Thank you AFF

With all the negativity in this site, I choose to highlight the good things that keep me from leaving my online home.

I came here to read but I became an author. Asianfanfics is where Keeper learned to write. And I would forever be grateful. Of course, the basic elements of story writing (plot development) was taught in school but back then, I did it for the grade. Literature (or Reading Comprehension) wasn't my favorite subject. I had to re-learn it and start from the very beginning. Google is my bestfriend. Still is. (There were no workshops here before. Only stories and graphic shops.)

The layout, writing platform and the features available made it very easy for a beginner like me. Imagine if I had to code everything in a blog? It was just a matter of clicking that 'start wring' button. It couldn't get any easier than that. Everything I need is visible in the screen. And I never got lost.

I came here to read but eventually, I got into the tag box (tbox) where I met my first friends. It wasn't part of my plan. I have been to other forums and I just ninja in and out of them. Online friendship was a vague concept before I thought never possible. Boy, was I so wrong.

Meeting via chat is more personal than meeting via a story or a blog. In a story, you first have that writer-reader/subscriber relationship. In a blog, it is befriending someone you agree with or not. I have friends here I met through rant blogs, lol xD (I was in peacekeeper mode at the time and just dive into strangers' blogs to explain things.) The tagbox is a different story altogether. LOL. It is like meeting your first friends in a playground. It is not like the chatroom where you suddenly feel confused as to why Key is looking for Jonghyun or Taemin, his banana milkshake lol xD (Shinee was the most popular back in 2010).

Now, I have so many friends in my list. Although I don't talk to you that much, I still remember our past conversations; well, some of them, the important ones - the silly ones. Thank you for giving me my name, Keeper. (I found one user named Keeper but she left the site the same day she created the acount back in December 2011)

I came here to read but I became a poet. Thanks to poptart and the tbox. I even have my own collection lol And one poem even earned me the high points one day after signing up in the anime forum. One day old Keeper unknowingly reached the highest  (bakemono) status. I skipped nine levels LOL.

I came here to read but had one of my dreams fulfilled. I now have a 'gallery' where I can call myself an artist. Haha! It is my frustration actually and for a long time, I envied illustrators and painters. If God had given me the ability to recreate the world using my hands, I would have taken Fine Arts or enrolled in Manga school. But God has better plans for me of course.

I came here to read but I found my Sanguine self. I was Choleric before (until now, I think, but not so much). I am much more fun now (at this rate) xD

I came here to read but I got more than what I was looking for. I could go on and on and list everything I gained but I made my point.

Writing stories and poems, having online friends, creating graphics, letting loose... All these never crossed my mind. Yet, here I am living in this reality where I am a writer, poet, artist... the Keeper.

So, thank you AFF...for everything. For making me feel great and foolish at the same time. For accepting me, even without a biodata.

It has been quite an exciting journey.

And I am looking forward for more :)
