height & weight » 178cm, 54kg

appearance » Yun looks very northern Chinese, maybe a touch Mongolian, for a Chinese Indonesian, but that's probably 'cause only her dad is IBC and her mother is a pure Changsha native. She is a study in contrasts- long, very straight black hair, parted in the centre and simpyl styled; clear, fresh porcelain skin with cool undertones that plays up her dark, slanted eyes and strong mouth quite nicely. Her facial structure is quite strong and clearly defined for her race, and people frequently comment on this. She's tall in a slightly disproportionate way, all legs and arms and not really any definite curves, but she carries herself with such a self-possessing air that people tend to only take not of her imposing stature than anything else.

style » Yun has a very avant-garde approach to dressing, clashing colours and silhouettes and pulling it off by sole virtue of looking confident.  Sport tanks, high-low and wiggle skirts, leather jackets, supersaturated colours, it's all there and just a matter of what she throws on in the morning. A clasher, not a coordinator.

extra(s) » Yun has a tattoo on the inside of her left wrist of three parallel lines running up her arms, about 8cm long. While her ears are pierced, she rarely wears earrings. Yun is never without her iPod or a pen.

what makes you different

personality »  Yun is cool, collected and outwardly blase, and she could really care less about everything but her own affairs. She's aloof and dismissive, mostly untalkative and reserved in her body language and gestures. She is very confident and hardly seems affected by other people's words or actions, and has a casual attitude about everything. She doesn't take a lot of things seriously, and comes off as pooly polite and ever-increasingly distant as if everything bores her. She thrives on intellectual challenges and verbal discussions and likes a bit of healthy competition where academics and co-curriculars are concerned, but never accepts being anything that the number one position in everything she does.  Perfectionism is her strength and weakness; Yun abhors mess and chaos in her life and tries to box everything in neatly. Yun is big on economy of effort and will ditch things, acitivites and people she feels are weighing her down in the quickest and (usually) harshest way possible, with no concern for their feelings or thoughts.  Self-preservation is Yun's first priority and she won't hesitate to sell others out to protect her own interests. She doesn't want to wreck people's lives so much as she wants to keep  her own hassle-free. While diplomatic with her words, one can always tell if Yun is judging them.

Still, her whole persona is that of a person straddling the boundary between adolescent and adult. She's connected enough to have influence with kids her age, but poised and educated enough to cruise breezily through adult society. She has the personality of an authoritative figure, and is strong-willed enough to let nothing stand in her way. While it may look like she does very little except watch people and look good, she learns a lot through observation and knows exactly which buttons to press and which weaknesses to manipulate to get other people to do what she wants. Conversely, she knows exactly how to garner respect (if not through fear). As one set apart, a loner on a pedestal, she's like a temporary decoration on any peer group, and she promotes this fact. Yun likes power and influence- it's only natural. She is a scarily accurate judge of people's thoughts, but seldom knows her own very clearly. She prefers the observer role rather than actively or visibly influencing the people and situations around her. Relationships for her are for recreation, and she has the firghtful honesty of a person unconcerned with the soulds they damage. When angered, she is icily so, and acts out maliciously. When surprised she resorts to avoidance and lies pathologically, but ultimately her sense of self and reality rules over her. She has a great sense of subtlety that must not be mistaken for passivity, and her sharp mind means she knows exactly what the big picture is despite all the trials and tribulations experienced below it.

Yun has very tight control over herself, even over others. It would be interesting to see what woudl happen if her control slips.

in a nutshell » Yun is that aloof loner that's part urban myth, part undeniably real, and undeniably uncaring, manipulator. A strong-willed perfectionist, she doesn't take anything seriously, but if you mess with her or her then things will get real very quickly.

likes » 1. Cleanliness and neatness: she likes things to have a certain place and way of being. 2. Good design: again, because she believes in the harmony of form and order and there is nothing more pleasing to the eye. 3. Existentialism/Secular humanism: Yun doesn't like the idea of being watched by an otherwordly power; hence, she chooses to opt for the existentialist belief that everything is a construct entirely constructed by human beings. Very convenient for her. 4. Challenges: she's very intelligent and needs things to occupy her thoughts because she's easily bored. Challenges in any form are the highlights in her life, and are basically the only thing she's impulsive about. 5. MUSIC GENRES: nineties alternative rock, industrial, post-punk, screamo. 6. LITERATURE: Metamorphosis, Kafka; One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Ken Kesey; Haruki Murakami; Invisible Monsters, Chuck Palahniuk; Edgar Allen Poe; Oryx and Crake, Margaret Atwood.

