—APPEARANCE ULZZANGS — PREDEBUT — In his trainee trainee days, his hair was dyed light orange and he let his bangs fell over his eyes. He never bothered to cut his bangs unless his vision got totally blocked. Yoojin didn't really care much about his appearance as long as he seemed decent, just wearing loose t-shirt and baggy pants would do him good. He wears glasses because his eyesight is bad. He was a person who liked outdoor activities and preferred to stay outside if he had free time. His was lithe with a few abs, enough to make him look fit and not skinny.

Dorm: He would strut around the dorm in a white wife beater and a pair of boxers. He wears glasses too because he honestly isn't really fond of contact lens. Sometimes he would use hairpins to keep his bangs off his forehead.
Airport: two things that would always be in his default appearance; his blue mixstyle headphone and his newsboy cap. His clothes would consist of two layers; he always has something to go with t-shirt, be it coat, unbottoned shirt, vest, windbreaker jacket, or cardigan. And he would be walking in his Converse.

—FURTHER TRUTH
SUMMARY — Yoojin has those traits that sometimes leads to misunderstandings. He's socially awkward, determined, childish, and
is an affectionate person.
PERSONALITY —
Yoojin is never good with words. He has the pressured-kind of feeling whenever he meets new people. It's
not like he doesn't want to interact, but he doesn't know how to start. As simple as that. It's not that he's
being rude, but he doesn't know how to talk without being nervous. He's a bit self-conscious of how his
first impression for those people would be, he's nervous about what they would think about him. But if
others are the one who initiates the conversations, he'll gladly respond and get engrossed in talking as he
unconsciouly relaxes. The real Yoojin is never hard to be approached, but his nervousness is what that
makes people think he's the anti-social type because during the first questions, he only gives brief answers
before looking away and remains silent. Only if he has a comfortable first impression about someone then
he'll loosen up more and it'll be easier for him to be his talkative self.
Despite being an awkward turtle, he is affectionate at heart. He prefers to show his feelings more by actions
rather than words and likes to stay as close as possible with those he is close with. That's why he's the type
who likes skinships. Be it hugging, hand holding, patting, and other types of getting touchie. He feels those
gestures give him the encouragement and the postive vibes that everything would be okay. It also ensures
him that he's not alone going throught the hardships. At times, he would feel like being patted or throwing
hugs and it's because he wants to show how much he loves the others. But of course, as touchie as he is, he
won't push his cuddliness towards those who aren't fond of skinship.
On the contrary of his soft side, he can turn into a rock-headed person. Once he has set his mind over
something, there's no stopping him. It he has something to achieve, he would give out his best and try his
all until he reaches his goal. He doesn't like to work half-heartedly and working hard is a must for him. But
he also knows his boundaris. He won't tire himself out until he feels like dying, and for that he has been
developing his self control. During this mode, he looks like a whole different person with all serious
demeanor and stuff. He won't tolerate laziness and would start making strick schedules for himself.
Sometimes such behavior would lead people to think if he's being egoistic and wants to win over everyone.
But the truth is he wants others not to look down on him just because he's younger.
Then, the biggest problem of being the youngest in the group is that he tends to feel like he's the baby
brother that has to be treated special. Being the lone child, he longs for an older brother figure and has
taken it on the other members. He treats them like his own brothers and he would do anything to make them
happy. He would throw aegyo and do cute things if they want him to. He would sometimes follow them around
like a lost puppy (and he'll immediately run off if one of them gets annoyed then eventually follows another
member) and pouts if he's being ignored. His curiosity often brings him to try new things and starts from a
wrong perspective most of the time, the the rest of the members have to help the baby cleaning up his own
mess in the end. In his free time, whenever he really doesn't have anything to do, Yoojin would sit and watch
anime episodes for hours and throws nasty glares at anyone who tries to disturb him.

chool teacher and his mother (Kang Seokyung, age 45) takes care of their family bakery shop.

YEARS AS TRAINEE — 4 years SINGING — he can be said tone deaf because he easily loses his notes while he's trying to sing. Especially on higher notes, his voice usually cracks. s says his singing alone can bring catastrophe. After he debuted, his singing skill improves a bit, at least he doesn't sound like a dying chicken.

—ONSTAGE
STAGE NAME — KangJin ONSTAGE PERSONALITY — once the camera starts rolling, his usually- cheerful gaze turns into a piercing gaze, his expression stoic and lips forming occasional smirks. He's more into the serious and quiet type, only answering when needed. He always answers with snarky remarks, the one that is made for entertaining purpose, only when the MC is asking. This mode is what that attracts girls the most: the cool-guy mode. The company made him to get into a different personality because they know how talkative Yoojin can be and because he's still young, the company was afraid he would slip and spill the unnecessary. That's why they tried to keep the risk at the minimum by making him into the silent type.
TRAINEE LIFE — Once, he was on holiday and went to Seoul with his parents. They went to a market and Yoojin was waiting outside when he felt like someone staring at him. He looked around, spotting a woman in suit with an earpiece and black glasses eyeing him from afar. He thought maybe it was his imagination but he saw the woman never took her eyes off him and started to walk her way towards him. When the woman got closer, he finally fleed, having suspiciousness towards her. He was too young back then and the only thoughts running through his mind wasthat the woman might be an evil person and he had to make a run for it. The nearest place to the market was a park, and he thought getting into a crowded place would help him to hide if he must. He ran in circles at the park, trying to make the woman lost track of him. But she was persistent. Where he ran off to, she would follow. Yoojin wasn't really a sportsman and he was easily tired. After about 30 minutes of running, he finally couldn't take it anymore andtook a break by a tree, thinking his only way was to confront her. The woman stopped a few steps from him, looking like she would collapse anytime. It was amazing how a middlea-aged woman managed to run around for 30 minutes. Or maybe even more. When the woman finally had the chance to explain her purpose and who see was, Yoojin was shocked. He was being followed by a talent scouter and he ran away. It was a golden chance and he nearly lost it. The woman handed him a card, the place and the date of audition written on it before walking off. Yoojin went back to the market, seeing his parents were panicking while looking after him. After that, they went back to Mokpo and Yoojin didn't want to tell his parents. One day he decided to be honest and spilled everything, and as he expected, his parents objected the idea. They didn't want their only child to leave them. For days Yoojin begged, telling them it was his dream to work in a music industry. Seeing how determined their son was, they finally let him go. They brought him to Seoul once again and walked him to where the audition took place. He passed and went in for training, his parents also supported him. He thought he could finally make his dream come true. But the training wasn't as easy as he thought. He was one of the bullying victims because he was only a newbie in the eyes of those who had trained longer than him. Not to mention he had only been to Seoul once and he knew very little about the city. There were also knew things he had to force himself to be quickly adapted, such as the tight schedules of full-day training that caused his lack of sleep and sometimes insomnia. He remembered how it felt like he was suffocating. He had his times of desperation, wanting to fell back home, back to his parents and his old life. He had cried a few times when he felt like immobilized due to exhaustion. The lack of sleep, the lack of motivation; he thought maybe it was a wrong decision to come here. But he also realized running away would be his life-time regret. His parents were finally supporting him, he was finally a step closer to achieve his dream; he had gone this far and there was no turning back. He tried to motivate himself that with patience and hardwork, everything would be fine. Thus he trained harder and harder, pushing back any negative thoughts and only focused on his training. |
