Even at school!

I think this is a good place to rant a little bit about what happened to me last Thursday in school.

I had an oral exam in English and what I had to do was prepare a 10 minutes presentation about anything I like. So i decided to talk about my favourite K-Pop band, Super Junior.

I prepared a list of facts: members, sub units, date of debut, most popular songs, awards, etc. Then I wrote two paragrapsh about why I like them so much. I even brought my SJ cd's to school and a poster so that my classmates could have faces to go with the names. And I thought it would be okay. But it wasn't.

Normally, you would think my classmates were the problem. But no. They actually listened to the whole presentation and even took an interest in the cd's packaging. The problem was my teacher.

Apparently, when she said "talk about anything you like", K-Pop wasn't in her list.

She gave me a 5.

I'm an avarage 9 student in English and I had always gotten 10 for my oral presaentations. But she gave me a 5. And that pissed me off.

When I went to ask her what was wrong with my presentation, she said that it was weird that I chose a band I can't even understand. And that enraged me.

She's a teacher. She's supposed to give marks for skills not for the topic you talk about!

Anyway, I talked to the head of the English department and she said she would talk to my teacher to give me a second chance.

Do you think this is normal?

I totally understand and respect she doesn't like K-Pop, but that shouldn't mean giving out unfair marks.

Anyways, I just needed to get it off of my head.
