Graphics Review: "Honestly" by laughinglovingminie

Program Used: Photoshop CS6

First Impression: 9/10

This is a really simple, but pretty poster. I like that it's not to flashy, but interesting enough to make me want to read the story behind it.

Technique: 18/20

I think for the most part, you did a really good job tweaking the levels and the brightness and contrast. However, I think you should work on how you blend your photos. I think you did an OK job, but it kind of looks like the girl's hair is randomly sprouting from Minho's body. I think maybe doing a blending mask on both layes so it looks like htey melt into each other, rather than just erashing parts. I also like that you used a simple scratched texture over top of the whole thing. It makes it feel like one of those old photos.

Resources 20/20

Not much to say about this, except that I think you did a great job with your resources. The poster is a simple one, and you don't over use textures or play around too much with the original photos, which give the whole thing a nice, clean feel.

Composition 20/20

Again, I think you did a great job with composing this. You got a face looking straight, and one looking off into the distance. They are clearly sectioned out and the eye can leisurely move around the piece without getting stuck in one place tryign to figure out a whole bunch of things at once. I am a really big fan of the staggered title/subtitle/quotes/credits.

Theme/Mood 20/20

Everything fits great. You can tell it's romance by the muted warm tones, and the fact that there is a melancholy looking dude, and looking-for-the-one giant girl face. Simple as that. Good job.

Typography 19/20

The only thing I would change about this is the type of font that you used for the title. It's a bit too abstract, and it took me a minute to figure out what the letters were trying to say. I like that it is a semi-cursive font, so I would stick to that style, but maybe try something like Affair or Cenizas which are a bit easier to read. And I love the cursive/traditional font combo. It looks reallllly fancy.

Extras 20/20

WONDERFUL. I like simple posters, so yeah.

FINAL SCORE: 96/100
