During times of stress, such as finals, everyone would just love to stop the world and go and read a bit of fanfic to get their mind off of hectic things.

Unfortunately, most people who are authors are super busy and don't have the time to update due to studying and preparation for tests. Everyone would love to read a bit of fan fiction to get their minds off if things, but they just don't' have time to write. So, if the writers don't write, the readers/subscribers are unable to read anything new to destressify, and then it goes into a never ending loop. That's why, despite exams and stuff, people should try to update, and if not update, at least work on writing a chapter, during finals. It's a wonderful way to not worry about the world and just get involved with the story that you are writing.

I am not encouraging to abandon schoolwork, such as studying, completely. No way. School is important! But don't be another reader who wants something new to read, but won't work on their own story for others in their same shoes.
