〈 concertos 〉

name: Seo Daeun
nickname: Dawn || English name
date of birth: 07/30/1990
hometown: Los Angeles / Seoul
ethnicity: Full Korean
languanges: Korean and English

ulzzang: Park Sora
appereance: one two three four five gallery
back-up ulzzang: Jung Minhee
appereance: one two three gallery

style/appereance: Her outfits are very much as experimental, playful and flirty like her personality. She's not embarrassed to wear statement pieces, short skirts, skyscraper heels and animal onesies but at the same time, she's super comfortable in oversized jerseys and sneakers. Her style is about her mood, crazy, quirky but super fun. At her enormous height of 175 cm, her limbs are long and model-esque but make her the worst dancer possible. Her hair also appears in all shades of the rainbow according to her state of sanity.

〈 f i r s t movement 〉

four personality traits: sarcastic, fiery-tempered, dry-humoured and brazen
personality:

SHE’S A GIRL ON FIRREEEEE- Dawn is incredibly fiery tempered and fiercely protective of everyone that she loves. It kills her on the inside when people prey on the innocent and her fists are quick to react. Don’t underestimate her due to her tiny size, her punches pack power and fifty stitches to the skull. She’s incredibly blunt and sarcastic, quick-witted with her come-backs and very, very tough. She kind of has a no-s-given attitude but that’s just because she never wants anybody to know how much she’s concerned on the inside because it makes her look weak and feel vulnerable. She’s always had to stick up for her gullible, naïve family so even though she doesn’t have any martial arts credentials, is a pretty good fighter both verbally and physically. This gets her in lots of trouble and so does her incredibly foul language.

ROLL LIKE A BUFFALO- this girl is efficient when she puts her mind to things, ploughing through paperwork like a buffalo ploughing downhill through snow. She takes no when it comes down to business. She’s also awkward. Close your eyes and imagine a fat, grey, blob rolling. This is how she is when she is presented with problems such as crying, flirting, affection and overloads of emotion. She’s the type to awkwardly pat you on the head during a mental break-down. It doesn’t mean she doesn’t care, she just finds it hard to express feelings of affection and ends up embarrassing herself in the process. She doesn’t know this but everyone finds it endearing.

CLOSET TROLL- she has a strong playful side that’s completely different from her usual headstrong, frank image. On the rare occasions she isn’t chastising Chen for being an idiot, she’s his partner in crime and lord, they make a good team. Chen has his methods, Dawn ahs her excellent lying skills and quick wit. They cover their tracks well like serial/ psychopathic killers.

MARHSMALLOW- she incessantly worries about everything on the inside which makes for many awkward moments. If you think about it, her family has moulded her to be this way. Even though she constantly was face-palming at their antics, they were about as strong as a newborn baby pandas so she had to worry about them like a fretting mother, especially because they never had a mother. She’s thoughtful and considerate but has no way of voicing those emotions so she magically transforms into an awkward turtle. Overall, she’s pretty gooey on the inside and has an embarrassing soft spot for children, animals and chocolate. She’s pretty laid-back and quite the tomboy. Almost no phobias. Oh and she's good at baking but never does it because the boys would never stop teasing her about it.

SUNSHINE & RAINBOWS- Despite all the toughness, she’s really very optimistic about life and even though she may not be able to sufficiently console someone and cannot deal with any kind of crying, she actually gives good advice and can be counted on to not freak out about the world ending. She isn’t only tough physically but emotionally as well, which makes her Ara’s rock. She also cracks jokes in abundance and people find her hilarious.

trivia:

» is utterly hopeless with anything remotely domestic so she often runs on instant ramen when Ara isn't around

» is Jongdae's partner in crime, both of them could win Olympic medals for being troll

» is pretty good at weaseling her way out of trouble. Maybe a sweet smile here and there and a white lie to look innocent.

» does many things on impulse, like the time she wanted to grow a tank of turtles and is always messy and disorganized

» fired from pretty much all of her part time jobs for behaving inappropriately with customers.

dawn quotes:

"You ing hurt my best friend ever again and you will be getting a high five in the face with a chair going at the speed of a Japanese bullet train"

"Please kill it before it lays eggs."

"Kim Jongdae, if they catch us, you don't know me and I only know how to speak the dialect of the Mali Mali tribe."

"Hate you? No, I don't hate you, because that would actually require a degree of emotional commitment."

