Boston Marathon Bombing

So...

Good news! And bad news.

Good news first! This is my first blog on AFF. Yay! I hope many of you read it, since I spent a long time writing this. :')

But I'm afraid that it's not gonna be a very happy post.

Bad news.

I'm not sure if any of you guys know, but every year in Boston, MA (my city), we have a marathon (click to read about it since it's pretty awesome) where anyone can..well...run. xD

It's supposed to be a happy day for all Bostonians to enjoy, having fellow citizens run the 26.2 mile around the city. But unfortunately, there was a terrorist attack in the midst of it today. In fact, 2 bombs exploded, both at the finish line, one after the other and less than a mile from the other, and 2 others found and dismantled, one of which was at a hospital near Chinatown and many of my friends' homes. Thank God.

So far, as I know from the news watching now, 3 people have died, 1 of which is an 8-year old child, and over 100 injured. People were sent to every hospital around: Beth Israel, Brigham Women's, Mass General, etc.

I thought that it was gonna be a great day, as I was able to go watch the marathon. And as a Boston resident my entire life, I was extremely excted to go watch it since 2 people that I knew were running. The bombing was at the finish line, the Boston Public Library, and I was fortunately only 2 miles away from there, safe yet still in danger.

I never thought that a day that were should be enjoying could end up in such a terrible way.

Right now, it's all over the news in Boston, and in no time, I'm sure it'll be all over the world.

Like President Obama said, "Boston is a tough, resilient town and so are its people."

And I agree. For the 15 years of my life, living in Boston was amazing. I loved the people. I loved the places. I loved the views. Never once did the thought of "bombs" come across my mind.

As one the oldest cities in America, Boston is strong, and we will definitely get through this.

I know this isn't the usual post most AFF authors write about but I just wanna get this out. Not for pity. Heck no. But for everyone to know. Just know, and understand what's happening in the world.

Where there is peace, there is war. Always. But I believe and hope that a better day will come.

So that sums up my first blog post. I hope many of you comment your thoughts, as I will try to read everyone.

Thanks. :']

A normal day that should have been the joy of hardworking and strong people from Boston... Runnier by the bombings... I also saw such things on Tumblr and my heart broke. I am praying for everyone's welfare and please do be careful. May God Bless you and all the people who are injured and may God guide the souls of the departed.

Again God bless and please take care of yourself!
