Divine  wondered through the library letting the warm scent of new and old books welcome her again. The people here knew her as the bookworm that spent too much time in the library with her nose always buried in a book. She didn’t feel like she needed anyone else, and to be honest she didn’t. No one understood her when she made references to books, and whenever she tried to be normal, they’d be intimidated.

She’d formed this comfortable bubble that she didn’t want to escape, and hoped no one could enter. Divine wondered through the library towards the desk that the librarian always sat behind when checking out the books before slipping into the comfy seat that she was so accustomed too.

The librarian was a sweet elderly lady whom loved those who were enthusiastic about reading took a liking to Divine and let her do whatever when she was gone.

Divine who was curious as to how many books she has read looked over behind her at the trolley that held the newly returned books. She gasped and ran towards it as soon she realised all her favourites were there. All the classical romance novels that she had memorised lay in front of her; Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights, Romeo and Juliet.

A bright smile appeared on her face as she remembered her favourite scenes from the books. She picked up one of her all time favourites and glanced down at the gracefully printed words before breathing out;

“Cinderella”

To her it didn’t matter what age you were, a prince charming coming to whisk her away was all she wanted. Hugging the old book close to her chest, she wondered why all of her most loved books were all here in front of her.

Flipping open the book, she glanced at the reference number before moving back to the computer to check who had previously taken out the book.

Her eyes squinted as she leaned closer to the screen to read the name;

Park Chanyeol

Never heard of him, she thought before clicking on his borrowed history.

She gasped as she looked down the list, her eyes widening as she read each title, recognising them instantly.

I wonder what kind of guy he is. She wondered, pondering over whether to approach him or not. These books aren’t what boys these days usually read.

She shrugged and slung her bag over her shoulder before walking out of the library. She didn’t even make it out of the library before she felt someone latch onto her arm and pull her back.

“You left your notebook.”

Divine looked back, before having to look up to meet the eyes of the stranger.

Damn he’s tall.

She muttered before bowing and taking the book from the guy. Getting ready to walk away and start searching for this Chanyeol guy she stopped moving when her eyes landed on the name tag on his uniform.

“Do you happen to be Park Chanyeol?” She asked, crossing her fingers behind her back.

He nodded before reaching down and kissing her hand “At your service Ma’am”

Divine stumbled backwards at his strange notion before clearing and shook her head.

“Nice to meet you Chanyeol-ssi, I’m Lee Divine. But you may call me Divine” she spoke, trying to put as much as authority as she could muster into the simple sentence.

She waited for a response before she watched as he opened his mouth and spoke “She is not to them what she is to me-…" He trailed off.

"She is not of their kind. I believe she is of mine. I am sure he is, – I feel akin to him” She finished for him, before beaming at the tall man that stood before her.

“Jane Eyre, one of my favourites.”

The next day, she wandered into school slightly more hopeful than before wondering if she would see Chanyeol today.

“Guess who~”

She stiffened as she felt a pair of hands on her eyes and heavy breathing on her neck.

"I am now convinced, my dear aunt that I have never been much in love; for had I really experienced that pure and elevating passion…”

She huffed and turned around to be face to face with Chanyeol,

“Pride and Prejudice?” She asked a slight smile on her face.

He nodded before running away from her to catch up with his friends.

“Aish… That boy…” Divine muttered before heading down the familiar corridor towards the library.

It was Friday when Divine saw Chanyeol again. Three freaking days she had waited to talk to him. He was annoying when he kept on coming and going, but to her that’s what made him special. So special in fact that she had dressed up slightly and waited in the library where she last saw him.

“Heathcliff! Heathcliff!”

She heard someone scream, just as she was about to stand and scold that person for screaming in the library she turned her head and came face to face with him.

Divine chuckled before she turned towards him and said with a dramatic voice ““He's more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.” She quoted.

He smirked before his eyes landed on the book in her hands, “Romeo and Juliet? That’s a great book!”

She smiled and clutched the book towards her chest, “It’s sweet isn’t it?”

He nodded, but looked nervous as he quickly bid her goodbye.

“I need to do some research. I’m sorry.”

He had ran off before she could say anything.

She sighed before watching the back of his figure run off frantically.

“He just might be…. My prince.....”

Divine had wondered off into the town library, as it was Saturday and to be honest she did not have anywhere to go. She stumbled into the library in her casual wear, with her sweatpants and baggy sweater - not attractive at all.

The library in the centre of town was smaller than the one at her school, and had fewer books, but more room to read. She didn’t even have time to sit down before she heard a frustrated sigh.

“WHY IS THIS BOOK SO STUPID?”

Her head turn immediately wondering why anyone would even dare to insult a book.

“Yah. Do you know how disrespectful-” She stopped when she saw her ‘Prince’ sitting at a table with books strewn everywhere.

“Hey! Don’t look!” He shouted as he tried to hide all the sheets and paper that lay in front of him.

Romeo and Juliet?

He nodded sheepishly before moving away so that she could see everything on the table.

Piles and stacks of notes filled with quotes and interpretations of books that she’d never even seen before. He written down so many notes and circled the ones that he felt she would know and love the most.

“I’ve been studying….” He muttered and turned away from her trying to hide his burning face.

There was an awkward pause before he began speaking again.

“I wanted to know what it was like to be in your world. To understand every quote you say, and every reference that you make… It’s ok if you find this creepy…”

Divine blushed the deepest shade of red before clearing , “Romeo, oh Romeo, where art thou Romeo?” She asked.

She laughed as his head snapped around and his eyes were as big as saucers.

“You don't mind?”

She shook her head and smiled as she bent down to help him tidy up his stuff “Actually, I think it’s pretty sweet”

Chanyeol jumped up and hugged her before taking all of the books out of her hands and replacing them with his hand, “Shall we go my Juliet?”

“After you, my prince charming.”
