MIZUNO, CHOU.

DANCE  W ITH  US.
INFORMATION ABOUT YOU.

username : spellmelove
how active are you? : 4.8
what we can call you : melo.

name : mizuno chou.
nickname : kosame - it means "gentle rain" and her little sister calls her that.
date of birth : 06/09/1992
place of birth : hiroshima, japan
hometown : seoul, south korea.
languages : japanese (native, she spoke japanese at home.) korean (fluent - she did grow up in korea, after all.)

ulzzang : yamor

back up ulzzang : kite

appearance : she's a tomboyish wallflower, so don't expect anything like bright, flashy skirts or dresses. the closest she'll get to accessories are glasses, which she has to wear anyways since she's honestly got crappy vision without them. her clothes are oversized, her sneakers often scuffed. she has a tattoo on her calf  that says "very butterfly" in english, since "chou" in japanese can mean both "butterfly" and slang for "very".

I  WANNA GET TO KNOW  YOU.
PERSONALITY BECUASE THIS THING CAN GET UBER LONG, YA FEEL????????

four personality traits : timid, attentive, self-conscious, chill
personality :
timid: it's her defining trait. she prefers the background to anything else, and was honestly one of those kids that hung out on the edges of the wall during dances in high school. it's rare to hear her talk in anything besides a whisper, and she does have a pretty bad stutter. she's not going to go out and admit her social anxiety, but she does have a fear of socializing with people - especially strangers - for fear of saying the wrong thing. she apologizes a lot too, about every other sentence. it doesn't help her case that she's not exactly confident in korean yet, but really, the only place she's not hiding from the world is on stage. you can't exactly hide when you're pumping out awesome guitar solos, can you? besides, when that's happening, it's clear on her face that she's having a lot of fun.

attentive: chou notices things around her better than she notices things pertaining to herself. she helps with the little things, the details, from relationship drama to how to braid hair. she coordinates the outfits for the invitation, simply because she's looked at the other girls so much that she knows what looks good on them. she's very careful most of the time - she reads people well, and can easily figure out what makes them go insane. hence, she takes that information and stores it in that little head of hers, so when she does interact with the person in question, she won't make some mistake and mess up her chances, as she so fears. she listens very well, too - she's a better listener than she is a talker, as a matter of fact, and that's what makes her such a good person to go to for advice.

self-conscious: she's always wearing the most clothing on stage, even under the hot glare of the spotlights. she doesn't like showing skin, or her face, for that matter (she wears masks.). she knows where she belongs - the background - and it fits her. see, chou hates how she looks. she genuinely wishes she could rock long curls and skirts and dresses, but when she looks at herself in the mirror she fails to see it - it's that easy. she can't look in the mirror and love herself, which is fine with her, really. she's kind of resigned to it, if that makes sense. it's easier to help others when she's not focused on how she looks or how she's acting, and helping others is her goal.

chill: and i don't mean chill like cool. chou tries to be emotionless for fear of getting hurt, and hence, comes off as quite cold. she's locked in her head half the time, anyways, and it's easy to mistake her silence as coldness. she's incredibly oblivious to other people's feelings unless they outright state them - she likes giving situational advice, not emotional advice. chou doesn't believe that tears can solve anything, and hence, she doesn't cry. she thinks laughing too loud can freak people out, and hence doesn't laugh very often. it's simple. she prefers to hide emotions, and if that's not an option for whatever reason, she'll just put them down as lyrics in her notebook.

persona : the shy one? honestly idek.

THE  L I FE OF  ME.
BACKGROUND AND JAZZ HANDS

background : chou's family moved to seoul when chou was around...six? she doesn't even remember. because she didn't know korean at all, chou was often teased throughout elementary and some of middle school. that's part of what made her the mouse she is today, note. so she froze - she did her schoolwork and that's it, no activities or anything. wanting a creative outlet for their daughter, they bought chou her first guitar and even shelled out for lessons.

chou loved it. as soon as she learned chords she was doodling songs in her notebook about things as meaningless as math tests. maybe it made her even more of a recluse, but chou didn't care. she had something fun, a passion, even - and isn't that what people search for in life?

