Don't know if you still need this, but I randomly stumbled upon this post. ^^

Most other people can't see it because I'm guessing that you manually downloaded these fonts yourself? If so, then that's why you can't see it on your desktop. A laptop/computer/whatever automatically starts with basic fonts that are already in the computer without needing to download. You can use those on your layouts or whatever (assuming you are) and other people will be able to see them just fine, but if you use fonts that you manually downloaded yourself, only you and the people who have that font downloaded (which are mostly all graphic designers) will be able to see it. Like me, I can only see Alien League and Windsong. Other than that, the rest are in Times New Roman because that's the default font for my laptop (except for Arial).