dislikes » 1. Cute, demure and delicate girls: Yun thinks they're wasting their time and should learn how to stand up for themselves. Besides, 95% of the time, the sweet exterior hides a rotten core and it's fun to tear them down. 2. Being treated like a child: Yun can speak, think and reason as an adult, so why should she nto be treated as one? 3. Chaos and disorder: Yun doesn't like being unsure of herself or where she stands. 4. Uncontrollable circumstances: When she's not able to fix her own circumstances or control her destiny. It's a fear of hers, particularly pertinent because of all the things in her past coming back to bite her. Some people are mohttp://www.asianfanfics.com/index.php/blog/edit/461014re resilient than she gives them credit for, and it's a pain when they come back and want to settle a score. 5. Being contradicted or embarrassed in any way: She has an image to maintain and a reputation, and retribution is ensured if anyone gets in the way of that.

hobbies » Reading, writing and discussing deeply with others; people watching; playing with others; pick up and drop relationships, flings; sleeping; she's a part time photographer and models when she needs more money.

vices & habits » She has a bad habit of using people to get what she wants; she plays with people's feelings lightly and makes a habit of not listening halfway through someone saying something to her. Yun's habitually neat and clean; she is also very organised.

special talents » n/a

fears & phobias » She fears losing control and influence. If no-one knows she exists, if no-one looks to her, then how does she exist?

trivia(s) »  Yun is pretty erted, but she doesn't show it that much- she enjoys making ual jokes subtly so that the only people hwo get flustered are the ones she's targeting. She's stingy to unreasonableness at some times and excessively overindulgent at others. She is also a big fan of washlets and firmly believes that bikini wax (or wax of any kind) is from Satan. Yun is not allergic to anything but makes a show of avoiding squishy, slimy foods. Yun wakes up really really slowly and is flirty or just outright y when tired. She's an exhibitionist drunk but she avoids liquor out of habit. Also, when she's out really of it she can't speak in anything but all four of her languages butchered together.

billionaire

life story » Yun as a child was overprotected, with her life controlled and planned out the very last improving detail. From piano to violin, coaching, swimming, track, arts, languages and dance, she had everything laid out in front of her to become a successful, overachieving, overeager Asian child. Yun put up with it until she came into herself in the middle of highschool, about year 9 or so, and gained enough confidence to start wheedling her way out of all these things that her 'rents stuck her with in the name of giving her all available opportunities. While their intents were good and none of this had any detrimental effect, much of what Yun's childhood was prove to her that if she wanted things then she'd have to get them herself, that watching other children and adults squirm was very very fun, and that beating the competition was very very satisfying. Ultimately, though, she dropped most of her co-curriculars except for her arts and languages.

As to Yun's blossoming into a hardened serial dater, nothing of great consequence triggered that. It was mainly little things. Despite a supportive, if stifling, home environment, she grew up seeing the power that influence gave a person. She became used to that ease of living when one is assured of their position in society. And there was the influence of not growing up around many children, which forced her to socialise primarily with adults in an adult manner from a young age. Yun matured quickly and had few qualms about what kind of collateral damage she caused on the way.

family business » The Kusumawidjojo family's primary field of operation, under the name angkasa Agung Group, is in aircraft parts and services. The group provides aircraft maintenant, repair and overhaul services to the Asia Pacific region, as well as quality parts- all for a premium, of course. They ahve a strong share market presence, and are looking to expand into international and domestic flights collaboratively with Garuda Indonesia.

family members »

» Father | Arif Kusumawidjojo | 51 | Chinese Indonesian | CEO of Angkasa Agung Group | Alive | Brisk, level-headed, diplomatic, not easily provoked, decisive but reasonable | Yun and her father are cut from the same cloth - they both like to keep things neat and tidy, and know what they want- so they get along fine, except for when the things they want clash.

» Mother | Aili Kusumawidjojo (nee Zhong) | 49 | Chinese | Political columnist and socialite | Alive | Passionate, dynamic, eloquent, distant, aloof | Mother and daughter get along when they aren't speaking, but it's a battle of wills when they do.

