Confessions Of A Fanfiction Writer

The first fanfiction I read in this site was may_yuna's "God of Study 2." I also found out that she is a JiSeung (Jiyeon x Seung Ho) fanatic just like me. Anyway, I found her story interesting that I decided to sign up and comment to her beautiful story. I also found out that if I want to, I could actually design some banners for people who may want to have banners designed by graphic artists in the Asianfanfic community. But as of now, I am not yet entertaining any requests. I don't know when I am gonna do it.

The next thing that came to my mind was writing a fic for Minami Shineyo, and it prompted me to make fics, usually about the Dooley couple. First fic I made was about an alternative episode for episode 5, wherein Mi Nyu was supposed to be roommates with Tae Kyung. In my fic, she became Shin Woo's roommate.

And it continued. I started to get subscribers and comments, and so far, I am very satisfied. Later, I remembered writing a Gokusen fic in the other site, so I decided to write a Gokusen fic here as well. I had been self-studying Nihongo for quite some time, though I am still a bit poor at it. Since my PC is a bit bad, I had to romanize my kana. Anyway.

Writing fic is one way of practicing my typing and English skills. It is also one way of practicing my Korean language learning (self-study basis only), though I had to romanize my hangeul instead. I used to write original stories and I totally miss it. But it is also exciting to write fanfics.

Some fics which I browsed here have the "you" character, and it got me interested. I decided to create my own fic with the "you" as the protagonist.

Being a JiSeung fan myself, I tried making my God of Study fic (I Didn't Mean To Love You). So far, I was happy and contented because I never expected to reach 20 subscribers to the fic.

Most of my fics are totally love stories, especially those of the Dooley couple. My fic "Last Thread Of Love" had been the longest fic that I had written at that time, and I was very happy to read the comments of my subscribers, who ended up being friends with me. That was totally great. One friend even told me that she had cried buckets of tears and kept a hanky beside her. Sorry for making you cry, but I just love angst.

The next Dooley fic I wrote was "Pure Pain, Undiluted," and the crying friend asked me if I could make her cry more than she ever did in Last Thread. However, she chose Last Thread still as her number one because "Love is pure and delicate for the couple." She found the "Pure Pain" as her second best because of a twist in the story which is kinda sad, but so typically me. "Love is a sacrifice," so she said. For me, that was the most difficult and the most adult fic I had written so far. This fic has the most subscribers so far, and it seems to be as long as "Last Thread". Do you know how happy I am? My other friend, a total He Yi fan and an equally zealous Dooley fan, also gave out positive comments, and I am totally grateful to her. So let your comments keep on coming.

To compensate for my crying reader, I made her laugh with "Sad Clown, Happy Loner," but this time, a TaeNyu fic. At first, I was a certified TaeNyu, but after watching episode 6 of YB, I jumped ship and became a Dooley fan. Writing this fic was a one-time that I did for a TaeNyu fan who had been reading my Dooley fic, so I had to challenge myself in writing a fic of which the pair is really not my choice. So far, my Dooley fan friends say that they like the story. Of course, a TaeNyu fic would not be complete without He Yi. But puh-lease! Do not let me write a SukkieHye because I am a total YongShin, and definitely, a no-no for me to write a YongSeo because I don't like Seohyun and I don't like SNSD. For me, 2NE1 is definitely the best girl group out there.

One thing I like about writing a fic is putting in songs (and I mean the whole lyrics) to show the characters' feelings, and to put a "some kind of a moment" moment in the fic. If you ask my Dooley fan friends, they will say it is true. Or better yet, read my fics. Another thing I like in making fanfics in this site is that I could even make my own banners. Though some of my stories do not have posters, others have, and those are pesonally made by yours truly.

I am also fond of mixing characters up and pairing unusual pairs in a fic. Example was Tsuchiya and Yankumi in Gokusen, though most of the people were into ShinKumi. I found Hayami Mokomichi so hot that I started to like  him, and I fancy him being paired up with Yankumi. I wrote one fic of that in the other site, and so far, the reviews were great. Another was my "what if" pairing of He Yi and Tae Kyung, and making them end up as lovers. Another example was me pairing up Tae Kyung and Coordi Noona, though on the platonic sense only, as Noona has two lovers in the story.

But the most exciting and rewarding part of writing a fanfic is reading comments from your subscribers. Reading their comments sure perks me up and makes me so proud to be a writer. Another exciting part is knowing that a lot of people subscribe to you. As of now, I have 58 fans. That may not be as many as the others, but I treasure that number a lot. Having subscribers means a lot to me. ^_^

For all the readers, subscribers, and friends out their, thank you so much. Saranghaeyo, yeoreobun!  ♥♥♥♥
