A Writer's Interview

Well, I was procrastinating and skimming through random blog posts when I came across this. I figured that since I have nothing better to do, I might as well fill it out.

Oh, and I got it from hanseoul, by the way.

What inspired you to write your first story?
To be honest, it's been so long since I've written my first story, that I can't really remember the inspiration for it.

Do you have a specific writing style? If so, describe it.
Do I even have a writing style? In all honesty, I've never really given it much thought, I just write. Well, I guess you could say that I no longer have excessive dialogue in my fics. Before, I used to have this habit of writing like pages of dialogue, and two sentences of description for an entire chapter.

How do you come up with titles?
I try to make sure the title pertains to the fic/chapter in some way, so I'll play around with words in my head until I come up with something I like. I'm also not very fond of long titles, so I like to keep it fairly short.

Are there any messages you try to protray when writing?
Messages like as in values and lessons, and other things to that extent? Well, giving it some thought, I don't think I've really done that. I probably should start though, since I'm starting to get a lot more attention for my fics. Try to pull some subliminal parenting or some . Haha.

Which writers would you consider a personal inspiration?
Surprisingly, I actually don't really read books as often as I used to, so I don't really have any writers as my inspiration. Basically, life all around me is my inspiration.

Current projects?
I need to stop adding more to my work load.

How did you get into writing?
About nine years ago, I started using writing as an emotional outlet. I was able to expression all my thoughts and feelings that I could never bring myself to say aloud.

What is the biggest challenge you have when writing?
Losing interest in chapter fics. I've never finished a chapter fic in my life, mainly because I lose interest in things too quickly. Regardless of what is going on in the story, I just suddenly lose all interest and inspiration for it. I try to wait it out and take a break from the story, but even then, I can never come back to it.

How to you design characters?
It's been a really long time since I've used an original character, I'm not really sure I remember how I used to come up with them. I would think about what kind of character is needed for the story, and just start basing the OC on personality first. Appearances and backgrounds etc. came after that.

Who is the character you will miss the most? If theres more than one, list and explain why.
I'm assuming this applies to original characters only, right? Well, unlike most people, I don't see my characters as "my children/babies." I view them as tools that can be utilized in my stories, roleplays, etc. So no, I don't "miss" my characters, because they're expendable.

Is anything in your stories based on real life situations?
Bits and pieces of my stories are based on events from my life. One of my fics "DMV" had been based on a trip to the DMV with my friend.

Advice for other authors?
Don't write for all the wrong reasons such as fame, attention, praise, karma pts, etc. Write for you, and none of that bs. If your sole purpose of writing is to obtain those things, then you shouldn't be writing at all. Writing is an art form, something that a person can use to express themselves. You tainting that by writing only to get your stupid little karma points is pathetic.

Also, never threaten your readers in order for them to subscribe or comment, etc. You're just making yourself look like a , as well as deterring people from actually subbing or reviewing.
