Fic teaser?!?!

Lina liked to sit in the rain and watch people scurry around trying to find shelter. As a kid her mother always told her that rain was the tears of God that would wash away the sins of his children. So now she would sit in the rain waiting for all of the blood to be washed off of her hands. Children jumped in puddles only to be yelled at by their parents about getting their clothes wet. She missed having parents. Although they were always nagging her, it was their nagging that saved her. Now they weren't here anymore. Lina was alone with only her thoughts to comfort her in her times of needs.

"Hey! Get off my step you street kid!" A shop owner yelled as he popped his head out of the door to yell at Lina. She looked over her shoulder at him and saw the shocked expression on his face. He slowly closed the door and walked away, probably to tell his employees about the freak he had seen outside. Lina stood up and walked away before anyone could start taking pictures of her and asking questions they would never get an answer to. Lina walked with her head up as she watched the tears of God fall upon her. People would move out of her way as she walked down the street without a care in the world. Her clothes pressed tight to her as if they were acting as another layer of skin. Bright lights flashed in shop windows and loud music rolled out onto the street with the peaceful beat of rain tapping against the ground. Lina suddenly felt something bump into her legs, knocking her back a little. She looked down and saw the sweet, innocent face of a child looking up at her. The little boys face changed from a smile to a look of pure confusion as he looked at Lina. He turned around and called for his mother.

"Mommy! What's wrong with her?" He called out loudly as his mother came up to politely pull him away. His mother chuckled at his question but when she saw what the little boy saw she just grabbed her child and walked away quickly. Lina sighed and reached into her back pocket to pull out her aviator sunglasses. Lina continued her walk, the boys innocent question ringing through her head. The hairs on the back of Lina's neck started to stand up and from the corner of her eye she could see a dark figure pass by her. Looking at the mans back there was something eerily familiar about him. He cocked his head to the side and a small smile pulled at the corner of his lips. Lina knew him. He was the reason she was like this. The man turned down an empty street with his jacket collar pulled up against his neck. Lina ran down the side walk and turned where the man was. Nothing. No sign of him. He was a spirit constantly drifting in and out of her life. Again from the corner of her eye the dark figure catches her attention.

"There." She mutters and runs off to where he was standing before. Nothing. Gone again. Lina cursed under her breath and stomped her foot down on the ground splashing water on her already soaked through jeans. A couple of people came walking down the causing a ruckus as people usually do. Lina pitied people. They needed to feel loved. They needed to feel the constant warmth of a companion of some sort. Not Lina. She was perfectly happy wandering the Earth by herself.

"Hey girly..." A man called out with his friend standing beside him, holding an umbrella above the two of them. They walked over to Lina with wolfish grins on their faces, like they knew something she didn't. To be honest all of the men’s thoughts were clearly written on their face. Lina tried to walk past the men but they didn't seem to be the type who took rejection nicely. "Hey...I was talking to you!" The man said grabbing Lina and pulling her towards him with great force. Her sunglasses slipped off of her face and bounced off the ground. "Oh wow...look at this!" The guy said looking at Lina with wide eyes. Tired of seeing their faces Lina decided to blow off some steam on these low life’s. Lina grabbed the man’s wrist and with a simple twist there was a loud crack and the man clutched his wrist screaming in pain.

"HEY YOU !" The other man yelled and raised his hand to slap Lina. She blocked his hand and punched the man in the ribs. Lina could feel them snap under her fist and watched the man crumble to the ground, stunned at what had just happened. People started gathering around the two men who were howling in pain. Lina quickly picked up her glasses and made her way back out into the main road. She was tired. The rain started to slow down into a light drizzle and Lina could feel the weight of the world growing on her shoulders again. She made her way into a public bathroom and kicked open all of the stalls to see if anyone else was there. Once she was sure that she was alone Lina leaned against the skin, looking at her reflection in the dirt covered mirror. She slicked her wet hair back, her strong features only looking more fierce without her hair in her face.

"Oh man...I really need a shower." Lina sighed and pulled her glasses off and rested them on the edge of the sink. The mark that showed what Lina was shined in the flickering bathroom lights. Her eyes are a deep reddish purple that had a thick black ring around her pupil. If someone looked at the pupil long enough they would notice that in the centre of it was a small diamond. This was part of her punishment. To sell her soul she had to wear her mark where everyone could see her. Lina sold her soul to the devil and now she had to pay the price. For Lina to have everything, she had to give up everything. Including the people she loved.
