Elections for SGA... ASDFGHJKL
Well... hey guys c:
Guess what?
...
I'm running for vice president at school!!!! >.<
And I'm dying cause I'm so nervous T.T
And I'm only running against ONE other person OTL
But there are reasons why I am nervous :(
First off, there are usually three things that people vote by:
- their relationship/friendship with you
- looks
- your speech and campaigning
As for friends, I think we have the same amount...
But for looks... omg this girl -.-
She wears a bunch of make up and we're 14 years old, she perms and dyes her hair every
God-knows-how-often, she wears these expensive designer clothes that no teenager even wears...
so.... yeah. She tries. HARD.
So my only hope is my speech and campaigning...
I think my speech is alright :)
Except we have to make it 20-30 seconds long OTL
IDK how the staff expects us to convince 2000+ kids with a 25 second speech but OH WELL!
As for campaigning... I have 4 huge posters that my mom helped TREMENDOUSLY with tonight.
And they're super pretty :)
But that's cause I didn't touch it OTL
I have NO art skills so I let my mom and sis take care of that B-)
kekeke my opponent doesn't have any posters :p
What was I going to talk about next...?
Oh yes!!! How much I love my family!! XDDDDDD
So tonight, here's what my family was doing in order to help me with campaigning stuff.
Mom: working SUPER hard to make my amazing posters. She made 4 huge ones in an hour and a half. Skills... *jealous*
Younger sis: Not really doing anything except being the loud child that she is.
Except she said one thing that made me love her. btw, she calls me unnie since we're Korean.
"Well your competition just wears a bunch of make up. But unnie has natural beauty so..."
lolololololol XDDDDD
Dad: stopping by every once in a while to see how we're doing. He was kinda wondering why my mom was doing the posters but oh well! *shrugs*
Now. Some of you may be wondering:
Why the heck am I so nervous and stuff when I'm only running against one person?
It's only a high school election... right?
No. Here's a sad story. (btw if you're bored, I'm so sorry TT.TT)
Ahem. I have noooo talents in sports, arts, or instruments. I am a good student academically speaking but it's super rare for college just to give out academic scholarships unless you're the next Einstein or something. So I try REALLY REALLY hard to just be involved in school clubs as much as possible. Being the next Vice Pres will help sooo much when I'm applying for colleges later on...
And truthfully speaking, I am very competitive and I am a perfectionist. I don't take losing that well...
And one time... well actually last year, I ran for Vice President in middle school. I was running against one other girl and this other boy. I was really hoping that I would win. I really wanted to.
And then election day came and the results came out the day after... I had lost the election.
By 2 votes.
I cried so so much that day. I was hating myself and I was thinking of how all the smallest things could have made a big difference. If that one friend hadn't been absent that day, would I have won? And then even worse...
My best friend came up to me a few months after the election... and told me she had voted for the girl who won. My best friend.
So yeah... I was depressed at that time... and I prayed that something like this would never happen again.
But that was middle school. This is high school now and high school really matters.
And I might seem like an over-acheiving nerd to some right now but... I REALLY want this.
So... pray for me? :D
Wish me some luck?
Unnies and oppas, any words of wisdom?
kekeke thanks for listening through this if you did <33333
You're special to me.
