you're already hugely established on AFF, which is why a lot of the top few authors are the ones getting featured.