"Yes, your does look fat in those jeans"

"Um no, my room is not messy. It is a work of contemporary art. Okay it's messy."

"ARRRAAAAA COME HERE AND MAKE ME SOME FOOD IM HUNGRY. I AM THIS CLOSE TO CONSUMING MY PET HAMSTER."

"Ara, help me, why the does this note have two lines through it."

"Give in to the man of a conductor? The short answer is no. The long answer is ing hell no."

dawn's family:

〈 da c a p o 〉

background: compared to the rest of her family, she is considered the most responsible and the most sane. Her fathers are gay, resulting in them raising their children in a more "alternative" manner such as encouraging shopping sprees and musical performances as well as sobbing dramatically over soap operas. Dawn is the second youngest sibling out of twelve and they're all girls which often results in them being dubbed as the "Twelve dancing princesses". Not only are they artistically talented but they're dramatic and sassy just like actors in soap operas. The artist's gene seems to have skipped over Dawn as she is the only one actually doing a university degree and struggling to play an instrument. Both fathers are fashion critics, she has about five sisters in the Russian Ballet and another with a photography firm. Then there's the youngest who is in the London orchestra and another whose a fashion model, catwalk no less. They live in Los Angeles, in a flashy mansion but Dawn needed to get away from the madness for a while so she came to where her ethnic roots were, Korea.

relations:
Pierre Kim | Father | 57 | fashion critic | dramatic, soft-hearted, sassy, wise | they have an excellent relationship but Dawn finds his waterworks a little excessive

Artemis Kim | Father | 58 | patisserie chef | meticulous, gullible, sweet, spontaneous | they love each other but Dawn doesn't think she ever wants to eat another French pastry ever again

〈 polyphonic 〉

name: Kris / Wu Yifan
his position in orchestra: conductor
date of birth: 01/26/1990

personality: Behind the face, over-inflated ego and snarky remarks, Yifan is a pretty understanding, patient and warm-hearted person. He has been good at most things all his life ans even though his slender finegrs are utterly perfect for the neurosurgery course he's doing, all he wants to do is be a preschool teacher. He's quite silent and can come off as malicious and arrogant but he's just sick of all the admiration and pressure from his family to be utterly perfect. He has got the perfect track record but he hasn't really ever lived. Yifan is fiercely protective of those that he loves and can be the awkwardest turtle of them all in the face of love. His parents died in a hit-and-run accident in Guangzhou and then he was shipped off to his demanding family of prodigies in Seoul.

relationship: They first met at orchestra where Dawn fudged her first line of music, barely five minutes into practice. He embarrassed her in front of the entire orchestra and she insulted his love for BB cream back (courtesy of gossiping members) and they began the quest to show each other how much better they were than each other. Ara saw her best friend work the hardest she'd ever had just to try and spite the obnoxious conductor. Dawn had forgotten her umbrella as usual, staying behind to practice and Kris felt guilty so he threw his umbrella into her lap, stalking out silently. And since a visit from Kris's grandparents to the school (the were on the alumni board) she found him fuming in a corner and told him to it up. They should grow from intolerance to patience as both are fiery tempered and head strong. Their relationship would be dorky, awkward and both fo them would be as whipped as whipped cream but just unwilling to say so.

what is your position in the orchestra?: cello. I have no idea why I chose the freaking most unmanageable instrument ever.

why did you want to join?: it's fun. And I have nothing to do so screeching away on this fat lump of wood is a stress reliever.

your performance is tomorrow! what will you do?: Ahahahahaha, funny story-WAIT WHAT? We have a performance? That's okay, I'm not exactly an intrinsic part of the orchestra anyway and on top of that, I am an excellent air-celloist. We'll be fine.

〈 e n c o r e 〉

questions/comments?: As you may already know me from the comments page of your absolutely perf fic, I am fit for catastrophe :D I love you, for making this! Oh and for the love interest part, I really don't mind who :)

scene suggestions?:

- Her entire, whacky family should come for a visit and freak Kris out to  half death and then continue to show everyone Dawn's baby ballerina photos

-Kris and Dawn would argue epicly. Nuff said

-Kris gets overprotective and stalks her not so subtly into a lingerie shop where Dawn smirks and calls him her "baby" and "hubby" and forces the egotistical dude to buy her fifteen bras tha she doesn't even need.
