Which is it?

I don't know if it is some kind of rebellion against English teachers or the subject, that some AFFers don't use the period, comma, exclamation point and question mark; or they are expressing freedom of expression by not capitalizing the pronoun 'I' , the first letter of a proper name and the first letter of the first word in a sentence because small letters are way cuter.

I understand that AFF doesn't have an established format or set of guidelines on how to write a story.

I also understand that this not a place to look for Tolkien or Lewis-caliber fics. I pointed this more than once in every rant blog or fic I encounter and even in some of my past posts. I love you guys that is why I defend you because I know that most of us here are newbs. No one got it right the first time.

But it doesn't mean that we should not care about certain conventions. We were taught about this in school. We should, at least, apply what we have learned.

This is a site for fanfiction written by amateurs; amateurs, not lazy people.

I could at least expect that when I read a story - a Keeper friendly story that doesn't require me to mentally edit every sentence I see.

I also often said that if you don't like what you see, leave. But all I do now is leave. OTL.

I turned to contests for links of stories. Since they are contest entries, I expect them to have better quality than most fics here.

Once again, Keeper is so so wrong.

And when I read the comments, I wonder whether we are seeing the same text. OTL.

Do the books you read in your school look like that?

AFF is supposed to be fun. FUN. Using punctuation marks is not boring. And checking your spelling and verb tenses can be fun too. Especially for Keeper who is reading.

When you post a chapter, ask yourself if you are happy with how it came out. Better yet, read it. Can you read it?

Or if oppa miraculously discovers AFF, will you show him your story? Will you be proud enough to show him your work?

Okay, Keeper is not oppa. And oppa is not here. Bad analogy.

But, don't you want to make something you could be proud of?

You might say that this is just AFF.

But if you can't perform well here, how will you survive reality? Will you always be complacent? Always doing mediocre work and not aspiring for excellence? That because you are tired, it is okay to give your boss a half-baked report?

Every little thing we do is preparation for greater things tomorrow.

We might not get published. Our stories might remain here forever, seen by a few.

But at least, you made something that is of worth. It could be an encouragement, a lesson in life you want to share or just purely entertainment for the sake of spazzing fangirls. How can you deliver these messages to your readers when you can't be bothered to make your story presentable...readable?

I'm sorry if I sound harsh, but your work is a reflection of who you are.

Go ahead and check my stories, hihi, find fault in me. My list reflects the impulsive personality of the Keeper. I have a dozen fics, which need updating. I am flawed as well. I don't update regularly. But at least I make my chapters presentable.

I am being overly dramatic once again.

I'd seen so many of those by pressing 'random story' and I seldom read, too hahahahhaha

I hear you, and feel you
