Okay so Once upon a morning.... I woke up to this:

SHINee‘s Jonghyun was reported to have been involved in a car accident earlier today.

On April 1st, SM Entertainment revealed “Jonghyun ran into the guard rails on Dongho Bridge earlier today while driving his own car to return to the dormitory after visiting his home.”

SHINee’s fans don’t have to be too upset because they also shared, “Jonghyun didn’t suffer major injuries, but he got hurt around his nose so he’s currently receiving treatment in the emergency room at a hospital in Gangnam. After undergoing tests at the hospital, he will decide what to do with his future schedule.”

We hope the injuries were minor and wish you a quick recovery Jonghyun!

Note: Although it is still April 1st in South Korea, many news outlets are reporting this as legitimate.  We will keep you posted.

'SHINee' Jonghyun (23) involved in accident with taxi in early morning

Jonghyun was involved in a car accident while driving his own vehicle near Dongho Bridge on 1 April at around 3.40am in the early morning. Jonghyun was on his way back to the dormitory in Gangnam after leaving his home in Gangbuk.

The cause of the accident has been confirmed due to Jonghyun's inexperienced driving skills. Gangnam Traffic Police investigation team has expressed that "Jonghyun was negligence in driving" and "His car grazed against the taxi's front right hood and thereafter hit the safety railing".

Jonghyun has also honestly admitted to the contents stated above in the police investigation. The relevant staff said, "A breathalyzer test was immediately conducted after the incident and the cause was not due to consumption of alcohol, he was free to go after settling the insurance issues."

Thankfully it has been confirmed that the injuries are not serious. "Jonghyun and the cab driver sustained minor injuries", "Jonghyun sustained nasal bone injury, the taxi driver sustained minor injuries."

Jonghyun is currently undergoing medicial examination. SM staff has expressed, "Jonghyun is receiving treatment in the Emergency Room", "Relevant schedules will be adjusted after completion of the medical examination."
