Tonight has to be the best night that I’ve had in a long time…and by long time, I mean a very long time. I mean, I’m just happy thinking about it, even though the other party was sometimes annoyed, I think that he still enjoyed it.

Wondering who the ‘he’ is?

Well the ‘he’ is none other than Puppy. Of course it wasn’t just me and Puppy since that would be referred to as a date, and we can’t have that happening now, can we. It was me, Puppy, and the nameless neighbor tonight, the three of us. Right now it’s 12:12 AM as I write this sentence and I literally came back to the dorms at 11:45 after leaving here at about 5:45. That’s how long I’ve spent with them exploring around Philly.

And for those of you that don’t know, I am in Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love as it’s nicknamed, but whatever, that’s not the important point. Well I guess it is sort of important to know about where I am to understand where I went/what I did tonight.

I went to First Friday. Here’s a description of First Friday since most of you probably don’t know what it is. I found it off of the website here.

When: The First Friday evening of each month, rain or shine, year-round. Hours: 5 to 9 p.m.

Where: A large number of galleries can be found between Front and Third, and Market and Vine Streets

The Experience: Want proof of Philadelphia’s happening art scene? On the first Friday evening of every month the streets fill with art lovers of all kinds who wander among the neighborhood’s 40-plus galleries, most of them open from 5 until 9 p.m.

A casual atmosphere encourages art and people watching, eating at Philadelphia’s fantastic restaurants and just plain mingling. There’s a diversity both in the crowd and among the galleries, adding flavor to the experience. Most galleries can be found between Front and Third, and Market and Vine Streets.

So, and since most of you probably don’t understand what any of that means, it’s basically just a place where people who like art or just want to get out into the city go and explore and have fun. Even though that’s what you’re supposed to do, that’s not necessarily what I did the entire time…or at any point tonight. But it’s held in Old City in Philadelphia, which is like the very early number streets, like Second Street. And for those of you that don’t know what Old City is, it’s the place where all of the historical buildings are in Philadelphia, you know, the ones that you read about in history books when you’re reading about American history.

But let’s get on to the night.

The nameless neighbor and I were already planning on heading over to First Friday and we were sort of bugging Puppy to go with us because he sometimes go since he works at one of the theaters down there. Anyway, so we went over to his room at like 5:30 and were bugging him that he should go with us to get dinner since my RA wanted to head over (but in the end we never went over with them).

So we were bugging Puppy that he should come with us while he was playing his stupid game, and after like fifteen minutes to a half an hour of bugging him, he finally agreed to come with us. Together, the three of us rode the subway and went to the theater that he worked at. After he showed us around, we went across the street to eat at some place and then we went back to the green room of the theater and ate it. Once we finished our dinner, Puppy went somewhere to ask the director of one of the shows if the nameless neighbor and I could stay and watch them. They were doing the thing when they just run through the show and then nitpick at everything to make it perfect.

And then we stayed there…

Like I’m dead serious…we stayed there for like 3 hours watching it, but it wasn’t like it was boring or anything. Honestly, I enjoyed it. I think that it’s so much funnier than watching the actual performance since you could hear all of their comments and their making fun of things that they were doing. Basically you could just hear things that you wouldn’t normally hear if you were watching the performance, obviously.

But it was fun, I enjoyed sitting there and watching it for three hours.

When we were leaving, we played a trick, Puppy and I, on the nameless neighbor. She went to the bathroom and he and I pretended to leave the building, knowing that she probably wouldn’t be able to find her way out. He acted like he was leaving and I was in charge of opening and closing the door. Then we both hid around the corner until she came out of the bathroom. Then she left the room. When we emerged from where we were hiding, after stifling our laughters, which was pretty hard since we both tend to laugh a lot and very easily, we discovered that she took his backpack, but she was only waiting outside of the stairs since she knew that we wouldn’t be able to leave her.

Anyway, we left at like 10:30 and went to this ice cream place, a famous ice cream place, Franklin Fountain, where they make homemade ice cream. And the hour was really long, despite it being kind of a cold night; I mean the wind was blowing and stuff. It really took us like a half an hour to get our ice cream, and all three of us got milkshakes, but that’s really beside the point.

