• Born in busan, south korea. family consisted of mother, father and two older brothers. was babysat by her grandparents. started going to a child day care centre when she was 3. raejin's little sister jaera was also born at this time. was often found humming when doing activities or dancing around in front of the mirrors. aged 4, raejin and her family moved to incheon. at age 5, raejin started going to elementary/primary school. •

• at age 6, raejin was put into singing and dancing lessons - on the suggestion from her school teachers. a diligent student, raejin passed all her schooling exams and tests with high marks and she always handed in her homework. when raejin was 7, she participated in her first dancing competition, coming 3rd overall. at age 9, raejin was put into a country wide singing competition, ranking 8th out of the 50 competitors. •

• at 13, raejin was finishing her middle school years. she was the top of her classes, and received many awards. on the inisitance of her teachers, raejin performed at the graduation ceremony and many parents and students recorded it. at 14, raejin finally entered highschool at Seoul Arts high school. she was set to attend seoul foreign language high school, but turned it down to study her perfoming arts. she boarded at the school with two other girls from incheon. at 16, raejin's grandmother died of lung cancer. •
