◊ Behind the looks

Plotline: 5 - The Playboy

Personality: At first glance, he's very gentleman like and always tries to help people by being friendly and nice to them, but  he's also extremely blunt, straightforward, and rash, he's very quick to using an onslaught of verbal abuse if someone pisses him off (and only when they piss him off). He treats those he likes and those he dislikes relatively the same and never uses violence to get what he wants. He actually hates the use of unnecessary violence and deems it inapprorpiate and childish, looking down upon those who rely on brute strength. Minhwan also abhorrs doing unnecessary work and will try to slip away without anyone noticing, though if they force him to do something, he will argue and complain ceaselessly. What he hates more than being stuck on an island are those who force him against his will. Minhwan is quite the rebel.

Also, he's very eloquent and witty with words, having a charisma that makes people admire him without really trying to. He's not very modest either, and if someone compliments him in something he knows he's good at, he just says something along the lines of "Thanks, I know." On the other hand, if he's comfortable and able to trust the person he's with, all his defenses come down and he's a lot more open and free than with a large group of people where he has to keep his image of a "badass playboy" up. All of his friends tell him to settle down and try to find someone he can actually be serious, but so far that's been impossible as he doesn't want to get close to anyone and find out that they only restrict him (in other words, he loves his freedom). Love, romantic love at least, doesn't quite exist in his world as he's never emotionally felt attached or connected to anyone.

Contrary to his stuck-up image, he's actually not that mean or bad, instead, he's too embarrassed to straightforwardly help people and instead helps out in the background, especially to those in a worse situation then he's in. He complains a lot, but has a kind heart and if you ask him nicely enough or forcefully with words, he'll do it. On the other hand, those who are cruel and flaunt their wealth, he smooth talks and flirts with them and exploit their money and breaks up with them afterwards to teach them a lesson in his twisted own way.

He tries to act cool, but easily gets flustered and turns a bright red when he's caught doing something extremely embarrassing or something unlike himself. Takes care of his image very well and it takes a lot to break past his defensive walls to his true, passionate side. He avoids things he's bad at. One way to get closer to him is to just be alone and talk with something he's interested about and that's when he'll start going off on a tangent and show his true self.

Likes:

  • The beach -  it's quite and he likes to walk down the shore barefoot to help him concentrate. Reminds him of Busan to some extent (with a lot less people)

  • Alcohol - Being intoxicated helps forget more easily and move on. Just likes drinking in general as it helps him get more relaxed and comfortable.

  • Nature - Obviously as a photographer, he has an affection for nature and beauty in general. If only his camera had survived the crash

  • Movies/Films - As a photographer, he loves watching movies for the filmotography and the use of cameras and angles. It's an enlightening experience for his work.

  • One night stands - No connections and they're much easier to cast aside and forget than any actual committment.

  • Clubs - Loud music and a large crowd to fit, that's where he was happiest and spent the majority of his time.

  • Submissive people - They're easier to control and thus, he enjoys their company and flaunting what he has over them. He also doesn't like moving so he can get others to do it for him.

  • Skinship - He's a playboy, but not just that, he just sincerely enjoys and takes comfort in touching another.

Dislikes:

  • Snakes - They're disgusting and gross and just everything terrible mixed into one.

  • Opinionated/Close-minded people - They remind him of his father and that's why he dislikes those who are unable to embrace change or difference

  • Confrontation - There's nothing more awkward than if a girl comes chasing after him and he has to coldly reject her.

  • Being forced - He hates being forced to do something he doesn't want to and will openly fight against the person.

  • Leeks - He absolutely despises leeks and will act childish so he won't have to eat them

  • Rich people - Growing up with the problem of always lacking money, he despises those who flaunt their status and easily throw things away.

Habits:

  • Have a calm, almost innocent-like look on his face when he lies so it's almost always undetectable.

  • Biting the inside of his cheek when he's nervous.

  • Subtly flirting whenever he's with a pretty girl (has a crooked half-smile and his lips)

  • Flails and uses exaggerated hand motions when he's really flustered.

  • Ruffles people's hair when he's trying to comfort them.

  • Hugging people tightly when he's extremely upset.

  • Sharp tongue that harshly reprimands people when he's angry

Fears:

  • Snakes - He won't admit it, but he absolutely hates and is deahtly afraid of snakes. Minhwan will freeze up and stop and if they approach him, he'll flinch and run behind someone

  • Large Bodies of Water - He freaks out since he can't swim and will flail wildly. He's fine with shallow water, but panics when he can't see the bottom.