The moments that we had when we were standing in line waiting were hilarious. Since it was past ten, and it was probably past Puppy’s bedtime, he was getting a little agitated at the things that we would do, but it was alright. We were only joking and I’m pretty sure that he understood that, but it was getting late and we were in the cold, so I guess anyone would be agitated.

But we were just joking around, like grabbing onto his backpack to demonstrate how to pitpocket someone, and then just talking. Then he was getting annoyed telling us to stop talking, but most of the time we weren’t even talking to him, so I think he was just saying it to say it.

And then something really weird happened, I don’t know if it’s really weird to Puppy, but I mean it’s kind of weird for me…more like really weird? It was weird for me, I have no idea if it’s weird for him or if he thinks anything of it, maybe he does, I don’t know, but I’ll talk about those other things later.

The thing that I’m talking about now actually happened when we were waiting in line for ice cream, or rather our milkshakes. The nameless neighbor reacts very well to thinks, like if you get close to her and she thinks it’s awkward, she will straight up tell you that it’s awkward and stuff like that and like if you put your face close to hers, especially if you’re a boy and not her boyfriend, then she’ll kind of like be taken aback a bit and back up. I, on the other hand, don’t do that. Can you start to see where it’s going?

So Puppy was doing that to the nameless neighbor while we were standing out there and I wasn’t really paying attention since he was doing it a lot to her, but he suddenly came close to me and I didn’t move, I simply started at him.

And by close, I mean he was close…like our noses were like touching…and he might have accidentally brushed by my lips. But the second part…I’m not so sure about, it happened so quickly. All I know is that he was close and then both of us realized how close we were and he suddenly backed up. Nothing was awkward after that since I guess neither of us wanted to think that much about what had just happened between us.

That was like the only awkward thing that happened, but I might have reason to believe that Puppy likes me back…maybe…I’m not entirely sure…but some things tonight were a bit…different from what he normally does.

I mean, so it was the three of us, me, Puppy, and the nameless neighbor. Every time we were doing something, Puppy would mention something about me and him and then always leave the nameless neighbor out of it, like he said that he and I would get off the subway at the point where we needed to get off while the nameless neighbor would wait until the next stop for no good reason.

And then while we were also on the subway going back to the campus, I once looked up at him to see where his milkshake level was since he was drinking his milkshake really fast for it being past eleven at night and for him getting a large. But anyway, I looked to see where he was while drinking it and I think I caught him staring at me. I’m not entirely sure, but as soon as I looked up to see his cup, I saw his head move to look down. Of course that could mean anything, but…I have absolutely no idea.

There also was some stuff that he did while we were waiting in line for the ice cream, besides the possible closeness mishap. He also kept staring at me and we would sort of have mini staring contests with each other, I guess they would be mini staring contests? I honestly have no idea, but he kept looking at me, even when I wasn’t doing anything to him, I wasn’t even talking.

I don’t know. Tonight was just…weird. Maybe I’m totally overreacting about this whole thing and reading too much into things, but something just felt different. It was one of the best nights that I’ve had in a while, it was really fun, but just some things were weird, like it felt like something was a bit off…but I have no idea…

Plus, is it kind of weird if he remembers stuff about me? Like the stupid stuff. He kind of has like a mental list going of things that I’ve never done before and always says that I’m missing out, and it’s stuff that you wouldn’t normally think either, or know about me unless I said, and I’m pretty sure I only said the stuff once. Like how I’ve never seen an entire Star Wars movie and how I’ve never seen an Indiana Jones movie. Yes, I’ve never seen those. But he remembers that and says that, it’s kind of weird but I guess maybe not really…once again, I have no idea.

Anyway, thanks for reading this drabble, this stupid little drabble here…I don’t know.

I really liked tonight, it was fun hanging out with Puppy and the nameless neighbor, but it just feels like something is different between me and Puppy, but I have no idea what it is…

Do you think he possibly might like me too?