chou's original university plans were to return to japan and attend nagoya university, majoring in psychology. that didn't exactly work out. around her last year of high school, chou's dad lost his job. determined to get into university, chou applied to a few local schools and started, among other things, working in music shops. luckily she got in to one of her choice universities, the one she's currently attending.

she found out about the place's band phenomenon by her roommate. let's just say she's a bit...jongin obsessed, would be a nice way to put it. poor chou got dragged to every o gig her roommate could find out about, however reluctantly. she thought they were good, and if asked further, she'd shrug. she didn't think about them on a regular basis, in any case.

chou has yet to stop playing guitar and doodling songs in her notebook. finding out about the invitation's member search through her friend jia caused her to practice even more and even buy a new guitar, her first in...what, 5 years? she went in to the audition without knowing much or expecting success, as usual.

friends :
jung taekwoon | 22 | voice teacher, student | quiet, strong, pokerfaced, rude. | they're partners in...quietness.

meng jia | 24 | waitress | mischevious, snarky, hilarious, confident | opposites attract, and so, they're best friends. jia also doubles as a mentor for chou.

trivia : always wears a mask on stage. she coordinates the outfits for the invitation. favorite band is the gazette, one of her dreams is to jam with them someday. has a notebook full of songs that she will show nobody ever, nuh-uh, no way. evar.

THE  RE LATIONSH I P .
THE ONLY SHIP THAT YOU SHOULD SHIP WAT

his name : kim joonmyeon.
four personality traits : amicable, thoughtful, ambitious, angelic.
what is he to o? : manager.

relationshi(t)p : joonmyeon is incredibly sweet to chou. she's half-convinced he has some sort of ulterior motive about it, but no. he's just a supporter of hers, who genuinely cares for her and her well-being. that, and joonmyeon sees chou as something timid and mouse-like - something he should protect and guard from all the sharp-clawed cats out there. chou's emotional obliviousness hurts him very much, though, since she can't seem to realize how much she likes him, or how much he likes her.
how you met : they bumped in to each other when chou was buying a new guitar for her audition with the invitation. he asked her which kind is best - some jong in kid needed a new one or something - and she gave him some stuttered-out reccomendations. he thanked her with a polite smile, and asked what she was looking for. more stuttering.

persona : the guardian angel. i feel good for coming up with that.

SO YOU WANNA BE ONE OF US?
A QUESTIONAIRE - ANSWER IN FIRST POV, THANKS.

how are you today? :  t-today? i guess i'm, er, fine. y-yeah, fine.

why did you join the invitation? : my f-friend jia told me there was auditions and t-they needed a guitarist. and i figured s-since i only have two friends r-right now it'd be a g-good experience to practice guitar and m-meet new people, or that's what jia said. wait, sorry, you want my opinions. a-and they seemed nice enough, anyways, the girls, i mean. s-so i signed up for a slot and i s-seriously hope i get it, b-because it's going to be fun. i think. mostly i-it's because of practicing guitar. i'm really no-not that good with people, see. i c-could use the skills, and if we get fans, it could, um, help me. to have experience with people, i mean.

and it's b-because, i really like p-performing. which is kind of surprising, right? i-i just kind of feel at home on stage. when i-i'm playing, i mean. because when they talk to me on stage it's kind of hard for me. i'm sorry, that's probably a bad answer. but really, wh-what if this is my last chance to perform? i'm young but you, um, never know, really. so that's why auditioned. does that make any sense? probably not, sorry. they probably didn't like me, anyways,

what instrument do you want to play? or perhaps, manager? : i, er, play electric guitar. n-not what you expected from someone like me, right?

what was your audition for the invitaiton like? : i think i came in late, firstly. i signed up for one of the last times, so i figured t-they were pretty tired of hearing people by then. i introduced myself, but i was too quiet and one of the girls looked kind of, um, angry. o-or intimidating, or something. so i repeated myself, and i played part of something i wrote a while ago. and i think they liked it. i really think they did. it felt pretty good.

who are you closest in the band? : the rhythm guitar. she's, um, nice to talk to.

who are you the least closest to? : i don't really h-hate anyone, it's a strong word, isn't it? but that lead singer is pretty scary. i don't think she l-likes me very much.

ALLOTHER THINGS .