» Siblings| Prisca Fiani Kusumawidjojo 'Fiani' | 22 | Chinese Indonesian | 3rd year university student | Alive | Flighty, sociable, outgoing, confident, strong sense of identity | Yun and Fiani aren't super close, but don't hate each other. They wouldn't put themselves on the line if the other was in a hard situation, but they have a peaceful, if distant, relationship.

family properties » Miami Sydney Melbourne Jakarta are the main residences, but they have other, smaller scale places in Singapore, the Mediterranean and in the rest of Amrerica. The Kusumawidjojo family is looking to expand into Africa as well as Europe.

home sweet home » 1 2 3 4 5

miserable at best

kpop » largely apathetic. It could be better. Yun doesn't follow and neither does her usual social circle, so she knows even less than the bare minimum. For her, it's not something to be really concerned about.

the sweet life » It was all society, events, galleries and viewings and promenades; Yun spent her week in the lap of luxury drifting through the circles of Seoul's elite, making connections and impressions where she could. After all, a political science major should be politic with their associations, should they not? The usual toying with gorgeous boys was inevitable, too.

downfall of us » Of course, she panicked. She didn't show it, though. She just sat in her hotel room for a day shooting texts and emails loaded with barbs at her parents, hoping they'd crack. She then resorted to pulling strings to get people to 'rescue' her form her punishment until she could find a more favourable situation in which she had all the freedoms she needed; however, she found all these people had already been told to deny her by her parents, so she panicked some more because she realised she was still at least partially dependent on her parents. Yun flew into an absolute once in a decade rage and trashed the suite.

why oh why? » She's used one too many people, coolly ignored her parents and broken one too many sons-of-family-friends for her parents to sit back and tolerate it any more. They saw that she was a danger to those around her, growing up too fast and hungering for influence that was not hers to have; hence they sent her off to be reformed and weaned off that dangerous addiction. That, and her 'economy of effort' policy leading to her ditching commitments willy-nilly, hence her perceived lack of responsibility.

part-time job(s) » Despite being cold and distant, one must remember that Yun is very good at what she does. She got a position as a client liason at a small upscale boutique, acting as an intermediary between uncooperative suppliers, ornery store managers and picky customers- all of whom she is usually able to trick into contentment. She knows exactly how to act and what to say to soothe ruffled feathers, but she's a little out of practice and has come close to losing her job several times. However, her languages have saved her more than once, making her a valuable employee to have on the team.

the great escape

academic major » double majoring in international studies and political science. Yun attended Barnard College in Manhattan, one of the original Seven Sisters.

behind the choice? » Yun likes languages, power and knowing people intimately without them knowing her at the same time. Political science and international studies was an obvious choice, and the prestigious college was all her own achievement.

best subjects » Political Theory, International Relations, Korean

worst subjects » Ethics, Policy Analysis, Human Resources

grades ranking » Yun is good at what she does; she gets high A range for her best subjects, mid to low As for her average subjects and mid to high Bs for her 'worst' subject. She believes in being the best.

club(s) » The Left Wing Political Club, Noveau Cultural Society and German Society

the story of us

love interest » list your top10 biases (though refer to list in chapter1) ; while ranking your ultimate bias as number zero ; so it would be 0-10 ; exo's Kai & snsd's Tiffany are taken while author's other biases are free for sharing(?) xD ; can be an applicant :3

