Why Ship Sulay?

Man, I just realized I've written over 10 sulay stories. That's a lot (at least for me it is). And it got me thinking... Why do you guys ship sulay? It's a pairing that has gotten a lot of hate since they're known as the "leftovers" when you pair everyone for standard OT12 (kaisoo, baekyeol, hunhan, taoris, xiuchen, sulay).

Truthfully, I write a lot of sulay because they're my friend's OTP. She adores sulay fluff. (Though I'm not the type of person who's good at writing fluff, sigh....) I've found that sulay is one of the harder pairings to write because they have significantly less moments than other pairings. It's hard for me to imagine how they would interact with each other. I like writing sulay because I see it as a challenge, and, as a writer, I hope I've done a good job of portraying my characters in whatever situation they face.

I'm also on a mission to bring sulay to the fandom because there isn't enough sulay .

I actually first started shipping them because I read this other fanfic, but then I started to stan Lay (heavily). When I started stanning Lay, I thought that he really deserved someone who cares about him and would always think of him if he was away. I saw a bunch of stuff on tumblr about the stuff Suho says (for fans to take care of Lay, that he's glad to see lay healthy in china, that he loves him, etc) and I really got into it. (Sorry this was kind of a long comment, but I was actually on a search for why other people ship it, too! I just wanted to answer this question even though it was from three years ago lol)
