Breakfast at Tiffany's

While eating breakfast this morning, I was thinking of blogging something light and funny because I am close to falling down the abyss of fear and loathing. I still have dark shadows. But when I face the light, the shadows are behind me. It is just that sometimes, I find myself looking over my shoulder and see the shadows following me. Anyway, I was able to pull myself together and focus on the light ahead of me. And this is not the point of this post.

Yesterday, I set playbook's music player in random and then Breakfast at Tiffany's filled my station. It was the first time I heard the song and I liked it. It was only this afternoon that I searched the lyrics. Hihi. Breakfast at Tiffany's is a film! So I googled it of course.

And I got this:

"You know what's wrong with you, Miss Whoever-you-are? You're chicken, you've got no guts. You're afraid to stick out your chin and say, 'Okay, life's a fact, people do fall in love, people do belong to each other, because that's the only chance anybody's got for real happiness.' You call yourself a free spirit, a 'wild thing,' and you're terrified somebody's gonna stick you in a cage. Well baby, you're already in that cage. You built it yourself. And it's not bounded in the west by Tulip, Texas, or in the east by Somali-land. It's wherever you go. Because no matter where you run, you just end up running into yourself..." - Paul in Breakfast at Tiffany's

This is my version:

"You know what's wrong with you, Keeper? You're chicken, you've got no guts. You're afraid to stick out your chin and say, 'Okay, life's a fact, people do make mistakes, people fail, because that's the only way you will learn and become better.' You call yourself choleric, melancholic, and you're terrified somebody's gonna dump you inside a pressure cooker made of people's expectations. Well, Keeper, you're already in that cooker. You went in it yourself... It's wherever you go. Because no matter where you run, you just end up running into yourself and your fears." -Keeper's twin, Dinner at Home