#o0. zhang yixing | exo | 21
» personality | quiet, confident, subtly sarcastic, spontaneous, mischievous, likes taunting others, smart
» meeting | Yun was sent on a delivery run to show champion with another idol group's wardrobe items from the boutique on the same day that exo was featuring. Fur coats in one hand, bags of shoes and accessories in the other, while juggling her work phone and a tablet and speaking to a German client inbetween angry texts from her boss and trying to find the right place to put the items from the boutique, she didn't see Yixing. Neither did he, as occupied as he was running from an irate Kris and coordi noonas with power and a hideous shiny jacket and parents calling him to nag. So they ran smack bang into one another, got up and commenced their prickly, barb-laden association. No-one, of course, made comment on the fact that they were both throwing comebacks in disparate languages.
» love story | Yun and Yixing really can't get enough of each other- and by 'each other', they mean pushing the other to the very ends of their tempers with well-timed insults, frustratingly ual subtexts and the very frequent ego jab without regard for the collateral. He's smart and knows how to get her cool facade to slip; she knows exactly which buttons to press to her him angry, flustered and generally hot and bothered.  Their whole dynamic is of age-old friends about to turn friends-with-benefits, and they both keep a blistering pace with thoughts and conversations in hopes of pushing one another over the edge. Other people can't stand to be in the same room as them because Yun and Yixing think nothing of low blows and taking advantage of each other's weaknesses; yet the always feels like it'll explode at any minute. Yixing is brilliant, intelligent, gifted with a dynamic creativity that turns malicious when it comes to Yun, but she can take it and she can give as good as she gets. It's unconsciously cathartic, as they can be as nasty and underhanded to one another as they like, but they'll both always come back for more. Their relationship is about getting things out of their system, letting old resentments and built-up negativity out in a way that's tacitly acceptable for both parties. It's all a game, and when things get serious and they really get pissed at each other, the easy, snarky dynamic turns into a hot mess of anger, frustration and lust that wears them both down to the bone with the intensity of what they feel. They make a show of wanting to trash the other and bring the down as hard as they can, but they harbour strong, unresolved feelings for one another that can't be dismissed or ignored. Neither of them wants to admit that the attraction goes way beyond the fact that the other is an amusing target; while Yixing is less malicious than Yun, she brings out both the best and worst in him, while he takes her to all new frontiers. All in all, they interact smoothly and naturally with the practised ease of old rivals, dancing an intimate and intricate dance of plays and false sentiments fuelled by a passion that will burn the both fo them if they don't face up to it soon.

#o1. kim joonmyun | exo | 21
» personality | idealistic, friendly, dependable, protective, insecure, forgiving, warm-hearted, selfless
» meeting | Suho's been stuck in a rut, depended upon and relied upon from as far back as his early trainee days, just because he's so dependable, practical and approachable. He hasn't taken time out for himself in a long time, nor has he put his needs above the others' for the time he's been one of the leaders of Exo. Predictably, he woke up to himself on some indeterminate day and realised he was choking under the weight of the pressure. He gave in to his craving for escapism and just disappeared for a day, wandering aimlessly around Hongdae and ignoring his phone, taking in the sights and relishing in being largely ignored by everyone around him. Yun practically hit him in the face with a door while exiting a cafe post-lunch break, but really, it was like being hit in the face by a door anyway for Suho, so he followed her all the way back to Myeongdong and burst into the boutique and basically blurted that he really really wasn't stalking her but hello there- And so it began.
» love story | Yun found Suho kind of really cute and awkward, and figured there probably wouldn't be any harm in having him as a kind of backburner project, especially since he sends her sweet texts and nags her to look after herself. In a way, they move very slowly for what Yun is used to, and he's affectionate in a way that nobody has really been with her for a while now. The little things he does brings a smile- a geniune one- to her face, like arranging for a nice lunch to be sent to her work, or reminding her of this and that. Awkward and shy Suho and confident, trailblazing Yun temper each other- she keeps him on his toes, gives him a challenge and keeps things interesting; he grounds, stabilises and balances her and slows her down to a pace where she can see things that she ignored before. However, his forgiving selflessness, even when he knows what she's really like, and his deeply buried insecurities are confronting for Yun, because they bring out the thread of humanity in her that wants to love and care and protect. On another hand, though (how many hands are we getting here?!) there's still the mystery of why Suho disappears for days or weeks at a time, and the equally baffling question of why the world feels so dull without the self-confessed 'boring grandpa' sending her love notes.

