For theater I have to memorize lines... and stage directions

The highlighted lines are the ones I have to memorize:

 

You know, I really can't stand the way you treat Don when he comes over here. I just think it's disgusting and embarrassing.
 
I think he's disgusting. I can't stand the looks of that boy. He never washes. He dresses in rags.
 
But he's my friend.
 
That's what bothers me. If that's what you find cool, I'm afraid you're going to go around that way yourself. If you value that kind of sloppiness, then what happened to all the things that your father and I have done to bring you up to be neat and...
 
Why should I respect what you respect?
 
Because it's what every decent human being respects. that's why.
 
I don't know. I think Don is decent. He's got other things in his head besides cleanliness. He's a thinker. He writes poetry. He's sensitive to other people. You judge all of my friends just by the way they look.
 
Well, there's a lot people say by the way they look. They're advertising themselves by the way they look.
 
Oh? I didn't know I was a billboard.
 
I hope you're not! But I'm a little worried you'll become one if you start hanging around with a person like Don.
 
Maybe I should judge you by the friends you hang around with. What's her name? Melanie? With the dyed red hair.
 
At least my friends are clean.
 
Clean, but phony! I guess if I'm going to become dirty like Don, then you're going to become phony like Melanie, huh? (pause) Answer that one!
 
I'm not phony! But I can see you've already learned to be rude from your friend, Don!
 
 
 
My stage directions are: start center stage, cross upstage right, cross downstage right, and cross centerstage.
 
ARE ANY OF YOU ACTORS? XD OR ARE IN DRAMA CLUB OR THEATER? PLEASE HELP MEEEEEE
HOW DO YOU GUYS MEMORIZE LINES I'M SO LOST AND MINE ARE REALLY LONGGGGG

BE your character. When you go on stage you're not [insert real name here] but the character. I usually memorize my lines by staring at it for 30 seconds straight. Or you could try singing it in the tune of your favorite song XD

......


Just don't sing your lines. Unless you're part of a musical ^^

I user to be in drama and i had soo much to memorize. So just take the the first part of your lines like the first paragraph and repeat it over and over then try to say it without the script. Once you've got it go on to the next paragraph. Not so sure bout the stage directions though.. Anyway good luck!

I do roleplays and presentations in school. First, I read it over and over again then I ubderstand it and then I memorize. ;)) Try to look at yourself in the mirror while practicing.

if you're allowed you can slightly adjust some of your lines so it's easier for you to remember, because it's likely that if you write your own lines you're able to remember it better.

I AM AN ACTOR.
All you really need to do is read it over with someone and you recite your own lies. Tell them not to let you look at the paper, and do the best you can without stopping to give it a second guess.