Hobbies:

  • Walks down the beach

  • Clubbing

  • Photography (or taking pictures in his mind if his camera is broken/lost)

  • Making decorative items from things he finds scattered around - nimble fingers that make it easy for him to mold and twist things.

  • Drinking

Trivia:

  • Extremely high alcohol tolerance

  • Never cries, no matter how emotional the moment

  • He's always wanted to be in the film industry, but was forced to give it up due to the lack of money

  • Gives a large portion of what he owns to his family to help them and especially his sister live well

  • Blood Type: O

  • Fav things include: Silver, irises, wolves/foxes, symbolic films

  • Has an extensive knowledge of flower's since his mom is a florist.

◊ More about your previous life

Background: Born into a traditional family in the suburbs of Busan, at the age of 14 (his sister was 7), he and his sister were brought along to the States as his father had gone for a project in the Univeristy of Chicago. Staying in Chicago, he was brought up in a more carefree environment for four years (graduated from high school) before coming back to Korea. In Korea, his father enforced strict regulations again and after being in Chicago and making a lot of friends, it spurred his rebellious spirit and the conflicts with his father started happening then and still continue now to this day. He doesn't come from a rich family, actually, they had quite a bit of money trouble and Minhwan worked as a model a couple of times after being casted on the streets but quit as he found it quite boring. On the other hand, he loved the photography side of it and found a passion with the camera and helped his mother start a florist shop by taking pictures for advertisement.

His player habits actually started when he was in college. Minhwan had started drinking from the age of 16 in the States and that habit followed him into Korea and eventually got worse as he hit college and was elligible to get into clubs. His only escape from the traditional family lifestyle, he, instead of hurting his family members, instead found solice in hurting himself in a way (with all the drinking and partying) and that eventually led to him using his good looks and smooth talking to get some benefits from the girls at the club. He usually targets richer women as they flaunt their status and money more easily.

Family members:

Jung Hyunshik | 56 | University professor at Busan University - Education | Very traditional and only wants the best for his children. Has a bad relationship with Minhwan as he believe his son is wasting his time with photography and clubs. Fights often with him about the most trivial things and he has a quick temper which his two children also has. More than often, he's kicked Minhwan out of the house (though he lets him come back home soon) | Father

Moon Heesun | 54 | Florist of her own shop | Kind and the one who usually helps taper out her husband's anger. Always works very hard and does whatever's best for her children even if they don't have enough money for those extravagencies. She lets him do as he wishes if that brings him happiness and always cooks food that he likes when Minhwan comes to visit | Mother

Jung Minjin | 17 | High school student | Kind, cheerful, and one who never fails to make Minhwan smile. Very rash and emotional, cries and gets angry easily but cools down very fast. He's very protective of her and she relishes being spoiled, but doesn't abuse it. She's a lot smarter than him and does well in school, also quietly following along with what her father says (though she comes over to Minhwan's place to rebel and complain with him) | Younger Sister

Lifestyle: Minhwan has lived alone in a small, yet reasonably sized apartment in Busan from the age of twenty ever since that huge argument he got in with his father. When he's not working in a photo shoot, he's usually clubbing and getting drunk somewhere, often bringing girls into his apartment. Three times a week, he visits his family's home in the suburbs of the city and eats dinner with them while trying not to cross his father. He's not extremely wealthy, but has enough money to sustain himself and sends the rest to his family secretly through his mother to help support them as well.

◊ The Lover

So, you wanna be stranded with her?

[[ the pictures are all so squashed orz ]]

◊ Basic Information

Plotline: Plotline 2 - The Workaholic

Name: Park Sojin (Girl's Day)

Age:23

Occupation: Graduated with a degree in Mechnical Engineering and International Business, works for her father underneath Park Industry (or some other creative title which might be better than mine). Travels around a lot, dealing with foreign countries as her family's industry supplies engines and car parts. She's pretty much working to become the next CEO of a huge car industry in Korea.