#o2. park chanyeol | exo | 20
» personality | bright, quirky, excitable, vivacious, dorky, sweet, silly, loyal, spontaneous
» meeting | Through a combination of extortion, bribery, blackmail and threats, one of Yun's work-'friends' dragged her out of her perfectly good bed at 5am one fine, drizzly morning. Everything was pretty much a blur after dressing herself in an even more clashing outfit than usual, so Yun was a little confused when she finally woke up a little and found herself in a sea of screaming girls in fan gear waving albums and such around. Work-friend shoved her upright and she kind of half-stumbled, half-slouched right into Park Chanyeol's lap without knowing that she'd been dragged to a fansign. Well, not literally, but Yun went right ahead and leaned over the table, squinting at the curly giant intently as he kind of twitched and grinned a bit creepily, and started poking fun at how weird his face was in butchered German/English/Korean/Indonesian in what was a totally out-of-it flirty way. Chanyeol, being unsubtle Chanyeol, started throwing flirty compliments back (regardless of the fact that he couldn't understand a single thing she was saying) whilst waving frantically for a translator or almighty Kris and for security to stand down please). When Duizhang arrived at the scene of the crime, Yun had actually started prodding and poking the boy about and what Kris expected was to be asked to tell her to get off. What he got was to ask her for her number, which she enthusiastically slapped on the table before swagging off with a flabbergasted work-friend in tow.
» love story | Yun came to her senses when anonymous texts from a person who used way too many emoticons came through and started clogging her inbox. Rationalising that there must've been an enormous misundertanding or inconsistency in what she thought had happened and what he thought had happened, she realised that she had to find some way to clarify that no, she was not actually that interested in an orange poodle-top and that his pickup lines were horrible, so she tried doing it by text. He didn't get it. Seeing as she couldn't actually go an meet him at her own convenience, she waited around the SM building until Exo were leaving and she could tell Chanyeol face to face that she wasn't interested. Again, typically oblivious Chanyeol mistook her presence as a sign of interest and immediately dragged her off for ddeokboki or something of the sort, without Yun being able to get a word in edgewise. However, as he began to bother her more and more and she got used to it, Yun came to appreciate the playful carelessness and striking spontaneity that was Chanyeol. If he was a mess, then he was a good kind of mess, first class Jackson Pollock style. Chanyeol is the driving force in their relationship, and while there's bullying and roughhousing on both sides, Yun is pretty happy just to coast along and let Chanyeol bounce ideas and energy off her while she grounds him and makes sure he's not so caught up that he becomes hopelessly impractical. Still, while miscommunication was the birth of the relationship, it's still its one great flaw. Both Yun and Chanyeol often mistake the things the other says and say things the wrong way, leading to massive blowout fights and deliberately ignoring each other until circumstances force them back together. And circumstances have an eerie way of doing just that.

#o3. kim himchan | b.a.p. | 22
» personality | sarcastic, cocky, evasive, mysterious, guarded, unpredictable, perfectionist
» meeting | Yun being Yun was still connected and as high-society as ever, despite having to drastically down-scale to adjust to her new Seoul lifestyle. So an evening of gallery crawling and promenading turned into a highly curious jaunt into an exclusive exhibition by some up-and-coming modern artists of the non-sequitur kind, which she gained admittance through by bluffing and appearing greatly haughty. B.A.P. had been invited as a courtesy to view a few of the performance art pieces of indeterminate nature, were present. Himchan and Yun noticed each other circulating after  acouple of passes, and pretty much spent the whole even circling around each other and passing each other in exhibits they'd seen a billion times by the end of it all. As they talked to other people, nibbled at canapes, and politely asserted their presences among the other high-powered individuals, they did the whole catching-the-other's-eye thing. Nothing too blatant of course, but the confident, chin-up eye contact of an individual boldly sizing up someone he or she sees as an equal.
» love story | Himchan is a welcome challenge for Yun, because it seems that he isn't as oblivious to her motives as everyone else around her. He's intelligent and can match her pace and even take her along for a ride at times, and Yun really has to work to keep on the ball in terms of Kim Himchan. He's multi-faceted, and Yun feels like she knows him everytime they part, but he's really a 'man of twists and turns' and new things are revealed about him all the time. This is both amusing and worrying at the same time; Yun sometimes feels like she's not in control and she can't predict where they'll be next. It's good for her to get shaken up and good for him too. They dance around each other like circling panthers and mask everything with biting civility and effortless smiles, but both of them are ridiculously full of themselves and they're both evasive types.  he treats her like a lady and she treats him like a gentleman, but they're both on firm equal footing and this feeling of being completely balanced in every way contributes to the calm, cool synergy of their interactions. The passion lurks in the tiniest gestures and touches, simmering beneath the surface. Yun suits Himchan because he desires neither a china-doll to place ona pedestal, nor a woman so outspoken as to overwhelm his very particular sensibilities; both Yun and Himchan are restrained enough to satisfy one another's need for tidiness and order. Both of them see the potential but neither of them want to commit, because he's disillusioned in love and she's ruthlessly pragmatic. Still it's a fun and elegant exercise in what both Himchan and Yun do best. Since both of them are on such a similar wavelength in terms of how they're like and such, it's refreshing, frustrating and challenging for them to be within earshot of each other, because they see things of themselves in one another, and often these things aren't something they want to see.
