Twins and Turns

Since I was little, I am a big fan of Special Agents, Assassins and the like. My friends would always find that weird, but I honestly don’t care. I have always loved novels that are under the fiction genre, especially when it is mixed with mystery/suspense.

“The Missing Twin” by Rita Herron, is one of the books that made a big impact to me. It is actually a paperback novel not more than 300 pages but is definitely a good read. The book is the first on the Guardian Angel Investigations Series. Of course, there is my favorite part; Agents are present in the story.

This book shows the great connection between Twins, especially the ones who we’re apart from each other. I have always find twins to be amazing. I am intrigued by that certain ‘connection’ they have. Madelyn Andrews have always thought that her daughter, Cissi, was already gone after she was born. But one day, Sara just started talking on her own and tells her that ‘Cissi is alive and she’s in trouble’.  This story showed me its power, and how that ‘connection’ led Madelyn and Detective Caleb Walker to a mind-bending investigation to find Sara’s twin.

This book showed me the true strength of a mother, on how she will do everything, anything to save her child. Even with all the obstacles that come her way, she never ceases to give up. And that one can never always handle things alone. And as to what a quote says, ‘No Man is an Island’, no matter what, one will always need someone to rely on.

The things that happen in the story is somewhat alike to what really happens in real life. In the world where we live, cases of missing children are always on the breaking news. And unfortunately, some cases end up to nothing, which is absolutely heart-breaking, especially to the parents.

The good thing for me in this book is that, Sara, never let Cissi of her mind all the way. Somehow they are, and can always be, connected, and that made their search a little easier. But it also shows the cruelty of reality, because every time that Madelyn and Caleb finds a potential witness, those witness’ always end up dead.

The story is quick-paced, that is why I can’t put down the book until I was finished. Herron was good at stitching all the parts together and that made me solve the mysteries easier. And the ending part was great. It showed a ‘happily ever after’ but it also showed that life isn’t always rainbows and butterflies, so one must always be ready to face situations that can make your life, one heck of a ride.

I recommend this book to everyone! it's a good read! Rita Herron's The Missing Twin ! :D Happy Reading !