Personality: Ambitious, kind, and eloquent in both words and mannerisms, Sojin's one of those girls who seem like they're above everyone else. The elegance is her cover image, only used in a meeting with strangers or a formal setting. She's also incredibly smart and only want the best for those she cares about. However, she's actually quite childish and has a lot of natural aegyo when you get to know her and has her clear likes and dislikes and has quite a bit of a temper in which she clearly expresses her anger or sadness. Actually, she cries quite easily, but always endures what can be endured before breaking down completely. Not to mention, she always has to go see through things completely and thoroughly before she can move onto another project, which causes her to get stressed easily and unable to relax as working is always priority in her mind.
She's always one of the first to be motivated to work and will actually force others to work through her persuasive words and smooth talking. She hates disappointing others and will always blame herself if something goes wrong as she puts the welfare of others in front of her own health or safety. Sojin tries to connect and interact with everything, as she's quite friendly in nature, and can usually get even the toughest of people onto her side if she really tried. However, she gets easily annoyed by those who refuse to work or those who cheat to gain status or resources and is righteous and conscientious.

How do you act around each other:At first Minhwan flirts with Sojin because, why not? She's pretty and has a nice personality. However, after she continously brushes his advances aside, he starts getting serious and actually tries to get her attention on him. They don't exactly fight, but they throw in a lot of verbal abuse at each other in a way that confuses the others, so like a deeper meaning of critical insult inside of a compliment (that sort of thing?). After seeing him embarrass himself completely, he realizes that Sojin is a lot like him in the situation they're both in with their family and he tries to help her relax and always tries to stop her from overworking herself. Though if she insists on working, he'll take over and work as he instructs her to do. In front of the others, they seem very distant and critical of each other but by themselves, all the defensives are relaxed and they are quite friendly with one another. Sooner or later, one thing leads to another, and Minhwan finds himself getting confused about his relationship with Sojin.

Another thing is that the two enjoy teasing each other ceaselessly about their weaknesses, Minhwan on his fear of deep water and snakes and Sojin in her fear of bugs and mice.

[[ I was thinking that if they get off the island, Minhwan goes and surprises Sojin with a sudden bouquet of flowers and a card stuck in it that asks her out on a date wondering if they could "Start over" from after the crash or something ; u ; just something like that? ]]

Background: Born as the oldest child, Sojin has one younger brother (and a ton of close cousins) whom she takes for as her parents are much too busy. Also a traditional family, Sojin's family closely mirrors Minhwan's family, though instead of rebelling, she accepted and did her best to help her father out in his work. Though, she had originally wanted to become a singer or composer, she gave up her dream after an argument with her father and even took mechanical engineering to please him. Other than that, she grew up normally, albeit with a lot more business talk and meetings than the average high school girl. Sojin's always done well in school and she even amped up her studies and whatnot so she would never be a disappointment or annoyance to her parents. In a way, she craved their attention and always put a max amount of effort in whatever she did to attain it.

If you want some more information (about the actual person that could be used):   1

◊ The Secrets

So, what are you hiding?

◊  The Girls  ◊

Plotline 2: "I only need paper and ink"

Why did she become a workaholic: Said in the background as well. Sojin wanted her parents attention and worked extremely hard for it. In a way, she hates disappointing people and will in a way sacrifice her own time and welfare to do so.

How will she react on the storm?:To distract herself from the work she's missing out in her father's company, she'll throw herself into working nonstop for the welfare of the others on the island. As an ambitious girl, she won't give up and rest until the work is finished completely and thoroughly.

◊  The Boys ◊

Plotline 5: "Don't hate the player, hate the game"

How does he treat the girls on the island: Minhwan treats them the same as any girl in the city, though with a little more respect than usual as getting them mad would create more trouble for him than necessary.

What kind of girl can he possibly fall in love with? : She would have to be more outgoing and forceful, strong in not exactly a physical, but more emotional way. Someone who isn't afraid to push him around and ask him to do things, but never cruel and always kind, even a bit silly at moments. The girl would be someone much like his sister. It's even better if she's pretty.

◊  Everyone need to answer these ones ◊

Who was with you on the plane ?: Minhwan was by himself.

Why were you on the plane: He went to the States to visit and help out a friend he owed to start up his restaurant in NYC by taking pictures for advertisement, the menu, etc.

◊ The Extras

Have anything more to say?

Comments: I hope you like him orz, also Sojin actually is a mechnical engineer so ; u ;... I thought it would help?

Scene suggestions:Um, something like the two find a lake/pond somewhere in the island and Minhwan falls in and starts freaking out and is unable to get up until Sojin helps him. (But then it turns out the water is not even waist deep). Something silly like that would help them relax around each other is what I was thinking, but c: its up to you~.

Is that Jiyeon in that gif? She's so pretty! And one of my bias too :)
Now, there actually is a lake on the island, that scene could actually happen for real... XD
