Who's Better? (Opinions would be nice)

So at the end of my first class today my friend and I got into quite the bickerment about who makes better ballads. DBSK or SHINee. We're both biased--her to SHINee and myself to DBSK--so we thought that our favorite group was the better of the two. 

I'm not sure if she has but I don't think she's listened to all of DBSK's ballads or at least the popular ones. I've listened to almost all of SHINee's ballads even if it was just once and did recognized that they are good singing them but, not better than DBSK (in my opinion). 

She stated how SHINee sounds perfect when they sing and how they don't need to blend to sound well. While I argued that it's good to blend while and be able to sound like one person's voice is layered. She then stated that "sounded like one person doesn't mean they're good". When you sing with others you're supposed to blend with their voices so your voice doesn't overpower the other voices. I've never heard a group blend as well as DBSK blends when they sing. Ever. 

I then stated that (although I was just defending my boys) that they're the most popular, making their ballads the best which she retorted with "Islam is the most popular religion but it doesn't mean it's the best/everyone likes it". 

This argument made my blood boil a bit even though it seems like a simple debate. I'm sorry but in my opinion, DBSK is/was one of the best Kpop groups out there (beside the obvious original groups, Shinhwa, H.O.T, g.o.d, SES and the rest). 

I do think SHINee is good and  popular now that DBSK is, sadly, getting old and losing fame as their fans mature and grow older, but I don't think they're the best. I'll defend DBSK and their titles that they've earned, the records they've broken, the awards they've received, the good, the bad, anything, before I put them down. Yes, I am biased but I'm a Cassie first before anything. 

 

Anyway~~~~ what do you guys think? And please no fanwars. Do you think DBSK is the better ballad singers or SHINee?

DBSK will forever be my one true love in K-pop's ballad (and, well, everything else too :P) ~
Nothing and no one can ever reache their harmony
They and their voices were meant to be together
It doesn't mean that other groups like SHINee are bad, it just means that each of them has their unique feature and that they just have to find the path where they can shine brightly for who they are!
So, by being biased and un-biased at the same time, I shall say proudly that I know that my DBSK are and will always be one of the best when talking about ballad <3

DBSK is better in my opinion because being able to blend each others voice is not an easy task as well as. Also their acapellos are a beautiful to. Listen as welll. Shinee is great to but not as good as DBSK

I may be a bit bias but I think DBSK because they blend.well but you can distinguish each ones voice. Plus they all can hold their own. Where as in SHINee some members are weaker/stronger than others

Even though Shinee has good voices, the way that DB5K's voices blend together is something I can't find in other group. Although my ultimate bias group is DB5K, I still haven't found a group that harmonizes as well as DB5K. Not just DB5K's ballad but also their acapella is also good.

But I think it's unfair to compare Shinee to DB5K. Because db5K was trained longer than Shinee and Shinee is more of a dance/mainstream group than DB5K which was originally an acapella group. It's also unfair because DB5K had longer experience than Shinee. It's like comparing Shinhwa and Shinee

I always thought TVXQ was better at ballads, because they were originally an acapella group, so their voices were trained more, but shinee is good too, and since TVXQ has more singing experience, they're better at producing sounds, and the shinee members are still growing, so I think they'd be as good as them in the future :)
