Breakdown of How Music Shows Rank Songs
For those who are curious like me, this is how fans can help their artists win LOL
M COUNTDOWN: digital single sales 50%, album sales 10%, age preference 20%, global fan vote 10%, sms vote 5%
KBS MUSIC BANK: digital music sales 65%, album sales 5%, tv appearance 20%, tv viewers preference 10%
SBS INKIGAYO: digital music sales and album sales 50%, social media referrals (fb, twitter) 30%, tv viewer vote 20%
MBC SHOW! MUSIC CORE: youtube hit, early voting, digital music sales and album sales, text vote
Digital music sales make up a huge chunk of their criteria. Even though Wolf ranked at #70/#50, I can now see why EXO still bagged the awards. It is because of the other criteria like physical album sales and votes. EXO has a huge fandom for a nugu group. Plus the international fandom is notorious when it comes to increasing views in youtube, online votes, and social media referrals. K-fans must be rich too, to send in all those text votes. So, now I know the reason behind those missions LOL
Sistar is currently number one on digital charts but they have a smaller fandom compared to EXO. So, we'll see next week who claims the top spot.
