Best I Ever Read (so far)
You ever had that moment when you finished a truly epic fanfic? Well, that just happened to me today and . . .
Like, seriously, I just can't even comment because there's nothing I would say that would be worthy of the authors' greatness (there were two writers). So in honor of the story that practically destroyed my heart with bursting feels, I want to list my favorite completed AFF stories thus far. I will not rate them because what mother can choose between their children, but I will just say, you can't go wrong with any of these because of the sheer quality of the writing.
The Story of Us by GDonTOP and i_feel_electric
This story just finished and OMG, earth shatteringly good. Get past the slow start (really not slow, just free) and get into one of the best RELATIONSHIP stories ever. The is white hot, but the love is the real star hear. GTOP
Okay, generally vampires are ruined for me because most people try to do that Twilight overly icky style vampire thing. But this is a more mature look at just what you lose to gain immortality. I will admit that I thought the ending was a bit rushed, but the buildup was fantastic. 2min and Jongkey
Not All's Fair in Love and War by liliac
The hardest fic I ever read. Not because it is so high brow and over my literacy rate (at least I hope not) but because it is so heartbreaking. I won't go into specifics, but please don't read the comments section while you read this story (so many spoilers). It took me several weeks to read the first 30 chapters even though the chapters were done when I started the story. But that was only because I had to be rescusitated several times. Minkey and Jongyu
I'm Straight, Hyung! by shineefangirlmihoo
A personal favorite! I remember subscribing to this story from the first chapter and the author thought it might just be a onehot. Thirty chapters later and it is the feel good story of the year. There is some very real angst and heartbreak in the story, but the ending is so redeeming that it makes up for all of the hurt and pain. Read this now! 2min, Jongkey and a little Yunjae
Follow The Leader by Shiny_A_Plus
SMMMUUUUTTTT!!!!! Onew deserves this story. I get to sick and tired of Onew being written with no drive, no charm, and little to no common sense. In light of his recent scandals (whatever) I submit this story for those of us who think it is time that Jinki got some! Ontae,Onho, Onkey,Jongyu and a million other Shinee OTPs
The Atomic Cafe by i_feel_electric
There are times when a story you in to a little world that you have no desire to ever leave. This is one of those times. Just do me a favor and love this story. GTOP
The only EXO fic I will recommend. My main gripe with EXO fics is that there are too many ing members. The stories tend to get all twisted and convaluted and just generally weak because there is no focus. Not this fic though! The writer does such a great job of sticking with a main couple but giving the other couples just enough shine to make their inclusion valid. If you are leary about EXO, this is the perfect story to dip your toes in with. EXO OTPs
WHAT YOU HEARD! This is my favorite story by Wolfburglar, who I subscribe to and enjoy the occasional message or two. I would never want to embarass her by showering her with praise but I have to tell the world. This is one of those stories that I would categorized under 'If Only . . .' because if only fairytales were real and unicorns existed. I remember reading the story and feeling like that high school girl in an ellicit love affair with the school kingka and hoping that one day he would tell the world and we would ride off into the sunset. Once again, the ending may seem a bit rushed, but hey, isn't "...and they lived happily ever after" sort of a rushed ending too? 2min, Joontae, Ontae and light Jongkey.
This is super angsty stuff. Like, just bleeding with angst. But I love the recovery story in this fic. This is an Onew like you have never read him before and I think it would be great if more writers would reimagine the stock Shinee character personalities and let them become something a bit more. Onho and maybe a hint of Taekey, but barely.
Just this past month, Mikssi gave up fic writing all together. And honestly, it kind of made me cry. This was the first story I read where I thought "Everything I have read before this is utter CRAP". Emotionally, this story hits all the sweet spots with the right amount of angst to really propel the narrative. Hmmm, so , yeah, I think that's it for now. There are some other stories that I am waiting to finish but this is the best of what I have read so far. Hope you find something you like that you never read before!
