No warnings. You'll get banned.

I wonder if I should have just talked to that user/AFFer, advised her to place her reference.

I did that before but author wasn't so happy with me. I would gladly put her name here but I don't want to get kicked out from the site.

I thought she would receive a warning and they would ask her to just place the reference like the other time. When I received the email that the ticket has been dealt it, I first looked for the fic and found it removed. Then I clicked on her username, which is on the list of my previously visited profile pages, and then saw that frightening message: User has been reported by the community for violations of the terms of service resulting in the ban of this account.

Eh. Then why do I still see other plagiarizers here? Especially in the front page where one got featured.

I reported her for the same offense. She didn't put her reference and the fic is already reaching a hundred chappies. Lol. Her account isn't banned. They merely told her to place the reference in the foreword. And she even sent me a friend request. OTL. Not accepting. Eheh. I hate complications.

Either mods are stricter now or the other user has used up all of her warnings.

Oh well. Be sure not to commit the same mistake.

It is so easy to create a ticket guys. And just link everything.

It would be a hassle to deal with highly emotional authors who, rather than asking the plagiarizer to out the fic down, will dedicate a whole chapter of her story about the crime. It would just blow into epic proportions once the readers decide to put matters into their own hands and bring justice to their beloved author.

I know it is their right to know. Like I would like to know if someone copied from me. (Thankfully, I can manage on my own.)

But I do like to make my life simple.

Just don't do it. Don't plagiarize.

Or hide from me because I can't turn a blind eye.

This Keeper hates creating tickets. But it is something that needs to be done else risk losing AFF because a publishing house or a published author sued us for plagiarism.

they should not have done it in the first place, tsk tsk tsk
Mods should be stricter, we know, but they give leeway as much as possible, that's why AFF is loved by many, but abused by a whole lot of scoundrels

yap, I too don't want to be banned from this place, this is like home
