personality [At First Glance]

Sun Jae is seen as somewhat unapproachable because her "resting face" is blank and can sometimes seem cold. She's respectful and kind towards strangers, especially her elders. She's soft-spoken and, once approached, smiles her best smile without coming off as too creepy or too happy.
[After a While]
Once someone gets to know Sun Jae, it's like she never shuts up. She talks about nearly anything and everything she can think of. Unfortunately, she has little to no "brain to mouth" filter and says whatever pops in her head. Sometimes her comments get her labelled as a "pabo," but she doesn't really let it effect her that much. She's not the smartest girl in the world, but she has a good bit of common sense. She's someone who would rather ask forgiveness than permission, but does in a way to remain respectful to her elders and her sunbaes.
Contrary to her first impression, Sun Jae is actually somewhat loud. No one has ever described her as obnoxious, but annoying has come up once or twice. She wants those around to be happy, so she sacrifices her own image to make sure that there's laughter.
[The Downside]
Due to her lack of a filter, some of the things Sun Jae says can come out as mean. She immediately apologizes once she realizes she's offended or upset someone, but it still happens. She's honest, and sometimes that can be a bad thing. She, unfortunately, can be quite lazy at times and not want to clean or do anything and the other girls will have to make her - usually a bribe with sweets will work. Going along with her joking ways, many have said that she gets annoying; this is one of the only adjectives that can really upset her. She just wants to make people laugh, but sometimes she goes too far and becomes annoying rather than funny.
[The Idol]
When on stage, Sun Jae is focused on the performance. She puts her all into it no matter what. On some stages, she'll smile brightly and mess around with the other members - only on stages where it's acceptable, of course. On camera and in variety shows, Sun Jae makes random comments that may have nothing to do with what's going on; unfortunately for her fellow members, once she's been cornered and had something pointed out about her (like a habit or something), she'll call them out on something of their own and talk about it like it's a big deal even when it isn't. She's loud, plain and simple. Around fans, she mostly all smiles and silly little tidbits of "advice," which go more along the lines of, "Don't play leap frog with a unicorn."

background Sun Jae came from a poor family due to generations of horrible money managers. Her parents worked two jobs each to just make sure they had a roof over their head and food on the table. Sun Jae herself collected cans and plastic bottles to recycle for a little bit of money; she always kept this money a secret and kept it in a glass jug under her bed.

Ryu Geum Seong | 54 | Mother; they're very close. Geum Seong is very supportive of Sun Jae, and loves her very much. They pick at each other playfully when they're around one another, and it's obvious they have a strong mother-daughter bond.
Ryu Hyun Jun | 63 | Father; they're also very close. Sun Jae is an obvious daddy's girl, and Hyun Jun would do anything and everything just so his daughter can have a good life and be happy. Around each other, they're playful - much like Geum Seong and Sun Jae are together. 

Ryu Moon Pyo I 22 I Twin Brother: They're also very close. Sun Jae loves her brother very much and he love her too he would do anything for her.

Lee Jinki (Onew) | 23 | Idol - SHINee | Onew and Sun Jae have a lot of fun together and often go out to eat. He picks on her because she doesn't eat meat - and therefore doesn't eat chicken. He's the one who gave her the pink plastic flower ring she never takes off. They've been best friends since 2007 when they met as trainees at SM.

Lee Howon (Hoya) | 22 | Idol - INFINITE | They hang out together a lot and he helps her with her dancing (she messes up sometimes because she can get lazy). They bonded over the fact that they have the same birthday.

relationship They're very close friends, and many people consider them to be a couple. They don't deny the accusations at all; they might as well be together. Baekhyun is protective of Sun Jae, but knows she can handle herself. They're both loud and kind of class clowns; they pick on each other and play little pranks on one another. They're not exactly a romantic couple, but they have awkward attempts at being sweet and serious. Sometimes they succeed, and other times, they burst out laughing.

They do have talks sometimes about what the future would be like if they ever did get together; they have dodged the fact of them being together or not nearly the entire time they've known each other. He's also the reason for Sun Jae's stuffed animal collection, just as she is most of the reason for some of his stuffed animals. It's somewhat of a competition they have going on to see who can get who more stuffed animals - so far, Baekyun's winning.

how you got in Sun Jae was accepted into Cube Entertainment in 2007 at the age of 15; But then got dropped and then SM got a hold of her

trainee life After auditioning at many companies, Sun Jae was accepted to Cube because they thought having twins in their trainee reserve seemed like a good idea. They used Sun Jae as a model alongside Moon Pyo. Sun Jae spoke only to higher-ups and Moon Pyo while she was at Cube. She focused on her training and didn't make any friends. After a year at Cube, they got bored with the whole twin concept they had thought of; they let Sun Jae go. Unknown to her, her trainers had sent letters out to other companies in need of trainees, and soon enough Sun Jae was called up by one of them.

Sun Jae entered SM Ent, feeling a bit distanced from the music scene because of what had happened at Cube. Many trainees  started to befriend Sun Jae and she gained a few friends
