AFF isn't the same anymore :'(

I don't know if this is just me but... there is a RIDICULOUS amount of drama going on here. The people on aff are always fighting/crying/dying (wait whut .-.)... And maybe this is just me so I want to know if others are feeling it too. This site has turned into more of a social network OTL. And that's not necessarily a good thing... I mean, it's awesome meeting new friends and uniting with fellow fans but is that what's really happening now? I miss the times when everyone actually cared about the fanfics and the fanfics only. Nowadays, it's all about popularity, drama, love (don't even get me started on that one), and more drama. The reason why I came to AFF was to avoid all those. Cause they happen in real life anyways. So I came here to just share the same hobbies/likes with fellow fans. But now that I think about it, that's not happening. I am soooo exhausted. With school and family. AFF is actually adding more stress for me >.< so... I might deactivate my account and leave aff pretty soon...

LOL, i heard of this but haven't witnessed any catfights.
I've been on hiatus for several months but now that i'm back, eeryone's like saying the aame thing you're saying.
If there's drama, just ignore it, come here to read fics and write fics, don't complain wether the site isn't the same as it used to be.
Give yourself some time off and make fun things happen

:( awww so sad, I haven't seen the drama, maybe becoz i had few frenzz...usually i juz add my fav author, I chat to people who say hi and comment though. Just start ignoring or blocking those causing stress and drama to u..
so you dont have to deactivate ur acc... ^_^

You're right that this site seems to be a lot like a social network now. But there's still a lot of us that just come here to write and share parts of life that we think are significant to understanding the purpose of our existence.

I feel you, the drama is annoying >.< But what I do is just ignore it all because there's no use getting involved. Let other people have their arguments and stick with the ones who are here to meet fun people and read and write good stories :D

I agree, it is very much a social network kind of thing now and its becoming harder to find the good stories amongst the bad. But at the same time, I like AFF as a community. But I agree so much with what you're saying :/ But when I find a good story on here it just makes me so happy :D

You just have to learn to out
and delete/block those people
If it's causing your harm then you shouldn't have to put up with it.
This is a site where it's easy to ignore people.
Just stop talking to the people.

I never notice it - because htis is a site for sharing stories and it never should go beyon dthe polite thanking for a comment - so you just have to learn to take the measures necessary to ignore it.

There are some things that is happening in AFF that you need to ignore. I've seen more drama than you do. If you think that AFF is a place to share stories, hobbies and interests, then think of it that way because no matter where you go, drama always happens.
